Buzz…..

Great signing - even better its a mid-season one.

Unbelievable that the Dogs had an opportunity to get rid of DWZ and bottled it. Hope there's no truth to him going to the Warriors and they get stuck with his ridiculous contract.

anyone else find those highlights underwhelming?

Most of those tries were Robert Jennings' type flop over the line highlights. Any of him actually making line breaks/tackle breaks from like......even half way?

Just as comparison to highlights 202 for our favourite whipping boy

From the highlights doesn't seem to really have a superman leap that most wingers nail these days.
I haven't watched him too much until now. But I'll support him now he's at WT.
And prefer him over DWZ

Most long range tries are scored by fullbacks these days, thats where the speed needs to be

Maumolo is a really good winger. Those highlights were predominantly him scoring which is only a small part of what he brings. I think he’ll be a good signing for us

Imagine if we signed that Nofo guy, we'd definitely make the eight! 😁

Wests Tigers didn't release a player or contribute to clearing another Clubs duds (DWZ, Isaako)..

Filled a roster spot for 2021 having the Warriors already contributing to that players salary..

Maumalo is a specialist winger and brings over 100 games NRL experience and NZ representative whose metrics match up with top wingers in the game...

Welcome aboard Beany..

Smart recruitment for once.
Under the radar signing that can only benefit us...

Loving it.
Ken always looks likely and is good for a few great runs a game.

Hopefully we can pull a few more big under the radar signings before 2022 season kicks off but our squad is looking very solid.
???

Recruitment has been much better since Hartigan’s involvement.

Massive understatement ?

Madge doesn’t get a mention?

I don’t think that’s how it works. From memory, Madge (and hartigan?) identify gaps, Woodward gives a list of potentials and hartigan goes from there. Or something like that anyway.

I’m sure someone can fill in the gaps

Good signing IMO - size and strength out wide never goes astray and he can finish a try. Yeah, he's not lightning quick, but he's quick enough...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-EdOaUJEEM

Big and strong when he’s in form, he should get us rolling forward. I have very high hopes that he will bring his best. Please Tigers now go out and get a spiritual forward leader who still has some footy left in them (Tamou appears to be winding down). Like the Sharks did when they got Luke Lewis. A Jayden Sua type would do me.

I agree. His main asset from what I have observed is his hit ups early in a set. He’s averaged 177 metres per game this year. For comparison, Nofo has only reached 177 metres 3 times this year.

Recap the situation

We supposedly meet Isako, media circus.
Goes no where and he claims he's sticking solid with broncos.

We talk to dogs about DWZ, they want BJ and then they want Mikaele... not too flexible with the costs involved. We walk away.

We then sign an athletic, tall, young, winger from the warriors looking to prove himself and get back to his best, in first grade.

🔥🔥🐯🐯

Huge win.
Team is really shaping up nicely.

You realise Maumalo is older than both Dwz and Isakko, right?

It’ll be interesting to watch how the careers of Dallin and Isaako play out. Just stuck in average teams or poor players ?

I don’t think that’s how it works. From memory, Madge (and hartigan?) identify gaps, Woodward gives a list of potentials and hartigan goes from there. Or something like that anyway.

I’m sure someone can fill in the gaps

Based on the way the club wants to play they have developed key attributes that they want for each position across the field, they also have an archetype for what they are looking for at that position. They use a system developed Woodward that allows them to sort players based on those attributes that they are looking for. For example they may be looking for a front rower with high effective tackle rate and consistently make over 100mtrs, they can then sort the players that match those attributes. When they have identified a target player they will then meet with them to determine if they have other attributes they are looking for, how well they will fit into team dynamics and team culture etc.

I know metres coming out from our own end is an attribute they have been looking to improve for a while now.

The decision about who to sign is quite collaborative, I know there was one player last year that there was differing opinions on whether to sign them or not.
