anyone else find those highlights underwhelming?

Most of those tries were Robert Jennings' type flop over the line highlights. Any of him actually making line breaks/tackle breaks from like......even half way?

From the highlights doesn't seem to really have a superman leap that most wingers nail these days.
I haven't watched him too much until now. But I'll support him now he's at WT.
And prefer him over DWZ

Most long range tries are scored by fullbacks these days, thats where the speed needs to be

Sivo doesn't make long range try's either
But he uses is bulk and bollocking runs to score
Hopefully Maumalo can do the same
Maumalo is Younger Taller and Heavier
Compare the pair

I would be very happy if Ken can replicate Sivo's finishing abilities

Who goes, Roberts or Tommy?

Tommy for sure. Need Roberts pace.

Laurie
Nofo
Doueihi
Roberts
Maumolo

Probably the best backline we’ve had for a while

Not my first choice as we desperately need more speed, but KM is a quality winger and we only had one of em...now 2!!
Hartigan doing a great job IMO

Who’s the other one ?

Think DWZ and isaako wld be quicker than Kenny....who is a bit more of the same tbh...but as I said,a quality winger who was winger of the year just 2 seasons ago....and at the rite price
Im hoping JTJ and Oliver both add some pace in the middle next year..
and btw,it probably spells the end for Joey L...

Yeah but Maumalo can run over both DWZ and Isaako and be a big metre eater coming out of our red zone .....look at SOO .how important is it making yardage out of your own half

Not sure about that. I get the feeling Tommy might get the nod. As much as Roberts is trying, he's not coming up with much. I thought wing might have been his spot rather than centre.

I'd like to see Roberts get another go at centre playing outside Mbye.

Recap the situation

We supposedly meet Isako, media circus.
Goes no where and he claims he's sticking solid with broncos.

We talk to dogs about DWZ, they want BJ and then they want Mikaele... not too flexible with the costs involved. We walk away.

We then sign an athletic, tall, young, winger from the warriors looking to prove himself and get back to his best, in first grade.

????

Huge win.
Team is really shaping up nicely.

You realise Maumalo is older than both Dwz and Isakko, right?

It’ll be interesting to watch how the careers of Dallin and Isaako play out. Just stuck in average teams or poor players ?

Dallin is happy with mediocrity, a good bedtime story read by Barrett and a BBQ at the so-called family club is enough to make him feel all warm and fuzzy ... he’s overpaid - gllad we moved on.

It is possible we could still sign him
We have $
He would need to take a pay cut and Bulldogs would need to chip in big time
At the moment they are stuck with him
We aren't desperate
They will be
If they can't offload him then they will be lop sided with backs next year
I wonder if Brisbane may even look at him with a trade for Lodge
Both players on the way out of their clubs
Bulldogs need forwards
Brisbane need backs
Similar $ value
Only sticking point is contract length
Watch this space
Just a hunch

Good signing. This’ll rightfully relegate Kepaoa to backup/depth winger.

(AJ) Kepaoa is a winger - he was playing out of position.

Twice v Penrith I was pulling my hair out because the ball carrier looked right instead of left .....he would have scored 2 long range tries ....I was definitely MBye

I have seen Roberts run into space numerous times this season and just not receive the ball. I have also seen the frustration that has caused him when it has happened. It happened quite a bit when Doueihi was at 5/8th, now we moved Doueihi out of 5/8th and Roberts is still playing outside.

Every profile I can find of Kepaoa has him listed as a winger, and that’s where he played most of his games for us. Regardless, this signing dumps him down the 2022 depth chart.
Wingers - Nofo, Maumalo
Centres - Talau, Roberts

He is definitely better at centre than wing, but yes he is backup next year.

AJ Kepaoa
Round 1 - wing
Round 2 - wing
Round 3 - wing
Round 4 - wing
Round 5 - dropped
Round 6 - centre, ACL injury, out for season

I guess that one (incomplete) game makes him a centre? Or is it because he was not so great on the wing that we’re assuming he must be a centre?
