Kyle Lovett gone?

The guy has been caught with drugs. Drugs are illegal. He should cop any punishment on the chin including losing his job as a player. That's what would have to the regular working person. s*** excuse oh he is young and has made a mistake. Choosing to take drugs is a serious problem in this world. I can't believe how common it is now. I do not feel sorry for him or anyone who is caught with drugs or dies from drugs. They have chosen to use these knowing that they are harmful and illegal. Lovett - get out of our club.

You say the ordinary working person would lose his job if he/she was caught with illegal drugs…..that statement couldn't be more innacurate because a regular person's employer would in most cases not even be aware of any illegal indescretions by any of their employee's.
If Barba and other wife bashers and drug takers (illegal or performance enhancing), head-stomping meatheads like Packer and other seedy lawless vermin are allowed to earn a living in the NRL then Lovett should be afforded the same opportunity IMO. The NRL will never introduce a blanket-termination of players in it's employ for too many criminal activities.......it would be too scared of losing any of it's drawcard players that keep the turnstiles and cash registers spinning for the NRL. There would be plenty of shady people at all levels involved in the NRL, it is just a matter of who gets caught.

Why do you have a right to know about what is going on in a young mans life? your membership $ entitle you to know about the mistakes Kyle Lovett makes in his private life? mushrooms, you must be kidding me, I'm sorry the club didn't call you to let you know that Kyle got in to trouble. By the way, woodsie, out captain swore at training the other day, just thought you might like to know.

Before you go off half cocked, read my opening sentence…I will say it again,I don't care what he has to go to court for,he is a man isn't he,he knows right from wrong....as a member I heard he was told to clear his locker,I would think the club knew and would make a statement....who else would of told him to clear his locker...so don't go off so righteous, church is onSundays spare your sermon for then...

It is Sunday, so I guess you can listen to my sermon now. You say you don't care what he has done, but then claim you are being kept in the dark about it and seem pretty upset about it. So which is it? Do you care or not? if you don't care your entire post was a waste of time.

Once again to clarify things for you…I don't care about what he has to go to court for....I was referring to the club supposedly telling him to clear his locker and expected a statement, however as has been stated by others this many have been a rumour and the club didn't really know...sorry if I interrupted your righteous life with an opinion of what I had heard......as for Lovett, whatever happens to him is his own problem,he is a man and should know what's right from wrong...live by the sword, die by the sword...

Rereading your original comment, maybe being a little tired from chasing a 3 year old around all weekend, I focussed on one part of you comment and took too much from that and misinterpreted the intended meaning of your comment. If that is the case I will apologise. Just get tired of people expecting to know everything that is going on at the club and claiming to be mushrooms. Anyway, sorry if I misinterpreted your meaning.

My six year old son knowing the name of the beer that is associated with the cricket is a much bigger problem in my world, particularly as I rarely see any of it and it is legal.

In any event, the bloke didn't cheat on his misses, he didn't bash anyone, and he alledgedly didn't do anything at least half of Bondi allegedly doesn't do weekly - so if he was allegedly caught in possession of some sugar, maybe he was holding it for a stranger whilst they were tying their shoelace.

Cocaine is a hellavadrug, but there are a million other things that are also illegal, like driving and talking on your phone.

If we assume athletes are all 100% cleanskins, we should go hide our heads in the sand.

I don't really care what Lovett has done to go to court…**my main issue is that about 2/3weeks ago he was told to clear his locker**....but the club has only found out about the court appearance yesterday....so is it a salary cap issue or a court issue that he was told to go..you see this is why many don't want to renew the memberships at times because we are treated like mushrooms....kept in the dark and fed bs ....just remember every thread on here last year people referred to Lovett as JTs golden boy...why the sudden change.......

Here's what I reckon....I mentioned on here how Sirro and Lovett were joined at the hip when I saw them at a members night at Campbo....Sirro off to Manly and Lovett is on his own,my bet is his next move will be a deal with Manly.....let's see how wrong Iam......just my opinion but I will stick with it.......

I'm a bit confused with this part..if he was asked to clear his locker why was he training with the squad as late as last Thursday…?

It was reported that Lovett was told to clear his locker by Josh Massoud who gets his information from honest Sam Ayoub.
Lovett was told last year he was free to look elsewhere however Ayoub thought it would be in Lovett's best interests to sensationalise the situation in early January by saying Wests Tigers had told Lovett to leave the club immediately.

The club did only find out yesterday as did the players.
Pascoe is a decent honest man.

The question is when did Ayoub find out about Lovett's drug bust ?

Fumbles, how the hell does Ayoub keep getting away with the garbage he spits out time and time again…he must really have a reputation as being a grub, surely people will wake up to him soon...personally I think he has it in for our club because of the Robbie fiasco....wish he would move on and do his job in an orderly fashion...

I suppose being a snake is why he is a good manager

And I don't think it is Ayoub's responsibility to spill the beans to the club

When your an adult you do the right thing , don't you ??

You screw up , you are accountable for your actions

Please remember that as of this moment Lovett has not done anything wrong because he is yet to be found guilty in a court of law.

His employer cannot fire him for bringing the game into disrepute or using illicit drugs which would be against the Tigers code of conduct until then.

Tge word allegedly works wonders in this situation. It would also help when going off half cocked about what ayoub may have allegedly done to help against slander libel.

I thought the clearing of the locker rumour began on here… The first I read of it there was no link attached substantiating it

I wonder what situation it was for the cops to charge him. Just thinking if found guilty what consequence this will have now having a criminal record.

It is up to the judge if he gets a criminal record.i am only a layman but i dont think it is automatic if found guilty.

The report mentions a venue in Pyrmont. We've all got a pretty good idea where that is. Gotta stop bringing drugs to the casino lads.

If you're caught with it on you then you get charged. Depending on the amount the punishment could be a fine, suspended sentence, good behaviour. He hasn't cleared his locker and is still at the Club at this stage

A little bit more nuanced than that. Assuming he pleads guilty, to avoid a criminal record he will need to apply for an order that the offence is proved but no conviction be recorded. Im not too sure what the prospects are of getting such an order for drug possession.

Interestingly, if he does get convicted, that will hurt the chances of the Tigers being able to offload him to an English club.

Cleaning out his locker started here, but the "leave immediately" was in the original channel 7 report.

My guess is Ayoub knew what was about to happen and decided to make it a salary cap issue before the real news hit.

Bang on Donny

Look i'm not much of a Lovett fan but if players like Barba and Andrew John's can continue to maintain a Career in the NRL well Lovett shouldn't be crucified for what might have been a silly mistake that he will wake up to himself after this ( one would think ).

Can't believe i'm sticking up for this bloke 😱pen_mouth:  . I just know of a lot more players that have used the white stuff on a night out .

It's called a "Section 10" where it conviction is proven and the Judge records no conviction.

He will not be sacked and he probably will not be shopped around because what demand there was has probably been blown away by this mini drama.

I guess the main damage will be he is highly unlikely to be offered a new contract beyond 2017, but I guess if he was being shopped around he was highly unlikely to be offered one anyway.

Of course all of the above really means nothing to a court has made its ruling as at present he is guilty of nothing
