OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

The best thing WTs can do now is nothing. We pick the best spine this week and next week, even if it includes Galvin (he can play lock, centre, 14 or even reserve grade if required but he will only play in the halves if Luai or Latu are injured) We keep the poker face on and let the dust settle and we keep winning games. I'd be guessing that you won't hear anything else from the club regarding this matter, especially from Benji.
Man the first press conference opportunity with coach or players would be straight on this topic

I agree they don’t, but they have said that he can’t reach his potential here. That’s a strange comment given that the team is clearly on the improve. With the exception of the Broncs, even when we lose this year we are in the game up until the last minute.
He has two of the best 5/8ths in decades at his disposal to learn from. We are building a forward pack to create space and a backline to finish raids off. The situation is less dire than it has likely ever been in his lifetime. To sweeten things, we offered the security of a 5 x million dollar / year extension on top of his current 2 years which we also bumped up by 500k each.
Despite all of this, he has not even bothered considering signing on. That is a fundamental failure in negotiation from our team. Did Richo upset them that much last year when he had the sit down? What was said? More importantly, what wasn’t?
I think it's more to do with coffee meetings with other high profile people who have been selling him and his family other options. Gus seems to know him well already defending his character after the reports about was said about Benji.
The kid is use to starring and winning his entire life - two and now three wooden spoons were never in his destiny.
This club was always going to be hard sell when he knows there is interest elsewhere - via Moses - and the only thing holding him back is a piece of paper.
As reported Gus has already said- like him or hate him people listen to him - he will make more money in the history of the game than any other player, best young player he has ever seen. clubs will win competitions because of him and a big money contract now could be detrimental.
In the next breath he says I hope he stays witn WTs and never imagined that he would become available.
I have no doubt he is the family and kids head space and if Gus wants him he will make it happen.

Isaac Moses poisoning Benji for the past few months I. The background.

This is a typical play to help host narrative.

In the end this is all about money and his commission 💰 💰
If it was all about money he would have stayed at tigers & taken the $6 million deal

Taking the emotion out of it, Galvin hasn't been setting the world on fire. It's clear the team needs to move forward without him. Unfortunately it will be slowed up by Latus injury, but Galvin just needs to be a squad player now. Does that mean he plays 5/8 this week? Obviously that would depend on team harmony.
I never thought I would say this but when AD went to half against the Broncos, I liked the shape we started throwing at them, so is he an option until Latu is back? Very interesting team list this afternoon.

I don’t understand the thinking from the Galvin camp.
We literally have signed the halfback playing with him for the next 5 years who, for the last 5 years played with the best half in the world. We also have the hooker and winger. All of whom are absolutely guns.

And if Galvin signed a 5 year contract then he’d be 25 by the end, barely even in his prime. For me this offer seems amazing to a 19 year old.
And by jumping ship, is he going to get more money? Maybe. But worth the risk?

Will he be with a better halves partner? No.

Will he have a more experienced coach? Maybe.
But the only coaches he could be hoping for are narrowed down to Bennett, Robinson, Cleary or Bellamy - and there’s no guarantee all them will still be the coach for the next 5 years. Anyway, Melbourne have halves, Roosters are out of the question, why would anyone go to Souths, and Penrith are on a major decline.
So who is left?
Dogs? Playing with Burton and Ciraldo. Is that so much better?
Parra with Moses and Ryles…seriously?
Manly with Brooks and Seibold?
Rugby union?

We are a club creating a great culture and strong lineup. The opportunity here for him is phenomenal. Chance to do something great. And on great money - before he is even 25!
I just don’t get the thinking from the Galvin camp at all.
Yep theres a lot of smell in all this...too much BS.
There must be something already lined up...no one knocks back a certain 6 million without knowing what the future holds....something fishy going on but as usual the NRL have their heads up their arse

The reaching his potential, benji this, benji that is all scuttlebutt. This situation totally blew up in issac moses face. The tigers have never reacted like this to the game he plays. No one has.
Imagine being Galvin's parents now. And I don't know them at all so they could be jerks I don't know. But I am going to assume they are following the advice of a season player manager to get the best deal for their son... (who is an adult in our society, but that's another topic).
So they have followed the advice, now their baby face golden haired boy who was being praised by the entire nrl community has now had at least 5.5 million dollars taken off the table, our fans have turned on him, the media have turned him, there are already clubs that won't deal with him because of his manager, no doubt there's clubs that want nothing to do with this type behaviour.
Issac moses has made their son and them look like absolute clowns. They maybe clowns and not even care. But gees it's good to have the club come out on top here and still feel like we are progressing well. UP THE TIGERS

I don’t want this to be taken out of context, but having watched a few games live and close to the field before and after the games, Galvin appears disconnected from the team which are from Western Sydney, Polynesian, Kiwis, Lebanese, and indigenous. The arrival of Luai, Turuva, May, and now the emergence and gelling of the Fainus, Pole, T’oa et al and the group is very happy and talkative - connected. Galvin is an odd one out. Even Twal is a man of the people and Seyfarth doing his job, AD has found his place. Galvin is the most nervous and erratic one especially during warm up, Laui and Turuva are not being aggressive, but telling him where to stand in warm up drills in a firm way. He is just a kid but looks lost amongst the group till kick off and in part trying too much. Maybe it’s the same at training? No idea. I think his parents and him may feel he isn’t in the best place with all the ‘bros’, despite them playing well, and would be better to grow up around another team that’s more akin to his nature / temperament. I have no idea where that is, and which club isn’t similar to us in terms of players origins and their ‘bro’ness’.This is all just my observation. He certainly isn’t hanging out after games and giving time to the fans. At the dolphins game, To’a, Hunt and Pole had to be pulled from the field by a trainer or manager, and then you watch the lads get a feed. The big ‘dogs’ have arrived and I’m sure there is some tension when he was the beloved one last year. Most controversial part, and I love our team and all that is going on, but I can’t understand why a white skinny teenager might see this team as intimidating. Just hope Latu can find fitness - I sense he will be great with Luai and that is the teams preferred halves - to them - the bros. Galvin is an odd one out. Maybe I am wrong, but even TDS and Twal seem to be enjoying themselves around this harder edge bro group. Go the Tigs!

Not a Moses fan at all, but I would like to know the "expert" who declared to Galvin/Moses that Benji couldn't develop Galvin. Must have been someone influential/experienced.
Probably his old coach from Westfield who is currently at the bulldogs, just a guess

He doesnt need mentoring....he knows it all already...he has a ciach who had more influence on juniors than anyone in thenhistory of the game...and a 5/8 whos.played in the ladt 5 GFs and at the highest level...i seriously doubt this is about development its just an excuse
Completely agree. It’s all excuses. If it’s not the coach it’s the fact that Luai was signed. Or it’s not enough money. Or it’s to win a premiership. Next will be the mental health card.

We’re in a toxic relationship where a partner deflects and flips everything around. He has no accountability.

We just have to listen, nod our heads, say ok, offer support but stick fast with the contract terms until it suits us.

That is not a fair statement.
It's obvious Galvin never wanted to negotiate and stay at the tigers.
The plan has always been to get out.
Only a month ago he was liking posts about going back to Parramatta.
This is all on Galvin, his parents and Moses. The club has done absolutely everything (within reason) to make Galvin the franchise player at the tigers and build around him. For whatever reason, he never wanted to be a part of it.
The distain from two of our inform props on social media shows what they think of him. They work their asses off and Galvin wants more, without having earnt it.

Look, you've been shut down for your opinions on the kid over the past 2 years and you've been right with that. But I don't think you can blame the club in this situation. It didn't matter what they did. If Wayne Bennett came, would be stay? Probably not. These issues seem to run deeper than just Benji.

He’s messed up in the handling, but Galvin wants to go for his own reasons. Whether they are right or not is up to him.

He’s going to be a massive loss and would have been worth the money, but other clubs have moved on from big losses and we can do the same.
You're assuming those reasons havent been fed to him by his manager. He's not an incredibly bright kid from what I can see and still only 17 years old, he's probably very maluable to those in his inner circle. I think his parents or his manager have greatly helped make this decision
