OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I’m convinced he’s still off to Parra. I doubt Dogs are willing to give him a big contract like they are. If anything his manager is probs, just trying to create a bidding war. Surely there must other clubs with money?
There will be if the numbers reported this arvo are accurate.

I really do rate Galvin as a player and think he'll be a very good player, and my opinion hasn't changed cause he's leaving - but I don't see his future in the halves at all.

The offers from Bulldogs and Eels are still overs IMO. No idea where he even fits in there, unless he's happy to move to lock early.

Anyway, so off this guy - he's really not worth all of this. Yawn.

TDS stuff annoys me, we've shown him a lot of love. Benji gave him captaincy in one of the trials IIRC. He is clearly the future, and I have no doubt the plan is more minutes for him and less for Api. I hope he bides his time.

At the end of the day, he has to look after himself. If we re-sign Api for another couple of years, he won’t take the reigns until 2029. That’s a very long apprenticeship.

The kid probably needs to learn to play 80 mins first, very hard craft to master. Anywho I can’t wait for the year long will he or won’t he stay articles of TDS now. Who’s next? Bula?

And he'll be what, 23? And all the while learning from Api
Yeah 23/24 I suppose.
To be honest Api may not make it that long anyway. He’s had a couple of very good performances this year and some average ones.
By the time 2027 rolls around, I think he may have peaked in what he can offer on a consistent basis.

He would be 22-23 with a good 10yrs to run.
Not many hookers last 10yrs consistently season on season as a starter.

Tds is just awkward, which nobody does better than WTs!
Api clearly a gun..still..tds just promising at this stage
When given the opportunity, TDS needs to demonstrate he's leapfrogged his mentor
Haven't seen it yet
Smith and Grant went thru same at Storm..

Yours are. At worst a 2yr extension for Api occurs.
TDS would be 22-23 during that time.
Api would be 34-35. No chance Api is playing 80mins week on week let alone continues being the prime option.
Api is contracted until the end of 26 already.
A 2 year extension takes him till the end of 28 meaning TDS takes over full time in season 29.
He’ll be turning 24 early that year.
Anyway, I doubt he wants to wait 4 years until he is the number 1 hooker if there are options available from 27 onwards elsewhere.

You are correct but remember that Api is here next season as well.
That means a year and a half plus 2 pre seasons. Surely he’ll be ready by then?

If he's not, then he never will be. It's one or the other and the club will need to choose wisely. I don't see much value in Api for 2027 onwards, not on his current wage anyway.
