Seems logical to me that Galvin said he just wanted to focus on footy and left the utter stuff to his agent and parents. Hence he hasn't been involved in any of the discussions with the club.
He likely said he just wanted to focus on footy and wanted to play on a winning team and compete for premierships..
Issac being Isaac took this as a chance to get another client out of our club. The dad sees us losing and is happy if his son can get a gig elsewhere.
Galvin actually appreciates the coach and playing with his mates, his parents and agent don't care about these things. In the end Lachy needs to speak up as he's made to look like a fool in the media and says he'll stay and wants to be part of the future at WT.
Ideally he'll extend and take the raise, if this is what he wants this will probably get done in the coming months. Or he stays on his lowly contract and waits to see how things go with Luai at the helm and maybe waits another 12 months before deciding his longer term future.
In the end I think he needs to grow up and take control of his own career. Tell his parents to help him invest his money but that ultimately he will decide where he plays and get his agent to get him the best deal possible. To be fair it's been a whirlwind 6 months for the kid, these changes usually happen more gradually so there's time to plan and mature.
I do make some assumptions here, but the only public quotes attributed to Lachy over the past couple of months have been positive and wanting to build something here with his mates at WT, hopefully this is the truth when it comes down to it.
