OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Don’t think he’s setting up try’s the way Galvin is at the moment. Playing both sides of the ruck, taking control of the team. Burton is playing well but more of a runner.
I'd love lachie to win it, but burton is an individual player. Individual players always poll well. Ezra Mam with 18 tries last year. Tom Trbojevic. Jack Wighton

Idk if it’s been mentioned, but apparently he’s out of the running for rookie of the year Becauas he served a two game suspension for the hip drop earlier in the season.
Silly rule really, I remember the year Andrew Johns was suspended for giving Preston Campbell a forearm. Johns was a walk in for the Dally m medal but because he was suspended Campbell ended up winning it. Instead of being best and fairest there should be 2 awards. One for the best and one for the fairest. In terms of rookie of the year it's just silly. Imo he's been by far the best rookie all year a complete stand out in the last placed team but gets no recognition because of a hip drop. Imo whoever wins it only wins it by default.

I like Ethan Strange more.
He has taken on Canberras destiny this year without his halfback and has them still in contention for the finals.
That’s a far better accomplishment than the bloke who’s team is coming 16/17th.

He was miles ahead early on....
But has fallen away the back of the year.

Lachie is pretty much playing without a halfback as well....
Our 7's have been bog ordinary for the majority of the year.

Seems like such a silly rule
Yeah it does sometimes, but really Johns shouldn’t have tried to give Preston a dental checkup with his forearm.
The hip drop is probably even more dangerous, giving someone knee and ankle checkups with your giant arse is not medically acceptable any more.
The more I think about it tough luck.
Do we wanna reward the “Best and Fairest” or the “Best and Cheatiest”, bcoz storm would win that award every year too.

Strange has had a great year but Galvin has done it with a lot less to work with. There are really only 3 - 4 reliable players around him on any given week. Imo what's even more remarkable is Galvin's played like this with a coach with absolutely no experience who in reality the jury is still out on. There have been a whole host of young players who could win it in all honesty. I'm biased no doubt but Galvin has had the chips stacked against him all year and still really shone. He overplays his hand and has an error in him but I can't stone the kid for it no doubt he feels it's his responsibility and that will take time for him to learn. Great thing about him not winning it is not as much pressure on him next year with the rookie of the year tag.

There should be a difference between intentional and not. Biting definitely would be an issue, and while a hip-drop is dangerous, it's often not intentional.

So retracting a yearly award for a split-second accident, while negligent, is a bit rough.

Started on fire finished the last third of the year very quiet... Think he was carrying an injury.. Saw him in the box with sticky one recent game

Imagine if Luai turned down representing Samoa fur this season. As a nod of his big move to the tigers and starting training early rather than the lay off if he plays. It would be a smart move in his behalf and would be totally respected by his new team and I even think Samoa would understand.
Crichton played for samoa last year in the pacific championship and still delivered for dogs. We just need him fit for the preseason to lead standards. Does this mean we should not allow any players to play internationals? I'm sure latu could do with playing for tonga with his brothers. As well as galvin maybe making the australian team with cleary and moses having surgery and munster a bit shaky with injuries and form

Strange has been good but hasn't done anywhere near as much as galvin. Team performance should not drag down individual efforts and skill. You could get Edwards from penrith at fullback for us and i doubt he wins us games, he probably improves the defence, but doesn't fix the disjointed unstructured attack

Yes, but Ethan playing without a halfback and admittedly falling away a bit still has his team in contention.
Lachy playing sporadically without a halfback will be lucky not to get the spoon.

The disjointed, unstructured attack has largely come from Galvin.
