OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

$1m is the halfback going rate now regardless of what most couch critics think. There are multiple halves getting that today now.

Galvin will be getting paid no matter what he selects and it’s going to be a massive upgrade & involve many years based on potential.

Galvin if he waits will know he will have nearly all NRL clubs + PNG lined up for him. He will be in a very unique position to most players where cash and club selection is his options.

We're in the box seat in being able to throw an upgrade for this and next and reduce the impact on the cap in future years. Say we throw an extra 600k this year and next, that's 1.2m into the total package.

Over a 3 year extension, if we offer him $1m a year after that, other clubs will have to throw in $1.3m to match.

I'd say richo clearing the cap is to do just that. Along with some $ for TDS too. In fact, we should extend TDS first. Will show start to show the loyality in this team.

PNG Wow no way I personally believe that when PNG Start they will have the oldest roster of any club in the last 30 years if not oldest ever

It will be a retirement club and a group of has beens and never will be

PNG are building a compound for players and families to live in with schools for kids sorta like a club med

Thats going to destroy your families way of life after a year of getting locked in

Don't go out side you mite be abduct raped or killed

People have no idea what it's really like

It looks like the Canberra number 7 is off to Manly he has received a big offer more then the 650K he is on at the Raiders be interesting to see what happens with him
I think I heard somewhere there is a Canberra club option they can take up by round 10 ? In their court

Hard not to believe the kid when he says it’s about enjoyment and winning. It’s up to WT to provide that environment for him. He’s doing his bit.

The issue is that Brown is worth a lot less than $1.4m too. No way Galvin will sign for 600
You’re probably right, but it would bring some sobriety to the discussion, and create a more realistic starting point.
What we don’t know is what has affected his playing style during his last handful of games?
He is only 19 and most halves don’t get a handle on half play until later in their career. I believe its the toughest job in the team making your teammates look good, by creating opportunities for them.
One thing we do know though, is that like others in the same stable, their form can often appear to change during contract negotiations.

The Tedesco experience should be a salient reminder if needed. Before throwing large sums of money at any player, the club will need to consider contract relativities with other players.

I wouldn’t go to PNG regardless of $$ for an extended period of time. Work there enough to know how it is.

Didn’t say he should or would just more that the kid has options and knows it.
