OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

There can't be, and Richo would call it out.

And the NRL is quite happy to take actual premierships off clubs for not complying.
No team has ever lost a premiership or copped ANY punishment for breaching anti-tampering rules!!

You are conflating anti-tampering with systemically breaching the salary cap!

I guess if people are planning to boo the young fella for taking more money elsewhere, they will also be booing the blokes who joined our club for more money too?
Exactly right.
To my knowledge handful of Penrith players already() have signed with us for a better deal financially -but not one single player is bigger than the club (we’ve already had the Brooks situation on huge money( look how that worked out)

Lots of anti- Galvin posts in this thread.

My understanding of this situation is that Tigers wanted him to sign 5 years now or leave at the end of 2027. He chose to leave. Based on the state the club is in, why blame him? He will be in high demand for sure, and forget the high demand, I don't blame any player for not committing long term at the Tigers based on our history.

Tigers are right in asking him to commit now so that they can plan for 2027 and beyond. I feel we should have upgraded him and give him a year or two extension and if he doesn't sign that either, then move him on.
He was NEVER intending to stay beyond his current contract no matter what the WT put in front of him...Good luck to the kid, I hope he remembers which club and coach had faith in him when others wouldn't have

I think Galvin may have done us a favour by rejecting the WT.

The $1m per season we had allocated to hiom will provide us with funds to have a much better balanced side moving forward. Watch Latu blossom now that he knows the #6 jumper is his for the taking.
100% agree. Whilst it might be a bit of a slap in the face by the media in the short term, I think we will be better off. Latu is the better player and shouldn’t cost as much. Galvin had taken on mythical status but when I watched him play he never lived up to the hype.

I won’t miss him putting it over the dead ball line at least once a game.

What you shared (and good on you for doing so), is hardly the type of messaging a manager would want around the reputation of one of his blue-chip young stars though, it is?

I don't understand how painting Galvin and his family as 'expecting keys to the team and wanting in the vicinity of $2 million' by leaking that information specifically (if it's true) helps Galvin and his image in any way, shape or form.

I think Richo has called their bluff.
And this is testament to how ugly things are, that the truth may honestly lie somewhere between those two extremes… maybe he wanted 100k more - we may never know but my info didn’t come from Richo or WT camp.
