Buzz: Cracks in Galvin-Tigers relationship a year in the making
Deep inside the Wests Tigers’ dressing sheds in Wollongong in June last year after a 56-14 loss to the Dragons, Lachlan Galvin made a telling admission which was reported in Phil Rothfield’s column. SUBSCRIBE to read the full story.
It was Galvin claiming he wanted out in the shed at full time. Was well documented at the time with many calling it BS.buzz doesn’t sit on stories …. This must be something he has wrote already
And this is testament to how ugly things are, that the truth may honestly lie somewhere between those two extremes… maybe he wanted 100k more - we may never know but my info didn’t come from Richo or WT camp. What you shared (and good on you for doing so), is hardly the type of messaging a manager would want around the reputation of one of his blue-chip young stars though, it is?
I don't understand how painting Galvin and his family as 'expecting keys to the team and wanting in the vicinity of $2 million' by leaking that information specifically (if it's true) helps Galvin and his image in any way, shape or form.
I think Richo has called their bluff.
The signs were there early.
Latu will step up to the plate.
not sure its the forums job to sh** on the club and its coach fellasThat could be the elephant in the room.
A few have left under contract and are all greedy. But maybe there is a reason.
I have doubts and only watch the games
We believing this?Danny Weilder & Triple M reporting Galvin was mad that we brought Luai to the club. Galvin saw Latu as the long term.

And we’ll take their very best player in return.I reckon there is almost zero per cent chance he is here in 26. He’ll sign elsewhere in November, we’ll prioritise Latu and his new club will ask for an early release.
I have no doubt that there was a plan for his development. It looks like we are awkward but I'm pretty sure that Benji is trying to allow our playmakers play what they see. What that means is we have to have structure that the play makers hit once they've done whatever unstructured stuff they do. We started to see Sam F hit with the ball on the edge as he is now running the lines that are being picked up.Do you think we are ‘developing’ lachie as a 5/8?
I think the only ‘development’ he has been offered is to get used to defending on the right side of the field.
But I don’t see any of our play or play structures be a result of Lachie developing into a better half. I honestly think we have 12 out of 13 players in set positions and one player that just plays football when he sees fit. It’s a very in the now approach. Lachie is our X-factor and is playing as such but it is also has the ability to be detrimental to our team development long term.
Club just has to say he will be paid his contract he can have a rest. He's not on much these next 2 years and it would leave prospective clubs wondering whether he'd do the same to them.I can see it now....Galvin playing the mental health card and running to the RLPA...to get an early release
Than we can send him to rehabI can see it now....Galvin playing the mental health card and running to the RLPA...to get an early release
In my opinion, it is a NON reversible decision. All bridges burnt.I would say the offer remains on the table until we otherwise commit the money elsewhere.
