OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I am somewhat relieved that we didn’t cough up that sort of money on potential alone. He isn’t Daley, Fittler or even Benji at the same age.

They all were dangerous with ball in hand and I just don’t think Galvin has the natural tools that they did. He is supremely fit and ultra competitive but I believe there are limitations to how far he will go.

Good first grader yes but elite talent? We will see.

Are you being facetious? Is that tongue in cheek ?
It is not. Unless they have served the club long and proud, then leave with mutual respect, they are dead to me.

One of the best things I ever saw in rugby league was Mika Sivo steamroll Tedesco into oblivion not long after he joined Roosters. I was so happy and Channel 9 wouldn't stop replaying it from all the angles, including that new sideline camera they had set up.

That, and the first match in Roosters colours when Tedesco dropped the ball with the line open and Tui Lolohea nailed a sideline conversion for the win. Rugby League poetry.

love the passion, I'm in the same boat.

He is missing one of the most important pieces to a 5/8's game pace, how often do you see him trying to get thru a gap only to be tackled.
If he's too slow when he's young what's he going to be like as he gets older and fills out.

Both Galvin and his family sound like they are nightmares to deal with.

Didn’t like Sheens getting the sack so demanded a release. Demanded that Galvin play first grade in his preferred position of 5/8 then had the hide to complain the club was playing him too much.

If it’s true that he had a sook over Luai playing first receiver then he’s just an arrogant, delusional, entitled brat. We don’t need cancers like that in the team.

Once Latu is fit the club should stick him in reserve grade and let him sit there.

They need a halfback too... a team not many people are mentioning is Manly. A lot of Isaac Moses players, a coach who is managed by Moses and post-DCE Brooks will be 6 partnering with either Fogarty or Galvin. Manly lost latu fainu to us, they might get galvin off us
To be honest, I don't think I'll give a shit of Galvin ends up at Manly. I'll be ropable if he ends up at the Dogs or Roosters. Not sure why I feel that way.

Wingers and centres score the majority of tries in the NRL, the five eighths job is to enable them to cross the stripe.

LG is setting up plenty of good ball to Taruva.

I think posters who are saying Galvin isn’t worth the money and he’s overrated are trying to mask there emotions.

There’s nothing wrong with admitting that this kid is a superstar and is going to be sorely missed from a football perspective.

He’s probably the best rookie I’ve seen personally adapt to the NRL as quickly as he has. It’s going to be a massive loss.

I think that’s why I’m so shocked that the reason he wants to leave is because he doesn’t think he’ll be able to develop or progress at the club.

Yet he’s one of the best halves in the game and he seems like he’s developing perfectly under our system.

The kid, his manager and family are all frauds.

Throwing a club legend and your coach under the bus, when he was the one who wanted you to succeed the most and made sure he did everything in his power to make that happen gives you an insight into his character.

Good luck to him at Leichhardt oval next week.

Give him the #18 jumper for the rest of the year

He doesnt wanna play with his team mates, Pole isnt happy Im sure many are feeling likewise

I said some time ago I thought the smiling BS was a fake con job....I dont think that will go down well with many if he runs out - if hes selected- with a big grin on Monday
18th man is heaps better than the lower grades. You don't want the lower grades to feel like a punishment to players. And 18 gets heaps less game time so heaps less development to be used against us In 27

His adviser is a flog.

Hopefully he is sitting on the bench at Lidcombe for the rest of the year pulling splinters out of his proverbial.

Let’s see what comes from Galvin over the next few days.
If he’s smart enough he could really water down the situation by publicly backing Benji and stating he has not closed the door on potentially remaining a Wests Tigers player long term, he just wants to test his market value.
In saying this it appears he wants out at all costs and will agitate for an early release. If that’s the case why not see if we can get a highly valuable player swap for him for this season ?

I was mainly talking about the clubs that would be interested, not would get necessarily. I think Panthers, Eels are the strongest due to their cap position and need for a 5/8, but wouldn't count out the other clubs you mentioned.
Well Eels have a stack of cap to spare. Ryles's just exercise your guts out will fit Galvin.

Penrith however, I can't see them sparing 1m for a 5/8. When you knock back Luai, you can't turn around and spend 1m on Galvin who is playing a lot worse then Luai at the moment...

Bunnies come to mind though.. Wayne could actually do something with a guy like Galvin. He plays a similar style to Cody Walker and that could work out.

Which reminds me. Please end the love affair. Yes Galvin is 'good', he will probably get a premiership ring one day. But he isn't the next Andrew Johns, I don't think he will achieve as much as Latrell Mitchell.... Which is still incredible, better then most. But it isn't like there wont' be 3-4 more Galvin like players floating around. 350k, sure Galvin is great value. 1 million or even 1.2M.. That's 200-400k more then Reynolds.

It’ll be interesting to see what Moses has instructed him to do. Hopefully he takes the high road.

Gus on 100% Footy seems to believe that Galvin isn’t behind the Benji comments and is a tactic from his management.

Personally, just sounds like Gus trying to protect a players reputation he intends to sign.

I actually think they have played with fire and are about to get burnt.

I can see Benji and Richo making him see out the contract in KOE, hence the statement in the press release.

Next year a halves combo of Sullivan and Galvin in NSW Cup, not bad for the Maggie's
It would piss Galvin off if his reggies halves partner was getting more coin than him.

I agree with all of that. It’s tigers or nothing for me . I wouldn’t even follow the game .
This club is in my bones from my great great grandparents taking my great granddad to the first game at birchgrove for Balmain . It’s evolved into wests tigers , which is awesome . But yea I’m ride or die as well !
