OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Slightly different angle now. We've all put the boot in, and deservedly so.

I'm just going to suggest that Benji might STILL be doing the absolute best thing for Galvin in playing him in KOE now.

Given the public backlash to what has happened- if he lined up for ANY club next week in 1st grade, the absolute scrutiny on him would be "Luke Brooks at the Tigers" level.

We all know he is going to get paid.

It MIGHT be prior to the start of next season. If I was a player manager of scruples, I would suggest to Galvin (and his dad apparently)that the best course is to play out your Tigers contract in the darkness of KOE, learn what you can- don't cause issues & let the media cool on him.

That way- in 2027, the narrative won't be on how he has a lot to live up to, but more a redemption arc of fallen player rising again.

A year and a half away from the camera would make most people either forget, forgive or just stop caring. And would remove a bit of the pressure.

If he steps into another top 17 squad between now & the start of next season- he CANNOT struggle or he is going to be pilloried.

His management team have done him absolutely no favours here. For an incomplete player- his next outing has to be Joey Johns level or he's not outrunning this stigma.
Plus, if LG believes Benji is not able to develop his game, then giving him an opportunity with another coach is absolutely the right thing to do.

And there in lies the difference. Talyn has probably seen and heard this type of behaviour from Lachy and his camp as long as they have been associated with them. Talyn recently admitted that he doesn't think he is ready for FG starter yet.
They might be friends because of association but totally different in character and the players around him wouldnt take long to see the difference
If I was the club, I'd be getting around Tallyn big time this week. Make him feel part of the brotherhood.

Show him that Lachlan's behaviour and decisions have been self-inflicted and that the strong team bond is a positive, not a clique problem that has cast out his mate.

Just to be sure.

Some mates that are parra fans now think that the longer this drags on, the worse it will make the Tigers administration look, big in my opinion they have the upper hand. They could drag it out as long as it takes to get a good deal.

The weirdest thing too is that Luai and Benji regularly said “we’re here to support him”. He didn’t want that support because he knows better.
Sorry the irony of Parramatta fans saying the Tigers Admin look bad….As much as a shambles as the Tigers Admin have been we haven’t had to call in the Auditors nor have our CEO be convicted of fraud nor pay out $500,000 to close off a suspected fraud. Not to mention losing all of their competition points. Some ‘Parra’ fans have remarkably short memories.

He is off to the Eels apparently...bet your house on it... I hope Galvin turns out to be Ash Taylor 2.0
That's my preference.

It's the least likely club of all available options for him to see success.

He's also going to be forced into falling in line with one of the most controlling and me-first halves in the comp in a team that is bottoming out.

I hope that he does, has an average return on investment in terms of club success and is a cautionary tale for young guns readinbg their own headlines in the future.

Can anyone source me the image that Luai posted, without the writing etc all over It? I asked copilot and it's from Tokyo revengers. It can't tell me what episode it's from though

Just stumbled upon some interesting intel...

Lachlan's father, James.... quite the promising junior rugby league player, but never made it.

Life long Parra fan.

I wonder who's dream we are really seeing unfold?

Then a couple of years later continually make the top 4 and a grand final. Only the past two years have they been unsuccessful after cheating.

You want to believe that - but clearly have no idea.

Galvin, Tallyn and Heath Mason were all at Lidcombe cheering on the Flegg and Cup sides a few weeks back. They are great mates who all starred in Wests 2022 Matthews Cup winning side
I do want to think that.

But as an older bloke yourself (making an assumption) you'd know that relationships come and go in your teens and twenties. People go in other directions and make life changing decisions and people you were close to, you may no longer remain close to.

This is one of those moments with Galvin and his "crew", in my opinion. If they have half a brain (which I think they do), they aren't going to buy the bullshit and appreciate the toxicity and self entitlement Galvin has.

They are at a cross roads. I see them siding with the team....

And yes, that's what I'm hoping based on logic and judgement of character (or lack thereof in galvins case).

I’m going to go on record now and say this is the worst parenting I’ve seen of an athlete since Damir Dokic… also blame Gus for putting fuel on the fire singing his praises as if he’s the second coming, this for a 19 year old is just too much, I see a drug addiction coming up
Agree. If Galvin doesn't kick on to great heights. Every one will point to this week

It was funny his dad came out with a quote in the papers. Still trying to get in the limelight as his dad hahaha. Old useless prick.

anyone got his 7 point list or the source of it?
1. Galvin's locker is sandwiched between two blokes with horrific BO
2. Benji has forced him to eat Zinger Stacker Boxes to stack weight, Lachy prefers Go Buckets
3. Richo asked Lachlan to do media commitments and he was therefore unable to go for his Green P's
4. During warm-up Lachy was asked to lead the group stretches. Lachy's got tight hips which led to humiliation
5. Marshall said no long skins without undies, angering Galvin, who prefers freeballing
6. S&C Staff have asked him to stop consistently skipping leg day, angering Lachy, a Pull Day enthusiast
7. Richardson has asked Galvin's father to stop encouraging his son to kiss him on the lips

Not petty enough.

This is a once in a gerneration player swap that actually is in our favour.....hold fort Richo!
And this player swap BS orchestrated by Moses for WT to take Parra's best players, would make them even weaker! Not a selling point for the Galvin family?
For an unproven 5/8 with potential costing $1 mil. plus PA?
Not gunna happen! No more swap deal talk from Parra please,

The thing I cannot forgive here is that Galvin could possibly derail our season. For a 19 year old to bag the first grade coach (the only one he has had) and saying he needs to move clubs for him to develop, whilst he is playing outside Api and Jarome (both premiership winners) is just ridiculous. To knock back a $5m offer and the way he has done it, means he already has a firm offer from elsewhere. He could of said, I will review the offer at the end of the season because I want to see if the team makes the finals, that would of been acceptable to some degree, but he has done this because he wants to move now. But he has taken a huge risk, what happens if he does an ACL in reserve grade and is out for a year? His monetary value would drop significantly. I agree with most here and would play him in reserves for the next 1 1/2 years. Losing $350k a year is not a great loss, and if we have major injuries in the halves, we also have the option of bringing him back if the leadership group agrees. And an added bonus of him not playing against us for the next 2 seasons!
