OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Currently.
Last year 99.99% of people on here were prepared to have a standup fight over his inclusion in the squad.
Now almost 100% of them are saying the kid cant play...LOL.
That’s just stupid emotion. It’s like I was saying about Trell. Opinions are swayed so much by emotion.

Not if you are professional. If there has been any inkling at training that things arent working than the coach should have acted before we copped a 64 point drubbing and a 4 try to 2 loss to a team that is significantly weakened. If the player group is split, then management should have acted.
Moving this kid on is putting a bandaid on a broken leg. Considering his ability, the team is being weakened due to this lack of action.
The hiring of 2 premiership winners and the 2nd best prop in the game on form isn’t professional enough for you?

The 19year old rookie is the odd man out here

I want the leaders to play good football and STFU. Theyve had plenty to say...far more than the kid has.
Where have they "had their say"?

All I saw was the fallout from the Galvin drama with the insta posts + press conference... Where else have our leaders been chirping?

Id suggest the one chirping the most is the one crying about bullying and taking legal action.

I haven't seen any of the seniors players talking smack... If Ive missed something, show me where.

We had nothing to enjoy really last year at all. Galvin was the only thing, despite the fact he pushed for releases over the course of the year.

It is understandable why people were into him last year, the whole year was a write off. Hopefully the club learns from this experience.

Your right Its all Benji's fault and he should have been able to control the emotions of all of the players on the back of one of their "stars" taking legal action against the club for bullying, whilst having been handed the keys to the kingdom.

Meanwhile the likes of manly have won now many after the DCE saga?

TIgsrs releasing Galvin is a result of what has happened with melb and Souths.

Its easy to sit here and say "They should have seen it coming" but fmd they also had to give it a chance to play out...

It didn't work and we are moving on.

Not at Penrith anymore.
Luai is not contributing as you would expect an elite player would on nor off the field.
Does he still have those get out clauses in his contract? Thats not leading by example.
I am picking on your posts because your talking sh1t.

In the media, the bulk of commentators are saying Luai has had a good start to the season.

He has come into a team and supported the approach to let Lachlan lead the team.

It is because of Luai that we had ppl come back to training early and put extra effort in the off season.

It is because of Luai that we are 5 and 6.

Luai has been a great leader off the field and has played the role on the field he has been asked to.

As many have said previously, the quicker Galvin is out, the quicker we see Luai take control in the way you want him too..

But you want to double down and say he's not a leader..

Would he be a leader if he went against the game plan for the TEAM to inject himself more? The plan agreed to by the coaching staff and the team?

You aren't looking at Luai with context. You are comparing this year to last year. The spoon vs the premiers. His role has changed and will evolve. Its a 5 year project not a 5 week one.

Give the guy a fkn break

The playing group is in a form slump. We havent scored a try from a set play or move since the 30t minute of Magic Round. Thats 210 minutes of football. They are not a cohesive unit. To blame a 19 year old for that is very typical of this joint. If there is a problem with him, no one from the leadership group has dealt with it.

He rejected a contract offer, hardly the crime of the centrury and something that happens regularly every year in the other 16 clubs. We just dont hear about most of it.
He didn't just reject a contract offer him & his management team went & leaked a bunch of stuff to the media which included a smear campaign against his current head coach. This obviously hasn't gone down well with the playing group & it didn't go down well with Richo either.

Why’s that?

You don’t just defend like we did for the first 6 games then fall into a heap and get 60’d without something happening behind the scenes

Emotion isnt stupid....its not a weakness.
But it clouds judgement. How else do you get people going from being excited about him being one of our greatest juniors we’ve produced to shrugging that he’s leaving and might not even reach his potential. It’s a coping mechanism.

Yep, nothing
- The squad is better.

- The ability to recruit is better.

- He's overseen an improvement in on-field performance.

- Signed the richest sponsorship deal in club history.

- Has helped facilitate upcoming upgrades to Leichardt.

- Has directly filled first 17 holes from 24 into 25 (backfield thrust- Skelton/Tito, On-field class/leadership - Luai); appears to be attempting to do the same for 26 (quality of the edges and 3/4 line, prospective Pearce-Paul, Taylan, et al, signings).

- Has ripped the band aid off some poor ROI contracts to better balance the roster (work in progress).

- Has improved (not enough yet) the ancillary coaching staff ('24 into '25). More needed.

- Has extended (most of) our better prospects (Heamasi, Phoenix, Christian, Jared, et al).

- Has moved an operations centre to Campbelltown to increase presence in the western corridor.

- Established Wests Tigers Empower to increase reach in the South West at the school/community level.

- Has contributed to an improved containment of inner workings of the club and it's dealing; i.e., minimised the leaks (though not eradicated).

..... Oh, and he's been here less than 18 months.

Nothing's changed though, aye?

Why has it affected them? If they are so united against him, shouldn’t this bring them closer?

I don’t think it’s affected our performances at all. We’ve won games since, and had one game where we got beat by 60. All of the ingredients were there for the Melbourne massacre. Storm on a Sunday arvo in Melbourne is a grave yard for most teams, let alone us.

Galvin, TDS, Mason, Luke and Kit Laulilii, Latu Fainu, Miller, Feledy, Matamua, etc. All these kids were exposed to NRL way to soon, because the club recruited poorly. Some of them have played more NRL in their young careers than reserve grade, flegg, or Sg Ball. That just shouldn't happen.
But that’s always the way with struggling clubs. I remember Wests in the early years at Campbelltown being forced to rush Taylor, Devine, Ainscough and Wyer when they were all barely out of school.

They impressed plenty of pundits in those early top grade games and their potential seemed unlimited (remind you of anyone). A few years later and they’d all departed for greener pastures.

I don't know that's entirely true...
We also rushed through all the young blokes in 2010-2012/13
When we were a more successful side.

Seems to me, It's just what we do...

You clearly do not understand the meaning of that phrase. I proved you wrong all last year and many times this year. When will you swallow your pride and look at things rationally?

Is that an official approach? Ive seen it written on here a lot. Show me where Benji has confirmed that this has been his plan.

LOL all conjecture and quite silly stuff to be honest. How on earth can you quanitify either of these sentences?
Luai has been a great leader off the field and has played the role on the field he has been asked to.
No he has not been a good off field leader. He started the pile on which has led to a legal warning letter. He looked like a jilted lover at the official presser the week of the contract rejection and then led the team to a very dissappointing loos against the worst team in the comp.
If he wants to be Batman, he needs to STFU and do some god damned work.
As many have said previously, the quicker Galvin is out, the quicker we see Luai take control in the way you want him too..
Again, this is just BS conjecture. Galvin isnt the sole reason we are playing so poorly. Our severe lack of depth, which will only get worse when he leaves, is catching up with the team. May, Bula and sometimes Turuva have carried this side all year. They are running out of juice.
But you want to double down and say he's not a leader..

You have zero idea what the game plan is. How can you be so arrogant as to use it as an argument? LMFAO.

Its only a 5 year plan if he stays here. He has get out clauses remember? Good leadership would have been nullifying them when this all happened to show the rest of the squad he was committed. Instead he just told them he was. Good leaders operate by example. He is so far just full of hot air.
Give the guy a fkn break
Ok. Maybe I should just kick into a 19 year old because Im upset he didnt sign on with us?
I mean expecting better from one of the highest paid players in the world is very unfair...wake up!

Woah, but take the "emotion" out of it, what has he really done Kelce?
