Just like the Club was well within it's rights to rip the band aid off & say it for what it is. Galvin had rejected the clubs offer & said they were not willing to entertain any offer from WT's. What were they supposed to do just sit on this news till the end of the season? I agree with you that the players response was poor to this & only fuelled all the drama but again Galvin & his team had publicly disrespected the teams head coach who was a big factor for a lot of the players coming over to the club & a figure who is well liked amongst the senior players of the group. I don't understand how you are trying to make this out like it's all the clubs fault & Galvin has had no part in this.

Kepaoa was awful and appears well down the pecking order at Penrith too
Simpkin was told he was behind Da Silva?
Bateman overpaid
Papali'i overpaid
Klemmer overpaid and had a clause.

As you wrote, the initial statement had some defiance, and was most likely written with the emotion of the event. It had to be written better. As soon as he disrespected the club, coach, and team, he had to go. It was never going to work medium to long term.

Absolutely - the Bulldogs turned over their whole roster over a two year period and bought what most people said were second rate depth players that didn't have a position, and placed them around a few quality players.
Now it was genius. Hindsight.
Losing Stef was a blow but replaced with someone far more valuable and the Galvin sitiation is not surprising but the crap associated with it is about as low as you can go and Im backing the clubs desire to rid it's self of the name asap.

Interesting when news broke a few days, there was mention of a transfer fee AND/or a player swap....

Then the following day, with discussions on 360 also, the player swap discussion was not mentioned again.

It also must be remembered, we offered Stefano a very nice contract extension and he took less to go elsewhere.

Am I correct in saying then, that you don't believe the Galvin camp engaged in any behaviour that undermined reputations of the club or individuals at the club over the process?

Way I see it is the litigation threated by Moses has some degree of merit,or otherwise we wld ask for a lot more than $165k fee
Were giving up effectively a $800k player,,PLUS all next year ...the total contractual cost to us wld have been around $450 in total for his remaining 18 mths contract
So what were giving up financially is well over half a mill $$ ,,for $165
Moses wins again
Thats the price of going down the litigation distraction plus distraction to the team environment
Financially its quite an imposing penalty,but sometimes youve just gotta cut the cancer out and move on regardless of $$

I think that, along with the language around 'development at another club', is where the entirety of offensive began from the club's perspective.

The articles that came out in the days following, of which there were several, all had angles alluding to deficiencies in Marshall's or his team's coaching ability, didn't help matters.

Dogs have had some real wins with their pathway players really stepping up.

Hayward, Hayes, Smith, Hughes... they've had a bunch of players really show something.

Leo Thompson is a good get also.

Their has been some fails along the way though. Hutchinson, Turpin, Taaf, Amone. All these players will leave at the end of their contracts (end of the year) aside from Amone shos already left.

For all the talk of being firm regarding Galvin playing out his contract to the end of 2026, the group and relationship dynamics were always going to suffer with the way it went down.

There are other factors at play for the team's form slump recently - one obvious one is the lack of depth in the forwards - but the Galvin situation is contributing to it.

The fee is set to ensure he goes before June 30. Yes, WT are being reamed yet again, but the sooner he leaves the club, the better.

We aren't being reamed, LG might no be as good as he thinks, he hasn't really BLOWN my mind , yeah definitely some quality stuff but still not consistently ..and a leopard don't change it's strips so we actually could be dodging a bullet,he can take his poor attitude and grubby support group and disrupt another club once it doesn't go all his way, remember there's no I in team but there is a M and a E as far a Galvin see's it.This is his second season and he's predictable, running sideways ,grabber kicks that aren't on ,pour defence ,quick hands that are way to hard to catch and dropping the ball over the line ...unless he's pushing for the release of course.

Hopefully Api & Jerome, as well as the rest of the squad can continually show this isn't the case and we are a club on the rise.

Not if you are professional. If there has been any inkling at training that things arent working than the coach should have acted before we copped a 64 point drubbing and a 4 try to 2 loss to a team that is significantly weakened. If the player group is split, then management should have acted.
Moving this kid on is putting a bandaid on a broken leg. Considering his ability, the team is being weakened due to this lack of action.

I don't know how many footy sides you have played in Tucker, but how would you feel playing with someone who threatens legal action if he thinks you bullied him? It's a common practice in rugby league for players to call out team members for what they believe was an error. Galvin or his carers have brought this on themselves, and his place in the side is untenable in my opinion. I guess we will never know if this was their plan.

Maybe it’s just me, but if I was trying to throw a game when it’s on the line, I’d be more likely to throw a pass into the 5th row than going hard at the line and just barely losing the ball.

If someone is seriously bullied they would not agree to not follow through with the claim. They are making a mockery of the term.
The players , coach, and club want to wipe their hands of them knowing he is not committed - including giving any time to an alleged bully claim that suddenly emerged after Parra and Bulldogs released players and have available spots to fill prior to June 30.
