OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Those kids both debuted far too early as did others like Matamua, Lauli’i etc Way, way ahead of time. It could have had detrimental affects on their careers, I find it strange that they should be thanking Benji for their first grade starts. They were always going to make it through the proper pathways.
As for Benji and Robbie…They were loyal because they ran the joint. As soon as this wasn’t the case anymore, they both left.
Perhaps I'm viewing it through my own lens but Marshall and Farah were two of the most outstanding footballers produced NRL wide. Just because you happen to play 5/8 or hooker for WTs, doesn't mean you are anywhere near as good as these two regardless of when you make your debut. I recall Marshall and Farah making sacrifices for the club.

There is a lot of hurt among supporters about the Galvin saga.
Because of the way he was given the red carpet treatment , he positioned above IMO more talented kids like the large boys and Fainu .
He was bought when no one wanted him , he has had endless resources pumped into him only for him to turn his back on all that .
And ultimately how the fudge would a 19 year old , a former Stadium Australia assistant manager , and his family to be honest , know if Benjis coaching works or doesn’t work .
And I refuse to accept the opinion of a dickhead from North Queensland , who has never played in these junior districts , doesn’t know the how important the tigers are to the Balmain district , and wests are to the Campbelltown district , and the history especially in wests of juniors having their heads turned before anybody can reasonably assess anything .
And the fact that at the start of the year the guy was all about how Galvin wasn’t good and we were all going to have egg on our face when he left , just proves he’s only on here to stir shit .
He’s the ultimate loser . Imagine going on an opposing teams forum day in and day out just to argue about stupid shit , to stir up people , who grew up with this club in their dna. Who’s family played in the districts , who wore the jerseys when they were younger , who went to the AGMs to vote the merger , who take thier kids to games (the guy has never been to a tigers game ) .
He’s the equivalent of a fan yelling abusive shit from the nose bleed sections . He has zero skin in the game .
And it frustrates the hell out of me that he deliberately pulls on the strings of guys on here , to stir them up .
I’ve been pretty consistent in my opinion , Latu is a better footballer , it like Jedi keeps pointing out , his body is a real concern . That could just be growing pains . I’ve never felt emotional one way or the other about him , because frankly I think he’s replaceable . Especially at 6 . If you’re going to tell me he’s going to turn into Isaiah Yeo 2.0 , and a leader amongst men , with his current attitude , I seriously doubt it .
Purely because he doesn’t seem to get teams . You can tell by his history in the juniors with swapping clubs . I mean it’s worked for him , he’s where he wanted to be , but to me , I’ve always said he screams Jackson Hastings more than he screams Isaiah Yeo or Scott Hill .
And for a mil a season we would have put a big anchor around our neck , and empowered an entitled kid and family , and their already zero Fs given manager , to even more destabilising control around the team .
The issue with the original boys club wasn’t that the boys club existed . It exists at every club . The issue was the wrong people had control , and were making decisions in their best interests not the clubs. Like overweight Benji , had a huge ego problem at the time . He needed to fall off his perch , to understand what I’m saying is true to its core .
He’s a great leader now because of this . Like I keep saying the youth is wasted on the young , and I’m very sure in one way or another Galvin will regret the way this turned out .
I honestly wish him well , but the tribalism of this game will never allow this stigma to leave him . People still talk about Moses in the same way . Teddy gets a pass for most because everyone understood . Woods also is another who every time that guy speaks people want to chuck rocks at him . Why ? Because much like Galvin he was given the keys to the castle , and rightly or wrongly , he spat in the clubs face . He says oh it was because of all the bullshit at board level , which may or may not be true , but you can tell that he has huge regrets with the way he left the club , and even on a personal level it pretty torpedoed his career .
I’m sure Galvin is hearing all kinds of grass is greener stories from the Moses family , but man , have a look at Aaron Woods and you see a very clear situation of how it could all go very wrong .
Anyways . Just my rant on the whole situation. No hate for kid at all . Just that this behaviour is taboo in sport . Doesn’t even happen in EPL , or European football , the most cut throat money driven sport in the world . Which tells you something . There’s unwritten rules to this shit . And Galvin has broken one of the big ones . Now it’s time to face the consequences .

I think we are saying the same thing. TDS and Galvin should have only debuted this year. They aren’t as good as Benji and Robbie at the same age, I absolutely agree.
Where we differ is I don’t think they should have to show loyalty simply because we debuted them early. It is a very old fashioned concept.
Go on LinkedIn and look at the profiles of young professionals in their mid 20’s. They’ve all had half a dozen jobs, none lasting more than 24 months. It’s the way of the world.

Hi guys haven't been up to date with what's happening with him regarding a possible player swap and who we could be looking at, unfortunately we've had a bit going on up here in taree this week
Hey man, hope everything is well down there. Looks pretty dire on the tele.
All that’s been reported is that Galvin has sat down with both Parra and the Dogs, and received offers in the $700-750k range. It seems likely he’ll leave soon as long as a transfer fee of $165k is paid.

I have no objection to players putting themselves on the market when they are legally entitled to do so, noting the $165k transfer fee applied to Galvin. That is my issue with this Galvin saga. This concept may be old-fashioned to you but I kind of like it.

We also disagree with "at the same age" in relation to Marshall and Farah😁

Looks like no swap will occur...dogs and eels have made offers apparently $750k...we have put a $165k tranfer fee on him.
The rest is just blowhards measuring dicks.

Hope you're all.doing ok with the big wet

It’s not old fashioned at all . Sports is its own thing , and has and always will be, operate on a different moral and ethical landscape . You don’t break contract , you don’t bag your club , and you don’t go and sign for your teams rival .
Break any of those tenants and you’re putting yourself in harms way , with the fans and the zeitgeist .
It’s just the way it is .

I'll be glad when this whole thing is over and the guys who are committed to the struggle can focus on the challenge again.

Also be good when those in the Galvin camp stop pretending to be supporters on a forum and get back to being fathers and managers etc.

The kid is going to need it as the way it has been conducted has turned him from the brightest star in the game lived by other fan bases to a supposed self centered brat. These things stick in this game and any poor form from here on out with Galvin will come with added criticism and doubts about his ability to buy in.

Good luck kid, now piss off. We don't want players like you and will move forward regardless.
100% I have never taken the view that the club is blameless in this but will never understand those who think that Galvin is.

He isn't a victim, he is an adult. He can vote, be enlisted, if he was to commit a serious crime he would go to jail.

People need to stop advocating that he is a victim of the big bad West's Tigers. The guy played us for a fiddle plain and simple.

Could get a run in Parras development system and they told him to piss off. He came here put himself in the shop window and pissed of as soon as he hit peak value.

Where ever he goes from here he won't be the golden boy and will have to put his ego in check. He won't be able to sook if he isn't on the left or not getting enough ball. Hell have play structure no more eyes up footy an he won't be the top dog.

Look how the Bulldogs treated Torpanie and old mate Karl O if he doesn't fit in or gets a serious injured or perhaps even if he looks "tired" they will be ruthless as other clubs have been such as the roosters with Smith and young who were both established first graders.

He and his camp have been across with full knowledge and support of his management strategy, he simply dose not getting a free pass. He is an adult and Mosses works for him end of story, Mosses can't do shit without his clients blessing.

I’m really not sure where this narrative is coming from that once he leaves, he’s find it hard and be miserable yada yada. Just feels like a coping mechanism. Wherever he goes he’ll be on good money, most likely in a good team. I’m not happy about it, but as a now infamous doofus once proclaimed “It is what it is”. Life will go on.

Yeah thanks tucker been a horrible week for some and months or years for the people of taree to recover from this ,unfortunately some won't, I'm one of the lucky ones who live out of town, 4 days isolated with no power, was able to catch up with a bit of this Galvin saga last night, my take on this is even though he's not totally innocent I don't think isacc Moses is totally to blame, I believe that that piece of human excrement Phil Gould has been courting and grooming him and his family all along whilst lying to the face of the rugby league community we've unfortunately lost five lives up here during this flood crisis, I wish Gould was one of them, not nice I know but it highlights the hate I have for the man

Are you proving you're naive?

Did you want the club to explicitly state he is on the market, and only suitable player swaps will be considered? Rival clubs would've laughed.

Reason the club didn't slap a transfer fee and allow him to negotiate with clubs on him 14th April, was because of the parties involved and a 'perception' that WT is soft and this had to change. But this was always going to be the outcome. The difference is it's been a slow car crash which has made Benji's job harder in the past 6 weeks, and potentially changed the dynamic of player/coach relationships for the rest of the season.
No mate. You said the club stated emphatically that Galvin would see out his contract, which they did. Richo even threatened legal action if other clubs approached him. And now he might not even see out 25. Sugarcoat it if you have to, but they have backtracked.
