OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Aura signings 😂

Gould not enjoying social media lately...

"Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould says the NRL and clubs need to join forces to ban fans and members from games who are using social media to vilify and defame players.
Gould is sick of so-called supporters using platforms such as Instagram to attack players and go on rants that are clearly breaking the laws of defamation. He has seen the impact it has on players at his club and has had feedback from rivals about the rise of supporters who rant to their followers about players who they think are not delivering on the field."

From Gould's loyal servant, Weidler in the SMH

Also Weidler is concerned that Anasta has a duel role as player agent and NRL commentator. Damn imagine using a media role for self promotion and to the interests of your other job! Who would do that??...

"Braith Anasta has been accused of being thin-skinned and conflicted by the man who used to sit alongside him on his pay TV rugby league show.

The issue is as an agent who was going in to bat for his client, Anasta should not have expressed his opinion publicly on the matter, or at the very least, declared every time that he was speaking as an agent not as a host."

Man I was on this so early ! Like 3 games into playing for us . All I saw was a fitter and lankier Jackson Hastings . As soon as people started talking about 70-80 touches a game (Hastings was 100) without ever bringing up the quality nor even the necessity for said touches that was the big give away . I was also extremely early on Hastings when everyone on here was on his bandwagon .
The more you touch the ball , the more predictable you become . You can create tries simply by being the link man put the back , or running perfect lines , with in and out variations at the line to appear to be getting the ball . Galvin does none of those things.
He over calls like crazy , when it’s not on . His ego is not a positive thing. He’s constantly playing hero ball in his head . But he’s not Michael Jordan . And this isn’t basketball . You need to have mad tickets on yourself to get to that level , but he seems to lack the nuance (that it’s actually a team game ) that makes even the most maniacal egomaniacs like John’s and Fittler legends of the game .
He’s not the first extremely talented hero complex footy player . And nearly all to a man fail . Why? Because they forget there’s another 12 blokes out there who are just as talented as you are .

It's so obvious he is not a halfback and i hope the Dogs continue to play him there to their own detriment. He is a good 6 that needs an organiser inside him so he can play his heads up style of play. Putting him at halfback gives him way too much ball and decisions to make which often lead to him overplaying his hand.

There was a telling moment in Ciraldo's presser where he inadvertently admitted that he wasn't a halfback but referred to him as "a 20 year-old half" when questioned about it - refused to use the word halfback.

All fair points but I think it’s also fair to recognise that the there is a vast difference between Galvin at the Tigers & Galvin at the Dogs. Some of the stuff he was doing straight out of high school was pretty incredible & I think we were all rightly excited by him. Even last year he had already racked up 10+ try assists by the time he left us.

Funnily enough I actually think the biggest difference is coaching (ironic isn’t it) Benji allowed him to play with confidence & just play eyes up footy which suits his game to a tee. Ciro & the Bulldogs attack is very structured so trying to play ad lib footy does not work in that system. It’s clear that Galvin does not suit that structure & when he does try to play that eyes up footy no one is there with him because the attack is so structured.

Galvin will still be a good player imo, but he made a mistake not going to the Panthers or Eels to play 6

He is a second fiddle not your main playmaker

It was honestly a blessing in disguise for us because Luai and Galvin wouldn’t of worked out
stupid for him not to have gone to parramatta
Luke Vella was the huge family influence.to join the dogs, the family worship the.bloke apparently

Team Galvin shopped themselves to the Panthers but they didnt want him. He never had the option.
He’s one kid I will death ride . As he’s not humble , he’s not a good bloke and his dad is worse . I don’t have any empathy for disloyalty .
I never had an issue with him saying he didn’t rate Benji if that’s what the real issue is .
But I’m just gonna say it , the real reason I heard on the grape vine is there was too many Polynesians at the club , and that’s what his real issue was. The implication was he wasn’t going to get a fair go cause he’s white . Which is ridiculous because the god damn team was built around him .
I’ve said it before it all kicked off when we signed the Fainus . And regardless if Latu kicks on in the halves or becomes a victor Radley type and moves to the middle … as if any one who wasn’t a white pointed hood wearing , Nazi flag waving . space cadet would ever not bring the Fainus in. The way Benji has got buy in from them and the May boys is amazing . They all had knocks on them for being shitheads . Which who knows what’s true . I have my real suspicions as to the motivation of those rumours.
It’s to all these , well bullshit a drama , that IMHO forms a real distaste in my mouth . Luke L . He’s on his way to Perth . I hope he kills it . Can’t keep them all. Even TDS, he got a life changing offer from the eels (which is typical eels backroom dealing) , and I don’t really begrudge him as I think Heyward will wear the blues jersey one day , and TDS is at this very moment a poor man’s Jacob liddle . And I think he was reading tea leaves a bit re. The messaging probably changed from “you’re the greatest , next Robbie “ to “you’ve got X Y Z to work on “, and Heyward is only 2 years younger.
Do I wish he didn’t quit mid season . Of course . But I sort of get the club ultimatum around Api , as the big dollar deal was there for him right now , an in 2-3 years there was a real chance Heyward would have gone past him, thus decreasing his value on the market .
But yea …the new facilities at LO should be named the Morrison Galvin Memorial toilet blocks . Haha

You gave me a great idea....signs for toilet entry (Galvin) and exit (Galvout)

On the footy. One of the dogs better players INDIVIDUALLY, but does not fit their style and honestly felt he wouldnt be a long term half even in his debut year, when he was generating a lot of excitement

Watch the eyes of the Dogs' player when the question about Galvin was asked to Ciraldo.

Said weeks ago he should have signed with the eels and played outside Moses and learned his trade. Anyway he will become a very serviceable NRL player without doubt, super star, doubt it.

As for Gus being upset about verbal abuse from online platforms directed at players, and probably means Galvin, we’ll team Galvin leaked some nasty stuff about our coach and fellow players on social media. You can’t have it both ways. Personally I think you have to be careful what you say about players and referees and not get personal, but of course through wit and humour you can get the same message across

Eels really would of suited him as an eyes up running 5/8

Mate this is the trap I’m talking about. He over calls and stats chases . You can say “he’s one of the best “ but what does that even mean ? Samuelas stats aren’t the best , but he’s clearly one of the best players very weak . He’s constantly around the ball , runs his lines , influences defensive structures by his presence , kick chases hard , fights for yards both defensively and offensively an affects outcomes.
I’ll give you an example what I’m talking about; in the game the other night , the dogs made a break they were down by 12 , had extreme numbers down the left , and it just needed to shift . The broncos stacked the short side defensively . Was that an accident ? I don’t think it was . Because instead of the ball going where it should have , Galvin overcalls and the set just falls into a heap. It was selfish footy .
You could say that’s an isolated moment . But I say the only thing that was isolated was the obviousness of it . How many times a game does that happen , when there’s half chances others can take advantage of , but he overalls and the ball comes his way .If you go back through when he played here this is the thing that infuriated me about him, especially when he played with Api.
As the golden rule at dummy half is you have to give the ball to the overcall , but api stopped doing it , because it was 5 times a set . Which led to sulking and bullshit .
Heyward is new to 9 . And I think this is what the issue. Exactly like Hastings . They simply don’t allow others to succeed . Whether it’s because they think they know better or something more sinister .
But yea “he’s one of thier best “ is just not true . In my opinion .
