OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277

If no one else is competing for Galvin other than Parramatta, surely they get him for less than our offer.

Wonder what Galvin Snr would think about that, would laugh if that ended up being the case.

Doesn't matter to Isaac Moses, he still gets a bigger commission than he's currently on, plus the bonus of another unethical grubby win.

We have been caught out by poor management.

Matamua & Tumeth are examples of us signing great junior rep stars (Seyfarth was the same) to long term contracts.

Unfortunately they are so bad we cannot get another club to take them & don't want them around. Should have paid the contracts out

You’d have to think the deal is as good as over the line and Moses has tipped off interested parties such as Gus.

You could find loads of things at a footy club that would, on paper, look like bullying, especially when compared to the threshhold of an office worker.

This was planned long ago. The dossier part stinks of it. He was building a case against the club behind our backs and never once mentioned anything to us.
Says alot about the character of Lachlan and his family.

Benji came out and defended them .

Mr Galvin if you are reading this, your kid may have talent but you never did, ya stage dad 🤣🤣🤣

Chammas and Gould have said there are much bigger issues being touted in the background.

At the same, the bulldogs withdrew themselves from the race.

WTF is going on?
Just watching now...Gould said "Benji made Galvin stand in front of the group and explain why he wants to leave"

More lies from Gould

Benji himself has said Galvin was under no obligation and didnt have to if he didnt want to, but Galvin did...and it didnt go well

Yet some still want him in the team

I think they know there's going to be an investigation into anti tampering

Even the way Ryles has been openly talking about it could be seen as courting

When they say ugly, it's ugly for both sides.

Parramatta if caught out here might be getting the spoon by default for the next 2 seasons.

I can’t see a world where the NRL goes into bat for Wests Tigers against a money club.

I think you have to select Galvin to see what he is made of. If he tanks it turns the talk from him being a victim to being in on the manipulation . If you don't pick him it plays right into the victimisation angle.
Our blokes have to put their big boys pants and get on with what they are paid to do.
I’d give it one more week then do it. Anything done this week is just reacting to either the loss or the pressure. It would be a stronger message if Latu is available and Galvin is picked along with him.

Lachlan Galvin Saga…
Here is an update from behind the scenes for our footy loving folk at Ned Ryerson.

Lachie Galvin is not the problem per se. His father is. It is quite well known - and has been for a long time- in junior league circles in particular.

I have it on very good authority, from a source I trust implicitly, Galvin’s dad is known in polite terms as a complete lunatic.

My source’s sons both played with the Galvin boys. One of them still referees with the youngest of the Galvin’s (there are 3 of them). They know them well and have seen the father in live action many times.

He is the kind of footy Dad that abuses all the junior coaches of his boys, the opposition, the officials and has frequently entered the field and dragged his kids from games. Not at half time mind you, but quite literally walks onto the field, grabs his son and takes off. To another game and/or club sometimes.

His kids have changed clubs frequently because the father reckons they are not being coached properly, nor is everything run on the field to benefit his kids. ‘The idiots coach his kids wrong’.

He has been the same for years and is an absolute nightmare for all involved.

Now, in the not too distant past, apparently Galvin’s Dad forced his way into the Tigers dressing room at half time and started a full blown rant at Benji Marshall basically yelling that he was coaching his son all wrong and basically had no idea how to coach. This was in front of the playing group, as Benji was addressing them.

The players were obviously not impressed. Nor Benji. Nor the club, and it was kept pretty much kept under wraps.

The Tigers players, while not enamoured with Lachlan Galvin himself, have a much larger issue with his father. As does the club. He is basically the quintessential footy father lunatic. Mad Eels man to boot.

The Tigers, understanding the media fall out if they were to lose the talented kid (especially having Tedesco, Moses etc) ripped away previously, brought it all to a head in the past 2 weeks.

Richardson arranged the meeting with Isaac Moses. He put the huge offer on the table knowing that Galvin senior would either accept the offer and fall into line at the club, or tell the Tigers where to go. We all know which road they chose.

In short, the Galvin’s are a cancer at the club and Richardson (being the smart old head he is) knew it had to be fixed fast. For the good of the club. The Tigers also got to save face by offering such a huge amount for such a young, under the thumb, player. Knowing pretty much he wasn’t going to be there.

Nor were they sure if they were happy to put up with the kid’s old man, and at what cost to the Tigers team as a whole?

The latest week of court threats etc are all designed to get Galvin out quickly. I think everyone can see that.

Whether Isaac Moses (not highly regarded by many - a leech on the game) planned this himself or with Galvin’s father’s hand in the middle of his back is up for debate. But it is all designed to make as much noise as possible to get his son out fast.

The Tigers know this. They realise they’ll be letting him go, but will do it at their pace. In their own way. They’ll make it difficult - just to shove it up Galvin senior’s ass - if nothing else.

They would also obviously like something (a player, monetary compensation etc) in return if they can get it. Richardson is no new age greenhorn. He has a temper too. Be interesting to see which way it goes.

To help Lachlan Galvin out, Moses & Galvin Snr have now brought in 2 other, lesser regarded team mates, to also make claims against the Tigers.

Bad move on those players parts as they are fringe first graders and quite frankly the Galvin’s & Moses don’t give a rat’s ass about them personally. They just need them as a means to getting what the Galvin’s want today.

Possibly the end of 1st grade career for those 2 boys too, if regarded as trouble makers.

Interestingly, Gould has come out this morning saying Bulldogs now have no interest in Galvin. Or his asking price I imagine. (How stuffed is the halves market now thanks to the Knights & Dylan Brown!).

Wily old man is Phil. If the kid wants to play at the Bulldogs let him come out and say it. The Dogs may just get him for $800k a year if that is the case. He wants to go there after all. Salary cap says that’s what they have for him.

Perhaps Ciraldo - very much a team dynamics man - knows that Galvin brings much more baggage than talent. I’m sure Ciraldo stays in contact with Luai, Koroisau et al pretty regularly. He at least knows them if seeking an opinion on Galvin’s situation.

In the end, the Lachlan Galvin is just a kid. He would barely know the real world.

As a Tigers fan I understand his ignorance. Won’t help him reach his potential though, being ignorant, until it is too late. Possible if his dad gets black listed by clubs.

Problem is, whoever does sign him, they will be getting some serious footy talent. That’s great.

They will also be getting the lunatic and the leech, at a massive price. That’s not great.

Worth the risk? I guess time will tell…

That’s just what the grapevine is saying fellas. True or not, it’s a decent yarn!

I don't think he was trying to have a crack at Benji there, it just wasn't a great choice of words. Gould seems to know there's alot more to come out as well... I'm very curious as to what this all is.

There's alot of unknowns about how this has played out via the media.

I reckon the playing group probably went to Benji and said fk this kid we don't want to play with him... But to save face they said Benji made the call.. but that's just my theory based on absolutely nothing

Get rid of this fungus, it's destroying our Team,

LET HIM GO, GET RID OF THIS SHIT, NOT WORTH DESTROYING OUR CLUB FOR ANOTHER 18 MONTHS,

Next,
they will be trying to sack Benji.

wooden spoon number 4 coming if we keep this going the way it currently is.

I can't see anyway he could be in our top side again with all this animosity that has built up not only in the playing group,
But with the supporter base as well.

Ryles post game with that smug grin saying they want Galvin really did it for me. Is that really allowed? Its just so off putting!

It’s honestly really killing my love for the game. The villains always win while the nrl does nothing. I have faith in Richo and the new group but if it all goes up in flames for us I’m not sure how much I have left. We have sucked forever with zero in return and we just keep on getting hit with the coward punches. It’s not easy being a tigers fan sigh.

If this is true, it gives great context to the entire situation.

Surely someone here can validate whether Galvins dad went into the dressing room at halftime of an NRL match?

If so, poor Lachlan, I genuinely feel for him as a kid now. Imagine having a parent like that.

I think you are right; however, he did not play that well in KOE from what I watched. He does want to be involved in every play, but half of his run metres would be sideways.

Fits the narrative. We've all seen those types of fathers around kids sports, this is an absolutely insane case of it, if true.

He'll never play another 1st grade match for tigers, again, if true. The staunch reaction from our players this week fits the narrative.

He may never play another 1st grade at all. I could be completely wrong on this but, if I were coach/ceo of another club, I wouldn't even be considering bringing this circus of crap into my organisation.

Now the hard part is Richo has to sell this drama to another club, I feel only the desperate will pick him up, and that's at the end of 2026, with no trade.

Just speculation thoughts. No doubt we'll more drama throughout the week.
