OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277

Refused to look at/acknowledge a 6 mill contract that involves weeks of work involving sponsors legal teams and then no courtesy of at least taking the GMs calls after the club has rolled out the red carpet for their son with a long-term view of building a club a team around him - ok yep Ive formed a view.
Which to me, indicates a deal is already done. But what can we do?

I also think that they enjoy wearing the badge of being the calm heads and 'bigger person' throughout his last 18 months, always talking him up in the face of complaints, release requests, etc.

They let the mask slip a little in the last week through emotion, but they've quickly recalibrated and fallen back into the 'they're good people' narrative.

I think that entire messaging publicly is only about perception. I think they believed that if they kept up that line of thinking for long enough, he'd eventually come around and commit long term.
Well the alternative is they shit talk them and spend every day in the media being accused of god knows what and then being forced to release him with no compensation.
I said last week, we hold the cards here and I still believe it. We will get 18 months of footy out of this kid for half a million dollars if we manage it properly. We may also swap him out for rep level player/s.
That’s what they are doing.

I'm not saying they're not playing it right, I'm simply saying I don't think they believe what they're saying.

Which I'm perfectly ok with if the club comes out on top.

Do you think LM's decision has anything to do with the players he's playing with, during James Graham's podcast, Richo said (52:30min) 'it may be the players he's playing with'.

I think there is something there, especially Luia. Good player but possibly not the best captain/bloke.

Obviously, not sure but........just a feeling. And he's there for four more years.

I think he meant he will possibly join Parra due to wanting to play with certain players there, rather than the coaching.

Galvin is the fittest player in the club, loves playing footy, undoubtedly plays his best when out there and smiles when he plays. And we have a problem with that?

My problem with Galvin is that he's still raw and if we're devoting time to him we want commitment, otherwise we go Latu. I was also happy to see doueihi given a shot and would have loved for him to play well. But he didn't and Latu is injured so I'm very glad Galvin is back. We were pedestrian without him and it was a real eye opener how much we already depend on a 19 year old. I think Benji had a similar impact on our play when he was in or out.

I'm excited by Latu but our poor play against the eels made me more upset by losing Galvin.

All the bullying and complaints stuff is peripheral to any of that and we as fans should respect the fact he puts in for our club. That's all he's obliged to do.

This is very different to the way Moses and woods stunk it up and trashed their name before leaving our club.

It's bandwagon stupidity jumping on media shouting to boo him this weekend. I think silence is fair and that's what I'll be doing. Even if you want to boo, you shouldn't because it will make our club look bad and serve Isaac Moses' agenda.

This is a crucial game for Benji and our club, we want Galvin to play well.

Unless they are paying him north of 1.2mill per year + 3rd party agreements there must be something going on there we aren’t aware of.

Kids got the attention span of a cricket, Playing for Parra is all he's ever wanted to do.
They've just floated his (And the Familys') ego enough to make him think he's going to be the new
Parra Hayne Plane and they've swallowed it.
Wouldn't have been hard at all...

1 GF loss isn’t a lofty height to aspire to. Mitch Moses has done that.

And Richo has to say his dad is a great guy, so we don't look like sore losers. His dad sounds like a selfish prick. Karma always comes back to haunt or bless you. Hoping Parra never make the 8 for the next 10 years.

Dam straight Hank.
The family car, 1986 Mazda 808, Bob they call it, needs new brakes.
Good model that, they were made to last, not like Jr Galvin's stay at the Wests Tigers, although Richo seems to think that he will last another 18 months, could require a lot of maintenance in that time though. 🤣

1000%!!! the public comments from the club about the Galvin's being good people isn't reflected in their reported actions.

Good debriefing Tucker.
I would like to add, the likely tipping point may have been the way Tim Sheens was treated? The constant changing of his job description followed by an unceremonious sacking. A legend of the game who had Galvin’s footballing future mapped out for him. All of his dreams and aspirations at Tigers became a puff of vapour as the club started stockpiling halves.
Benji was the one who gave him his start in NRL
Not Tim Sheens
