Danny Weidler and Michael Chammas story is still on line

At what point can they be pursued legally either by the club or affected players given the club report they and their families were very upset. Obviously didn’t verify before going to print
Why isn’t the club taking legal action against the media organisations that printed the garbage. Reputations have been damaged along with our brand name. Time to get on the front foot with the gutter NRL journalists.

It would be nice to see the NRL step in as they give these gutter journalists accreditation to cover NRL games and access to players and coaches. Of course pigs might fly to

This is exactly what happened after the last drama with Moses teddy etc.
Didn't help us much.
We should stay on the same path but try to be better at keeping our juniors
Which is why we need to keep Moses out.

Crying out loud. We had Bula signed to a local player agent. We found him and got him an agent. Then he signs with Moses, due to Galvin/Bateman/etc.

It's nto that we have lost Galvin... We have likely lost Bula too because we let this dodgy agent back into our club!

Smart to name him. Deals with the bullying talk and puts in on Galvin to pull out if he has a problem. It's a win win
It's easy enough - was Doueihi good at HB last week, and if he was you can leave Galvin out. But unfortunately he wasn't, and until Latu is regular fit we need to always consider the halves we have.

Also if the kid really isn't being released then we need to extract as much value from him as we can, for 18 months.

Whenever Latu is fit he should be first choice.

I will be at Leichhardt and will not be booing Galvin. That's poor form in my opinion, they're wearing our jersey. There's business and then there's footy.

Don't boo.

When he leaves is okay. I find it cathartic when woods and Moses play at Leichhardt.
I will boo whomever I please.

You boo him at the start to express yourself, but you get over that once the match kicks off.

RE Matamua and Tumeth
A Chammas statement on 100% footy
“"I think (their issue is) with the club in general, the football department, and whether they should be in the mix (for first grade) and not sent down to Sydney Shield."
It has been stated by the club that neither player or their families have requested any investigation.
So if true, a manager (Moses ??) has done so without his clients approval
Or the RLPA is ‘independently’ investigating, with the prompting of someone ???
And the NRL sits back blind to what’s going on

I find it very disheartening that the NRL has been silent. Where are they in this? What a rotten system
I think generally the NRL sit back and do nothing until they receive a formal complaint. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re waiting on some hard evidence of a breach of anti-tampering rules before asking the NRL to investigate.

Last year when team Galvin basically demanded an overhaul of our assistant coaching roster is probably the key to this saga. He obviously wanted Vella or someone like Larkins to be given a gig. When it turned out to be Hogo and Rhino, this upset the apple cart.

From where I sit, if Galvin had basically said I am rejecting the offer and going to the market in November. I would like to thank the Weststigers and everyone involved in my NRL journey but in my heart I think it’s time to move on at the end of my contract. As a fan of course I would be disappointed but that’s football. Sadly to try and justify your actions by trashing the coach is a very low act and reflects Galvin in a terrible light. I think both Moses and his Parents are probably the ones at fault who have pushed Galvin down this path.

The NRL world is a fickle place, at present the pro Galvin and anti Galvin news has dominated the press, but in a week or two it will hardly rate a mention and Galvin will probably get a release

It's the old Isaac Moses trick. We employed Joe Webhe in order to keep the big 4 back in the day. Still didn't work. Another Pascoe masterclass.

The minute you make it incumbent on the club to change things around in order to keep players, you're ruined. But you're 100% correct, its just that it's all smoke and mirrors to generate fake reasons to drive a player from a club.

Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story

The idea of Galvin being back in the team after he has disrespected his coach, is disliked by the senior playing group and is pursuing legal action against the club doesn’t make sense to me, unless they have been forced to reinstate him due to the legal action.

Perhaps we are seeing the following play out:
  • A letter is issued to the club requesting that Galvin be reinstated on first grade as the demotion, when his form didn’t warrant demotion, and subsequent comments by players is considered bullying.
  • Galvin has a case, Richardson instructs everyone to cease commenting on Galvin and requests Galvin be reinstated in first grade, against the wishes of Benji and the senior players.
  • Team are now walking on egg shells around Galvin due to concern that their behaviour is being scrutinised and May be interpreted as bullying. Subsequently there is no team harmony and cohesion.
  • Galvin will continue to try his best in a team where he is disliked, where he struggles for cohesion with Api and Luai, however will not be dropped for fear of legal action.
  • Tigers struggle to win another game whilst this continues.
  • Tigers eventually succumb to the release request to restore team harmony and Galvin joins the Eels.
Hope this isn’t the case, but seems plausible… Guess we will know more on Sunday.

For the record, I am comfortable with booing Galvin on Sunday, he lacks integrity and his desire to not fulfil his contractual obligations is negatively impacting our club.

Nrl needs to introduce a rule where any player asking for a release due to mental health reason should have to take a mandatory break from the game and must spend time with a health care specialist until cleared to return, this way the sport is truely looking after the well being of players and the RLPA should support it.
