OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277

“Danny, I invite you to appear as a guest on Wests Tigers Podcast,” he wrote. “We are the group that initiated the petition that led to the review of Wests Tigers. We find your constant one-sided articles defending and promoting Isaac Moses the lowest form of journalism and a blight on our great game.

“Despite our reluctance to pay any attention to your articles, we would like to debate your point of view. We will be fair, professional and courteous, giving you time and space to air your point of view. Surely a man of your experience would relish the opportunity to debate a hot issue against “fans on the hill” as [News Corp journalist] David Riccio likes to describe us.

“We will let our 3000 an episode audience know we have extended this invitation to you.”

Moses is Galvin’s manager. The first time in a decade that Moses responded to a message I sent him was a couple of weeks ago. He told me he was so surprised that he laughed when he read it.

Moses will tell anyone who will listen that I’ve given him considerable grief over the years. But it’s my job to get both sides of the Galvin story, and Moses has done what his client has asked him to do.

And if anyone is responsible for this story exploding, it’s the Tigers, who made it Benji-focused.

Can we all stop reading the tea leaves on TDS and Galvin.
They left the field early, so what.
Take a look at the team song, they're both involved, particularly TDS who looks like he's having a great time.
Stop searching for doom and gloom and enjoy winning.
I'm torn on this.

I agree that many are over analysing the body language and interactions.

So after some of the comments on here, I went back and watched the footage from the post game in the sheds on kayo... And I can see why people are forming these opinions.

At the same time it was shit weather so maybe some players just wanted to get back in the sheds..

Who knows.

I think if we keep our core (Luai, API, turuva, may, fainu, pole, douhei, bird, Bula etc) that we can build around this.

TDS is still a kid. I want him to stay. He is a tiger at heart. But if he leaves like Galvin I don't think it's going to break us.

Just reading Danny Weasels column in the SMH and he goes to lengths to bag Steve Stratton ( WT podcast presenter and a forum contributor). He is upset that he has been linked to Moses and is anti Tigers. He is a total stain on the game and a waste of space, but what upsets me the most is I actually read the garbage he wrote!
It also seems Moses’ latest strategy via Weidler is to suggest a mole in the ranks of the WT & Benji knows who it is. To say Benji is seeking his own counsel to me is trying to suggest it is someone high up.

I think the difference with the Galvin/TDS situation compared to the big 4 one is that back then they had so much more power. In our current team that’s much more creativity and influence in our senior players. They are driving the culture. The club still goes on without 2 young players. Back then the big 4 had much more influence.

The media can do their best to draw comparisons but it’s not the same situation.

Funny no mention of going on the podcast and defending his position. The bloke is a spineless grub. I would have loved for Steve and the boys to take him to task.

It’s been interesting to watch the last two weeks post Galvingate. He is more subdued and Luai has definitely stepped up his influence and involvement.

A key for me is that Galvin’s two highlights from the past two weeks (Fainu try against Cronulla and flick on to Staines) has been when he has been wide of the ruck. Like standing at centre or back-rower and not 5/8. Others have said that he will end up a 13 but I think he doesn’t want to direct attack he wants to create the attack. I could see him as a Wade Graham type player who was skilful and had a creative license.

It’s probably because Steve and Garry took the petition story to Brent Reed . He comes across as pretty malicious the old Weesler .

Club should have sent both Galvin and TDS straight back out in a jacket if poor boys cold and wet , and sign some autographs for the people who paid money and watched them play , I don’t care what anyone says but that footage of them was poor for from both
Yep , it doesn’t look good , when Luai and others stayed out there for ages afterwards .
I don’t want to buy into the body language stuff , but at the least it shows a lack of ability to read the room , or care too ! Because the fans might not seem important , but if they turn on you as a player , coach , even administrator, there is no coming back from that .
But I’m not that fussed with TDS . He’s a good footy player , but we have always had a conveyor belt of great dummy halves coming through . And present day is not excluded to that . Bailey Hayward has HUGE raps on him .
And there’s others in Matt’s and so on . I eventually think if TDS left with Galvin to the eels , we could get by with Hope off the bench until Hayward was ready .
But I’m hoping TDS love for the club and the tigers will out shine any bad mouthing from the Galvin camp .
I mean at the end of the day it could have been Galvin bitching about something so he went with Galvin to the back room for a private conversation . Just being an ear for his mate , who’s going through it.

The Galvin tag line strikes again. It's said every week. So he is either tanking or just not as good now that every coach knows his game.
Apart from his superb energy he currently has 2 plays.
Atrocious short kicking game
Short ball at the line to backrower.

Lachie Galvin
2005-20**
Not his best game, probably one of his worst
Galvin lacks the kicking game, defence and pace to be a half. [Thanks Paws]
I think the Knights 5/8, Fletcher Sharpe, is a much better player.
He would be more outstanding alongside Luai. Has pace in spades and scores tries, something Galvin lacks.
Glad Richco drew the line in the sand. We will not regress. There are other players out there that can do what Galvin does on much less money? [expected future money].

What bothers me most is Luai is not getting any younger and his talents wasted for 18 months nurturing a player who is going elsewhere.
Fingers crossed Latu can stay on the paddock longterm.
