Lame Membership Numbers - Whats the fix?

Its frustrating Mayer big time..

I know some say success brings bums on seats, but how does that explain Parramatta's numbers??

I was thinking today about why our numbers are so low, and thought that the uncertainty around the club may have a lot to do with it - the unknown halves, no real big name signings, poorly under-performed for the last two years, Potter close to being axed at the end of last season - will he survive this year … But then I looked at Parra's tally and how much of a basket case they are, and they're TRIPLE what we are. I don't get it.

Agreeing with a lot of the above but I also think the continued division of the supporter base by the club playing at 3 grounds ..Balmain supporters at Leichardt , Wests supporters at Campbelltown and Weststigers supporters to the Stadium.Parramatta have the one supporter base and one home ground ,hopefully the new independent board will rectify this sooner rather than later ,my view is one home ground if you don't like tough!

Even that's not that case as Parra are also using ANZ this year along with the Bunnies, Dragons, Bulldogs and us. They are also taking a game interstate. So the grounds are not an excuse.

How will they (nrl appointed board men) rectify it? Simply insist WT stop playing at LO and CSS and disenfranchise the fan base even more?

It appears the club is holding a forum tomorrow for lapsed members, is anyone from here attending?

Might be at one of the fan days. From an email that I deleted, I think the squad is split between two fan days at Concord and Campbelltown tomorrow.

Thanks….

Do you mean the junior rego sign up days?
Thats all Ive seen recently.

Maybe he's doing this via twitter

A few weeks ago the club sent out emails to lapsed members inviting them to a forum at Concord Oval tomorrow, where you can talk to Mayer and Potter and a few members of the leadership group. It's on at 10:30 tomorrow from memory.

Thanks Kiwitiger

Good to see theyre trying to find out why things have happened as they have

Credit where its due

I imagine Benji going has something to do with it for many of the fans….he always got the most cheers when teams were read out no matter how bad he was playing

Yeah Ink, kiwi would be correct. I only renewed last week, so that is probably why I also received an email. As tomorrow's fan days are open affairs, I can't see why any existing member that wanted to have a listen in on the forum couldn't.

Previously I was non ticketed as my toddler has grown, but he is nearing four now, so it is time to take him along. Even though I dislike the ground, I also got a mate to join up for the first time, with another gold ANZ family pack. At only $250 with central seating for a family it is a great deal. Prefer to sit on the hill on a Sunday arvo at Leichhardt, so will just get GA tickets to those. Campbelltown?

As we have not got our tickets yet, can someone with the ANZ gold package let me know where the reciprocal seating for away games is? Thanks in advance.

Gate C level 4 is where my away game section is

Ta Furious. Thought that level 4 was corporate area, and that they would have a certain section number such as 405 or105 if on the lower level.

We are also Gate C level 4 for away games which I thought was odd ,we signed up immediately after the renewing period of last years members were up.Maybe they were given a section to fill before going to ground level and those of us that got in quick got these seats ? .

I think thats the section where they crammed in too many seats for the size of the area, been there before (Dragons semi) and it is very very tight….I'm over 6' and found it very cramped

It's my hope one of the independant appointees specialises, or has a background in, sports marketing. It's clear the current management team are deficient in this area. That's if they really want to target more members. Apart from the ANZ ticketing offer, which I concede is a good one, I haven't seen any other initiatives to inspire anyone to sign up. As Mayer has conceded there will be no new marquee signings for next season, which I see as a backflip, I can't see member numbers improving much without new ideas, new promotions, new offers …. Something to inspire one to join up.

I can report there has been an improvement in the bandwagoner percentage. The following data shows an improvement in 2014….
Total Type %
183,216 Facebookers 100.00%
5,596 Members 3.05%
5,000 Out of towners 2.73%
7,000 Cant afforders 3.82%
**165,620 Bandwagoners 90.40%**
Data Sources: Facebook, WT website, data.com.cy

I'm predicting the bandwagoner percentage to improve to 90.39% by kickoff round 1.
