:nerd: you said it happy tiger Steve Folks! You could see the difference when he was here before physically and mentally. if we do have a new coach signed him up now!

When Steve Folkes was at Wests Tigers many of the players complained he was too hard on them. Ironically I hear that he has been currently coaching girls. Seriously he would be a great bonus as a coach at this club. Sign him early well before the pre-season training and give the players an ultimatum - if you don't like the coaching set-up ship out of Wests Tigers NOW. WE don't want any more of that disgraceful funny business we had about coaching in 2014.

Steve Folkes would be perfect for us, if the players don't like him well tough, because something is terribly wrong with the culture at this club, especially if the players are calling the shots :bash
Would Steve Folkes come back though that is the question

:sign: right on Newtown! you don't here any wingin if they think coach is soft. I think Folks'y would do wonders for this club a good tough disaplined coach. Just what we need.

Uh oh too late Steve Folkes has been appointed coach of Aussie Jilleroos Rugby League side, back to the drawing board :bulb:

I dare say if the opportunity to coach an NRL side came up he'd take it over the Jillaroos

What is the Wests Tigers "culture"? Consistent mediocrity?

Yes ….. but with the occasional good year. Thats the reality !

So Knuckles you want us to stay in that mediocrity forever? Why not look for someone who can realistically change the team from being mediocre, with an occasional good year, to being a consistently successful club, a la Manly? That's what I want, I'm sick of following mediocrity and a losing team most of the time!

To be fair, I feel there is more to Manly's consistency than the coaching aspect, because they changed coaches and didn't seem to lose much momentum.

Whoever coaches us has to have fair dinkum support of the board and CEO. If that means some unhappy players leaving, rep players or not, then so be it.

We must change our culture.

It saddened me to see the effort and pride that Cronulla displayed against the Cowboys compared to our pitiful efforts of late. They are even coached by their 3rd best coach.

By putting a new coach in the club may have some short term benefits but with out a major clean out we would soon slip back to where we are today.

We need strong leaders on and off the field that have the same common goals for the club. We are getting a new board, we need a new CEO and probably a new coach and club captain. Desperate times require very hard decisions. You just can not sugar coat our season, it has been appalling

Omg how did this rumour get the slightest mention ,let alone 4 pages .chris smith is one of those average shock jocks who thinks souths are going to win the premiership every year .id say somebody is geeing him up and sitting back and having a laugh .tim sheens as the next head coach of wests tigers is not going to happen .

Not 'girls' Newtown, women - the Australian Women's Rugby League team and current World Champions. Doubt he'd come back to the NRL now he has this gig - they probably take heed and show him more respect than any of the big heads in the NRL - plus I imagine there would be a whole lot less politics and crap to contend with.

Hey Flippeddy, spot on ,West Tigers win a premiership every year based politics, backstabbing, whiteanting, destabilising top squad and media leaking,no other club comes near us in that department.Heaven help the new board they have some s,,t to sort out. :deadhorse:  😛ray:

I agree Flippedy. I am sure that the Australian Women's Rugby League team play rugby league because of the love of the sport and not just for money. I am also sure that they have great pride in playing the game and representing Australia.

I reckon the Aussie girls side would do over our mob !

Parish was tossed up before we signed Mick Potter. I still don't understand why Potter would be sacked, he hasn't done anything wrong IMO.

One of the criticisms I hear of Potter is that he cannot get this team to a grand final in the next three years whilst we have our talented juniors…........I fail to see how Mat parish would be a better option!
