In that I just don't understand why some fans constantly tell other fans to have confidence in our management and faith in our coach. Why should we? Phrases keep coming like "in Madge we trust". Why?

Ok. let me explain it for you.

For all the good things that have happened and the exciting potential, we still have had disappointment after disappointment on-field for 15 years with no sign of let up.

The current management has zero connection to 15 years of disappointment. The current Chairman is about a week old and has a stack of business and legal clout behind him. Everything he has done to date has been professional and only worthy of optimism. The current coach is a premiership winning coach. In his first year with us he took probably the weakest roster we have had for 15 years to within a missed conversion of the top 8. He hasnt put a foot wrong since with the recent signings (more to come I hope). The CEO has been here for 4 years.

We have had multiple coaches who left in ignominy and left us worse off;

Good news, none of them are here any more and we now have the best credentialled coach ever at the Tigers.

>We have hope for better training facilities but our identity crisis still continues to ensure what >can only be called a home ground disadvantage.

We have more than hope, we have government approval, funding and designs completed, construction starts soon.

We are the team with the longest finals drought and most of us are sick to death of it.
We don't need fans to settle down.
Quite the opposite.

you can do what you like, but the facts are clearly that the Tigers are on the up and improving in the most important areas.

@Elderslie_Tiger a winger is not going to do jack for our team right now.

Your right but he's not just a winger he's a wrecking machine.

@swag_tiger Maybe souths are thinking of off loading Johnson and Gagai to Wests Tigers. You know, just to help WT out.

You wouldn't take those guys for a bet.

Been travelling all day today.

Just sat down in a pub and read through today’s offerings on this thread.

Thanks...

I hope you’ve got a stiff drink

5 beers and a lamb cutlets dinner and I still know SFA!!

It will all make sense after your 9th beer. If it doesn’t then keep drinking until it does.

Still a winger though that will rely on others to get him good ball. Won’t happen. Waste of money with what we currently have.

Innings and 65 run defeat. How good ?

Weirdest football score I have ever seen - there is a cricket thread I believe.

If I was Mitchell and was mulling over where to play to be in a consistent top 4 side over the next 4 years, I would choose Souths without out a doubt. I also think from a cultural and heritage perspective Souths would be better.

If Mitchell is being driven by wanting to be a side which is very inconsistent but having the opportunity to help build something special then the Tigers would be a good fit.

If it is money then it really is a toss of the coin as he will get good dollars where ever he goes.

Frankly, if he comes to the Tigers great, fantastic to get bums on seats, memberships etc, great for sponsors but if he doesn't so be it.

It's funny, I think if we miss out on him it will be a complete and utter disaster.

A complete and utter disaster? Did you think that 6 weeks ago?

Its been very quite today from the posters that said he was locked in and just planning the media announcement ???? Makes me think he is not coming so time to move our attention to the next players... I say give Sami R a call and offer him more than souths just to make them pay more..

No I didn’t. But whilst we’ve been focusing on Mitchell other players are no longer on the market. And it’s bad from a PR perspective. We’ve potentially released Matterson and Marsters to free up salary cap and now there’s no one of quality left to buy. I am surprised we let them both go without having anything concrete in place.

Fair call, Sheens had won more Premierships, but Sheens had had many years of mediocrity prior to coming to the Tigers, wasnt exactly a coach under high demand. Wasnt after he left the Tigers either coincidently.

Ill always be grateful for 2005, but the decline afterwards was diabolical.

I still say maguire is the ***best*** coach we have had.

Sheens has won more premierships, he also won a premiership with us! All 3 of our finals appearances were with Sheens as coach.

It is a little disrespectful to call someone who has won 1 premiership with another club and has not even made the finals with us as the best coach we have had over Sheens!

Haven’t said it for about a week, so I’m due.

Even if we miss out on LM, we’ll still be plucking players from somewhere to complete our squad. Will they be of any value? Who knows. But we have the cash to make a good fist of it.

Are you still confident Willow?

No reason not to be. People are making judgements based on speculation and assumption. That's the worst thing you can do. I like to make mine based on facts and the facts are Latrell has met with us and the Cowboys. Now they've signed Val and do you think they're going to shell out that sort of coin for him to play on the wing?

If Latrell's management had met with Souths we would know about it by now - most of these journos are rubbish but they're close enough to the action to know which clubs are talking with him. That's not going to stop most on here procrastinating and speculating but that seems to be the go on here these days.

Like who? The only decent player that has been snapped up has been Capewell and Im glad we didnt get him.

For mine this whole thing has been a PR win. Tigers have shown they are serious about competing for a good player and serious about doing what is necessary to be successful. It sends a signal to other players that we are fair dinkum.
