@TigerWest
Mate, they win the first game and my guard is dropped all over again.

Oh.....***that ***kind of supporter.

Something wrong Glenn? Seem to be having a go for some reason.
?

Nothing wrong at all. You have made it clear what kind of supporter you are, [This word has been automatically removed] and moan but when they start winning, back on the wagon.

Posted on here a couple weeks ago Latrell was off to Souths and to take it to the bank.

Ridiculous that this is still on going when it was verbally agreed weeks ago. Roosters immediately pulled their offer once they were informed he had verbally agreed with Souths, and released that rather passive aggressive statement. Will be made official once Burgess retirement is cleared and Gagai is released to join his new club.

Tigers and Cowboys all a media beat up to drive the price up as high as possible and push Souths to resolve the other two issues as quick as possible.

Unfortunately for the Tigers time wasted on Latrell could have been better spent on Brimson and Arrow who have both re-signed with GC.

Disguised swearing or otherwise is not on guys. Cut it out thanks.

Are you still confident Willow?

No reason not to be. People are making judgements based on speculation and assumption. That's the worst thing you can do. I like to make mine based on facts and the facts are Latrell has met with us and the Cowboys. Now they've signed Val and do you think they're going to shell out that sort of coin for him to play on the wing?

If Latrell's management had met with Souths we would know about it by now - most of these journos are rubbish but they're close enough to the action to know which clubs are talking with him. That's not going to stop most on here procrastinating and speculating but that seems to be the go on here these days.

Correct...not sure where this Souths rumour came from, but they don't have the cash...yet.

Bennett has stated that he needs to replace Burgess anyway...potentially, they could free up space with Gagai and AJ, but there have been ZERO reports linking those 2 with other clubs.

A lot needs to happen at Souths for them to have the cash to sign LM on the money he wants.

Secondly, if LM was going to knock us back, he would have done so by now. We are meeting this week for the second time...he's interested and so are we...

I read something about the Titans being interested, but that's not likely after re-signing Brimson.

Forgetting Mitchell for a second...Leilua also hasn't been announced...I don't see the uproar there? These things take time.

Yes, all valid points.

FWIW The same souths 'insider' posting the LM stuff has Dane Gagai joining US.

I just refuse to believe this stuff. There is no way in hell we are dumb enough to take Gagai and his three decent games / 20 poor ones a season...and clear up money for them to sign a marquee player at the same time. It is ludicrous.

Oh well, if we miss out on signing Mitchell I guess we will go back to looking at either Moylan or Milford as possibles for the fullback role next season? The club has made it pretty clear that signing a fullback is a priority, so I can’t see them stopping the pursuit of one if Mitchell turns us down.

I can’t think of any other fullback options are available out there, and I know Moylan & Milford are a come down on Mitchell, but at least they are actual fullbacks that have some talent and can produce the xfactor on occasion. It’s just a matter of getting them invested in the game and consistent in their performances. Maybe a change of scenery will do them good.

I do hope we are still pursuing Lomax also, he would be a good acquisition. Reports are that the Dragons said they wouldn’t release him - maybe they will change their minds 🙏🏼 Seems like the Luciano signing is a given, which is great, one more experienced prop would be a bonus also.

The only thing I hope doesn’t happen is that we end up with Alex Johnson as fullback! After doing everything in our power to lure Latrell, ending up with Johnson instead would be the ultimate booby prize! 😂

@CCTW

I’m sorry, but your 4 only posts on this forum have all been that Latrell is going to the souths....

Don’t know what to make of your credibility no offence

Gagai won’t be at the Tigers. In discussions with GC and Melbourne (Curtis Scott replacement)

Gagai is on 700, almost double Scott.

They are releasing Scott to ease cap pressure, so taking back a bloke on double would make no sense.

The Gold Coast, on the other hand, are dumb enough to do that…

So, do you know who we are chasing?

@teddy23 Make whatever you want of it, it’s entirely up to you!

I posted on here knowing full well that most people probably will take it with a grain of salt, and that’s fine. However, the saga will come to an end one way or another and you will have your answer.

Find it hard to believe if that was known by you as a done deal , and clearly you wouldn't be the only one, how on earth did no one know at Wests Tigers know- and why has the media not got hold of it? Surely some one from the Roosters would have let Hartigan know. They all talk.
The media are still saying the Titans are in the mix and nothing about South's.
It all sounds plausible- but can't believe if it was done weeks ago that it hasn't got out.

No I didn’t. But whilst we’ve been focusing on Mitchell other players are no longer on the market.

Like who? The only decent player that has been snapped up has been Capewell and Im glad we didnt get him.

>And it’s bad from a PR perspective. We’ve potentially released Matterson and Marsters to free up salary cap and now there’s no one of quality left to buy. I am surprised we let them both go without having anything concrete in place.

For mine this whole thing has been a PR win. Tigers have shown they are serious about competing for a good player and serious about doing what is necessary to be successful. It sends a signal to other players that we are fair dinkum.

The only signal I’ve got so far is we’ve lost a prop, great second rower, a centre and a hooker and as of this moment have nothing in the bank. Now if we land Mitchell and Leilua then yes - we have sent a signal. But if we don’t it’s just more of the same imo. I’m less hopeful than I was last week but not without hope.

@ElleryHanley

Unless JAC leaves

I just find it hard to believe that if the roosters knew that he agreed terms with Souths 3 weeks ago

How haven’t the us, the cowboys and media got onto it yet

The rugby league community talks.....

@Telltails It was definitely know by a few. The Roosters definitely knew, which is why they made it quite publicly known THEY withdrew the offer, when in reality Souths got one on them. Not a tactic often used by the Roosters, if ever.

For a multitude of reasons clubs and officials still go through the process. Remembering that it was verbal agreement so there was no actual signatures, sometimes clubs feel they can persuade with bigger last minute offer. On top of that, you have an agent sounding out the clubs promising them that he hasn’t signed and is still looking.

So, our recruitment group have been played for absolute fools.

Nothing is surprising anymore when it comes to managers. Just odd that it's all over two forums and not in the media yet.
