Why do we need to issue a deadline? Who else are we going to miss out on If this carries on? Arrow? We can afford as well as latrell. Lomax? Isn't he a centre? It's not as if we have 2 superstars vying fo the same position. We have enough in the cap in the next 2 years to sign a couple of big names.
These things take time. As long as Madge is happy with the negotiations, then that's all that matters.

The longer this drags out the players you have spoken about want some security for 2020

And when you have a club saying "hang on for a sec .....Latrell's on the phone ..we might be wasting our and your time .....no no its might be on still Latrell's going to chat to Peter Parr , Mal Meninga , Gladiator and get back to us ...can you please just wait "

@Geo How do you think this will play out mate?

A good chance Latrell Mitchell will be a Wests Tiger..

If not we will have a good amount of money to sign someone else...

Lomax is has become a buzzword that everyone has latched onto. I’d bet half the people campaging we sign him haven’t even seen him play. It’s become even more annoying than Curtis Rona which is saying a lot.

Lomax is an excellent talent and will play rep football imho. There are people at the dragons(officials and supporters) who rate him better than Mark Gasnier.
He would be an ideal player for us

And he’s not a bad goal kicker either! People seem to be forgetting that we have now also lost our goal kicker from last season. Latrell can kick, so hope he signs up, but if not we need to find another good kicker, who is s fairly good player as well. I think Lomax fits the bill.

The major concern for me is the alleged lack of communication from his manager with our club ( this week) I think it's extremely unprofessional and as much as i want Mitchell to sign with us, makes me very, very wary about what this manager may be like through the contract period. I realise and would expect his manager to get the best deal possible for his client, but the alleged ducking and weaving avoiding communication with us is a red flag.

Yeah I really dislike most player managers, some are just plain parasites! The last thing we need is another Isaac Moses or Gavin Orr connected to the players in our team.

We haven't lost our goal kicker from this season at all, Momo is our goal kicker and as far as I know he hasn't left our club yet

Who else is available if not Mitchell is the big question on people's lips now, i think we are backed into a corner in some respects. Thanks for the info btw.

@4jtigers Latrell in a Zimmer Frame would still be quicker than our current stock.

now now that's pushing it to the extreme lol - I just want it over and done with so we could all move on - either way I couldn't care less anymore... life goes on

I love reading everyone's posts on the subject - some funny ones and some not so funny but hey we are all entitled to voice our opinions :sunglasses:

Think we still have the goal kicker from last year mate.

If you are talking about Masters - he couldn't kick a hole in a wet paper bag if you remember.

Still hopeful of Latrell, but even without Latrell, I think next season we have enough talent and depth to make the semis.
Especially if Momo can keep kicking well, he really found his form in the backend of this season.
Just need all our high end talent players to somewhat play at their potential.
2020 is going to be a MADGIC year, regardless if Latrell signs or not.

We came 9th last year. We lost our best forward, our hooker and a representative centre. We have signed Billy Walters who has played 1 NRL game. We are a worse squad than last year, no doubt about it.

We still have a lot of talent, plus another full off season where Madge can work some MADGIC.
We came close this year to semis, next year we will make the semis.

@Chaos so you're saying even though we have lost 3 key players and recruited nothing, Madge will make all the other players better over the offseason? Sorry, but that's just fantasy.

Then we just need to convince him that the WT's are a better option than the other 14 clubs .....see the issue ...maybe that is the method behind the Roosters madness .....

It’s called good coaching, it’s a matter of seeing what can be done within certain situations.
Farah And matterson are a significant loss, marsters not so much, he went a bit stale imo.
We have players that can come out next season and showcase a lot of improvement.
Basically what your saying is, our players are incapable of improvement, therefore we won’t be any better.
That’s just looking at the cup half empty.
We have a lot of players who are yet to show there worth, I expect them to step up, I expect Madge to use this offseason to focus on players strengths and weaknesses and assign player roles accordingly.

Immaterial of Mitchell at fullback or in another team, WT remain very doubtful as to hooker. I hope we do get Mitchell, he will at some spark to our lack lustre attack.

Liddle is out for possibly most if not all of season, and he will probably hurt something tripping over a blade of grass the poor bugger,.

* Walters has been signed and Maguire has said possible to cover hooker,
* talk is we have also signed Brittain but there is no WT confirmation that I know of,
* the make do Reynolds / Marshall coverage end of last season will not fly for a whole season- opposition teams will have worked them out by season start,
* Taylor was not good at hooker, and
* that leaves possibly Mbye as hooker but I think he best serves team as centre pairing with Momirovski.

Of the above options I hope we have signed Brittain and can promote from reserves. Pre-season training will start to show things but to go into a season with such doubts over a key role is not good.

I still hope that even with the outlay for Mitchell. we are also talking to another prop- I continue to raise the name of Musgrave. Others have talked of a pack leader- we supposedly have that in Packer- he just has to pull his finger our and want it. Dont know if the injuries / sulking stories are true but we shouldnt have to buy anther leader unless we get rid of him for non-performance.
