If the reports that he didn’t want to do extra training and also wanted to go back to Taree when it suited him are true then giving in to those demands would have been the start of a new Boys Club

Well, The Pom has said LM himself was keen.

So it is not an attitude thing.

Sounds purely like a horrendous agent.

Latrell’s management is apparently not happy with the conditions.
Reading between the lines , I think the Tigers are just making it very clear that Latrell should not expect any special favours

:+1: :+1:

so technically we still could get Latrell, as long as we show his managment the sewers

tbh, great move by the club, we will not be held to ransom anymore.

Mitchell clearly needs to dump his management as well.

God I hate player managers! Thanks a lot you greedy, pretentious twat! Are there any good ones out there? Honestly, players would be better off doing their own negotiations, it’s their life and career after all, not the parasites who ‘manage’ them.

Today's announcement from Pascoe was a shot across the bow at Mitchell's management. Discussions directly involving Latrell himself has been positive & every indication was given he would be joining but since dealing directly with his management that's when the games have started, many at the club believe he's not getting the full story from his management & hence the very public withdrawal today. There's still every chance he could join but the handling of this from his management team has been nothing short of disgusting !

"Since dealing with his management, that's when the games have started"
Who were they dealing with before?

We reached out to his management to arrange a meeting with Latrell which happened discussions where had via phone after between him prior to going on holidays, since we've now only been going through his manager that's when things started going sideways. An agreement was reached last week but since that "verbal" everything has been silent & his manager has in a way blocked any chance of moving forward. A meeting was arranged this week face to face but then got pushed back & then cancelled leading to todays annoucment

I hate to be that guy... But, whilst you're here... Any hints as to what our plan B is for 2020

in your opinion do you think we'll still sign him, if he gets his managers in line? also any truth to the fox rumor?🙂

No I don't, it's not completely dead in the water but I think that door is closed. Yes JAC is 100% a target but it's a case of what the Storm think. 2 years to go on his contract, find it hard they would let him go easily. Bellamy is a man manager & it's family/personnel reasons he wants to leave Bellamy is the type to find a way to make it work.
Advantage we have is that Addo-Carr loves this club since he was a kid & dreamed of playing alongside Benji

No names requested POM but is there a figure you can give us on how many (What you would classify high quality players) we are talking to with serious offers or chances of signing

Thanks POM as usual very enlightening, I agree with Pascoe pulling the contract, we were looking like the outsider at a school dance, just hoping the cheerleader will dance with us, plan B, C or whatever, sign JAC, Lomax and a forward, happy days.

So, in summation LM deal is dead and JAC highly unlikely.

In that case, I hope we just use the money to pay off Josh and Packer in 2020 and focus on 2021 with a ton of room. I can't see anyone left for 2020 now who would make much difference.

The new Chair seems a great guy, but the 'finals or failure' rhetoric is hopefully ignored and we build for 2021 onwards now Pom.

We have lost our best player by a mile and two hookers and have basically the worst 1-5 in the comp plus the worst front row. Adding a Moylan or Milford won't change things much. Hopefully the club plans for 2021 and does not panic but (like Cleary did) to try and salvage something for 2020.

Now lets , in a nice, orderly fashion make our way across to the JAC thread and begin another 200 pages that will end in tears.

Thanks @THE_POM. Sounds like a frustrating series of events for us. Any idea what our ‘Plan B’ is and who we may turn this bulk of money towards outside of Addo-Carr?

Brimson off the table now, Leilua the only other name that’s sounded fairly solid. Arrow? Frizell? Lomax?
Munster (rumours he’s unhappy at Storm)?

I think a few people in the know had said after the Matto release that the Tigers would come out of this far better off, but I’m yet to see anything to indicate we are and I hope we didn’t pull all our eggs in the LM basket?

Its being reported everywhere that we've pulled our offer. If we were to sign him now we'd look pretty indecisive. Even though behind the scenes our stance might be justified, it probably wouldn't be good PR to reverse course from here. The more I think about it, the club probably believes he's a 90-95% chance of not coming here, so think that's enough to take this stance.

what pisses me off must is the time we wasted chasing a player who really didn't want to come. we have missed out on a few players that could define our season ahead. we could have signed tetavano and or capewell that would have made are pack so much stronger. we could have signed lomax as fullback and as a 1st choice kicker, all 3 off them would have made the tigers a much stronger club. but that's just my take. just another point to all those on here who say hold the money for 2021, DO WE PURE DEPRAVE SUPPORTERS REALLY WANT TO WAIT ANOTHER YEAR, I don't, we have the cap now sign what we need and we will have cap space next year to add others players , sick of waiting get it done.

Madge has a plan more than a Plan B, Pascoe's efforts to clear salary cap space has been massive & putting us in a really strong position. Leilua is 100% done for 2020 also trying are best to get Musgrove approved & registered for 2020. He's kept himself really fit & would be great to have onboard. Speaking in relation to the bulk amount of $$ for 2020 it's all a massive chess game waiting for the 1st piece to move. Latrell could be that piece just depending on where he goes.
