I have no links to either the Roosters or Tigers so take the above with a grain of salt.

I don’t think he’s a certainty to come here but I’d be extremely surprised if he stayed at the roosters. I think that ship has sailed.

How so, wouldn't surprise me one bit if the roosters orchestrated the whole show, just to get Mitchell on the books for way unders, hope you are right though.

So here it is the beginning of another week and still no real news on this. The longer it goes on the less likely he will sign with us. Knowing our luck, some other club will snap him up while our board is still deliberating on whether it would be prudent for WT to sign him! 😂

@851 Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. The PR spin has been relentless. In the last week you've had about 26 published articles on the matter, and former players like Cronk, Gal, JT, Geyer, Brandy all saying he should stay @ roosters for less. Matto breaking his contract with 2 years to go didn't bring this much fanfare & outrage as LM testing his market worth as free agent

Wednesday is the earliest possible time we could sign him. How could any rational person think otherwise?
Madge only just got back in the country. Mitchell may not even be back in sydney yet either. They've got to meet at least once, management will need to approve a big money offer. Mitchell would need time to consider his options, speak to family and friends before even possibly signing.

These things don't just happen over a cup of of coffee...

And of course there's other clubs or offers which may come in the coming weeks which Jo's agent may want him to wait for. He has a contract and is in no need to rush

Roosters would show on the cap he was getting less but i would wager his golf game would be improved

You can say it till you are blue in the face, it won't be good enough for some. The club can't win no matter what they do. They cop it for signing nuffies, then cop it for opening their wallet to pay a superstar. They get heat for signing lemons like McQueen and a guy like Reynolds who can't stay fit, then when they take a different approach and do some due diligence, they're incompetent because they can't seal the deal. You can always find a negative angle if you are looking for one.

The Roosters still in the box seat with Latrell especially now there appears to be few takers.
At only 22 he has plenty of time for the big money deal, and 800k for the next couple of years is huge money provided the relationship between player and the coach is still salvagable.

Are the Cowboys playing games with Latrell Mitchell in a bid to put the pressure on Valentine Holmes to return from the USA to Townsville?

My spies up north tell me that the Cowboys are somewhat interested in Mitchell following his bust-up with the Roosters - but wannabe New York Jet Holmes is their real target.

Holmes is currently weighing up whether to return to the NRL after missing out on a spot on the Jets' roster, landing a contract on their training squad.

Holmes' management knows the Cowboys cannot afford both their man and Mitchell on big dollars.

The Cowboys went out of their way last week to declare their interest in Mitchell - but I am hearing Holmes, who hails from North Queensland, is the man they prefer to sign.
