What are you hearing?
Do you know what I know?
Are you as important as me?
Stop the pretentious garbage!!
If you know and can tell - do it!
If not - don’t post!
Always agree with you, but no way... if you know you know, if you don’t suck it up. It’s in bad taste to shoot anybody down on the suspicion that you don’t ‘really’ think they know as much as they’ve claimed or to assume they shouldn’t be posting anything at all other than a confirmed signing...
This thread is for rumours and the word I’ve heard on the street wouldn’t be making any of us happy here on the forum. It’s also barely passed Morning on Monday right now, relax!
Hence, a subtle cross check with POM?
He is usually the last man to be told when it’s common knowledge and thus by that point it’s usually being printed off in the press.
I’m not trying to give Pooper his next scoop
I've been given 2 sets of mail...one of them said he was staying at the Roosters...the other one said it's a done deal. Papers are reporting a meeting with the Cowboys.
These are people who are closer to the situation, but in saying that, they aren't as close as what Madge, Pascoe or Hartigan would be.
Reports are conflicting right now and I'm guessing the truth is that no one really knows what's going on except Mitchell himself.
What we do know is that there are 3 teams he could play for in 2020 - Roosters, Tigers or Cowboys.
We have a rails run, but it will depend on the Roosters releasing him and what the Cowboys do with Holmes...Cowboys have stayed solid on Holmes and my understanding is he signed an agreement pending his endeavors in the NFL.
If you think about it logically, the Cowboys and the Tigers would be offering similar money. I don't think it's got anything to do with the cash on offer - that's just my opinion.
As someone has mentioned, there has only been one confirmed signing in the NRL, so it's not unusual that there is no news...this is a big deal that is a bit last minute, so there are probably little things that need working through.
And that is simply all I’d said, totally in sync with what you’re hearing except that he will not be a cock in 2020. Possibly even harder for us to be patient at times like this with so much totally irrelevant info flying over each other’s heads. It is the fine print that’s proving an issue
Yeah I hadn't heard about the fine print issues, but had heard it was done.
Even that is conflicting because if it was done, the fine print would have been taken care of hahaha...perhaps I have a different definition of "done".
Although it's painful having to ride this out, it's awesome to see the leaks in the club seem to have been plugged.
On a side note, and maybe I'm reading too much into this, but if you compare the way Lee Hadgipantelis is talking about Mitchell to the way the Cowboys are talking about the potential signing, it's chalk and cheese.
Normally, you wouldn't open yourself to having egg on your face by gushing about a player unless you knew something was going in your favour...just a hunch
It’s a combination of fine-print and second thoughts, nothing new to signing news. Definitely something that has had me worried but also heard it’s done - last week. Wondering what usually takes this long to get it over the line when there is no official release from roosters and the next financial year has started... the kind of info that people very high up at the club may have passed on. I literally do not have an answer to ***speculate on a young man’s personal problems***
