If you think about it logically, the Cowboys and the Tigers would be offering similar money. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with the cash on offer - that’s just my opinion.

In fairness, he was responding to my speculation when I wrote

I was quoting you but copy/pasted my quote...looks like it didn't work out well :white_frowning_face:

@Glenn5150 don't worry , hes not coming. so we can start looking to sign 4-5 players instead of 1 over rated player, so chill out and wait to see who else madge brings in.

Im chilled. Ill be patient and I have a lot of faith in Madge. I would love LM at the Tigers but what will be will be. I am happy and content that the Tigers seem to have the best people at the top that we have had in our bleak history.

On that note, a quick little anecdote:
I remember about 20 years ago I saw Craig Wing and Bryan Fletcher at the Bondi Hotel.
I went up them and told them it was time for a challenge and to come play for the Tigers.
They both immediately broke out in raucous laughter with Fletch saying: "Why would we go from the penthouse to the shithouse?" They were in hysterics!
Sure it was a bit embarrassing but it was hard to disagree with them.

Anyway, back to Monday!

Was that before or after Fletcher captained Souff's to the spoon...?

@Geo
It was most definitely before!

I happened to bump into Craig Wing a few years later again in Bondi and asked him if we was worried about playing the Tigers this week. He was flippant "nah not at all".
I said "well you better be, we are going to crush you".
And we did.

You're still peddling this tripe, even after being told the other day that 4-5 players would equate to players on 200-300k, that would do diddly squat to improving the club.

i can understand some people's reservations however Latrell is a different league to any 4-5 players we could sign on Lm's salary. He would change the culture and dynamics of this club 100% we've had a very very tough run with losing talent but this kid would improve our ball club exponentially. On top of that he would make the club an attractive destination for players to come play fir us (similar to 2006/2007 when we signed a plethora of players because of Benj). If we're honest the tigers isn't an attractive destination for players. less rep opportunities and virtually no chance of finals football.

We signed a lot of busted, older players Cleary era but Latrell is certainly not in that category. In my very limited time watching league in 2019 he is a game breaker. If we don't sign him i'd watch even less footy next year. Fingers crossed we get him.

What are you hearing?
Do you know what I know?
Are you as important as me?
Stop the pretentious garbage!!
If you know and can tell - do it!
If not - don’t post!

Always agree with you, but no way... if you know you know, if you don’t suck it up. It’s in bad taste to shoot anybody down on the suspicion that you don’t ‘really’ think they know as much as they’ve claimed or to assume they shouldn’t be posting anything at all other than a confirmed signing...

This thread is for rumours and the word I’ve heard on the street wouldn’t be making any of us happy here on the forum. It’s also barely passed Morning on Monday right now, relax!

Hence, a subtle cross check with POM?

He is usually the last man to be told when it’s common knowledge and thus by that point it’s usually being printed off in the press.

I’m not trying to give Pooper his next scoop

No worries @Tigerboy. I enjoy hearing people’s thoughts etc but I don’t like the comments where people are just building their egos. AND I will admit to being frustrated when reading it’s done, then reading it’s not done. But that’s my problem. Just want to see us actually land a big fish rather than finding out yet again that the big fish got away?
It’s the intention of the post that is frustrating actually. If the intent is to inform - that’s great. If the intent is to big note oneself- that’s frustrating

Has anyone told the new Chairman? He said he was after him this morning on radio and discussions were taking place. And he'd know far more than any players would. And btw the 4-5 players argument is total garbage, we'd have players even worse than we currently have if we did that.

Anasta reckons he has mail...

"I've got a little bit of inside mail, I think that's where he's going to end up," the 288-game NRL veteran claimed on Fox Sports News.

@Elderslie_Tiger surely someone at West’s knows someone who has a helicopter to take him home to Taree when he wants to, they could throw that in as a TPA lol

Strap him to a dozen drones, punch in the GPS coordinates and he's away.
Drop him back on the morning of the game kitted up

how reliable is the forgotten Man NRL Rumours?
As he says Latrell to Tigers is practically a done deal.

It doesn't get much more reliable than an anonyous facebook page called "Forgotten Man NRL Rumours"...
