So it doesn’t bother anyone else that we seem to be the very last resort for Mitchell to sign with? We’ve had to chase him around the country to present our very generous offer, yet he still won’t commit. Instead he took himself to North Qld to pursue his ‘dream’ of playing with the team that finished 14th last season. Now that dream has been squashed because of Holmes returning we’re the only option left for him unless he stays at the Roosters - though it seems that ship has sailed.

I’m sorry, but if media reports are to be believed this bloke doesn’t seem too excited about coming to play at the Tigers. It’s more like we’ve become the only option left for him if he wants to get out of where he is now. Sure the money is good and he’ll get a crack at playing fullback but if he ends up signing with us will he really be invested?

This whole scenario is starting to look a bit like the girl having to say yes to the guy she really isn’t that keen on to take her to the dance because everyone else is taken and nobody else is asking!

Is there a negative angle you won't come at this situation from? You've been saying for weeks that we'll look like suckers if we miss out on him, and now that its looking inevitable that we do sign him, we still look like suckers in your mind because apparently its us or nothing. Well, if he was that against playing for us, I'm sure he'd wait 12 months when his contract is up, then he could take his pick of where he wants to play. Its sad that at every turn you have to denigrate this club, and look at something that would be the greatest thing to happen to this club since 2005, and turn it into a burden. **And I know you're going to think im targeting you,** but I'm just being honest. I don't get why everything has to be drag.

Yeah you are, the fact you even wrote that means you know you are. Plenty of others on here have been saying way more negative things than me (check out some of Happy’s comments in this thread). Haven’t seen you respond once to any neg comment he’s made or many of the others for that matter. So please just get off my back and let me have an opinion for once in my life without having to suffer your constant criticism of my thoughts.

And It’s complete BS that I denigrate this club at every turn. I’ve always been a pretty moderate poster on most topics. If I see something I like I’ll say it, if I see something I don’t like I’ll say it also.

On Latrell, of course I would love to have him at the club, but I also hope that any player who signs with us would have their heart in it and would actually want to play with us. God forgive me for being a little skeptical after witnessing the club being burned by both Cleary and Matterson in consecutive years.

I’m sorry you took my post to heart, but I also call it as I see it. I understand you aren’t the only one, **but you are the most vocal.** You can’t seem to find anything positive about this which Is astounding me. You even went on about it being Latrell’s dream. He never said that. You’ve taken the journalistic licence of some telegraph hack, and tried to use it against us. You cite Matterson and Cleary, yet don’t mention how well we handled those situations. All I ask is you give the club a break once in a while. No point being here if you can’t get some joy.

Lol far from it. You see what you want to see.

If that’s all you took from that then ok.

Like everyone I’m trying to curb my enthusiasm. I’d love an early announcement either way but also realise that Mitchell is under no pressure to hurry.

One consideration though is the fact that since Nov 1 Roosters are paying him foR this year. So there is incentive for LM to drag it out and incentive for Roosters to hurry up.

If Tigers are promising $800k for 2020 and he is on $450k at roosters, every week he drags it out is $8600 in his pocket.

I can see Roosters trying to push it to a conclusion

Its the other way isn't it. Definitely roosters don't want to be paying him. But he is losing money by not coming to tigers immediately.

He is contracted to the Roosters, its after 01/11/19. He is getting paid by the Roosters and every week that goes on is another week on their payroll

@avocadoontoast Wow big change of tune from you, didn't you say with words to the effect of "he would never ever think about coming to the Tigers" hmmm Avo on toast, more like Humble Pie.

He hasnt come yet

Feel like everyone is hanging on us to make an announcement when we should really be hanging on to the Roosters announcing his release.

Really, read the post above yours. It’s not common knowledge for some.

@GNR4LIFE doubt they would announce that until he signs with another team (Tigers)

Um, no. The release is always announced before the new club announces the signature.

@GNR4LIFE the next part of this chapter, is that if LM signs, will he even be released?
I know roosters have said they are willing to release him as long as he don’t go to souths, but as this is all a big circus atm, don’t be surprised if you see some clowns.

Ok longer response.

You appear to have totally misunderstood what my original post was saying. I am not bagging the club at all, I am questioning Mitchell’s motives and apparent reluctance to sign with us, despite our generous offer. Same as with my reference to Cleary and Matterson, I’m talking about *them* as the kind of people who really weren't invested in being here and how these very recent happenings have tended to make me a little sceptical about Mitchell‘s motives as well, the longer this all goes on. Like I said, I want us to sign players and coaches who really *want* to be here, not just use us as a springboard for something else.

Not once did I bag the club out in that post, I am bagging the people who did our club a disservice and just walked out on us mid-contract to go and fulfil their selfish agenda. I would hate for something like that to happen to us again.

Well, he won’t sign if he doesn’t get the release. The release comes first.

@GNR4LIFE He could sign with tigers, and roosters get cold feet and don’t allow him to leave until after next season, slim chance of that happening but still a possibility yeh?
But I know what you mean, most likely the roosters will announce him leaving as soon as possible, likely before tigers announce his signing.

I think that’s zero chance personally. He will be released first.

Looks like Roosters want him off the books ASAP

@GNR4LIFE yep... your right, after reading the article regarding the roosters frustration with LM delaying things... as soon as Latrell signs, roosters will announce it immediately I think lol.
