If the clown doesn’t put pen to paper this week then lock the door, we are not the door mat we were when Ivan was splashing the cash on trash.
He would be a great signing for us but not at the expense of our integrity. The Cowboys used him as a pawn to get Holmes moving and Latrell has copped a sucker punch over his perceived popularity.
We made him a great offer, he’s on the nose at the Roosters so he value is diminishing by the minute yet he parades himself around ...ala Matterson style.
My thoughts are that he’s not keen on coming to the Tigers but he will sign with us as the money is overwhelming and we’ve publicly shown how desperate we are to roll out the red carpet for him.
No doubt the Bulldogs are trying to back door us again and their secret service agents have been dispatched into the field.
I can’t see Maguire putting up with the shenanigans much longer.
“I want to play fullback” ✔️
“I want $1m a season” ✔️

The guy has only been looking at what's available to him for a few weeks and told by the Roosters on 5th November their preference is that he moves on a year early. That's under 3 weeks to sort out a move 12 months early. Just finished footy for the year after playing for Aus and has spent time fighting bushfires before taking a week holiday with his family.

I'm not sure how taking a few weeks to sort out your future taking the above into account makes him a clown.

As mentioned by his manager, we've met with Latrell in Taree and they are both due to come in and meet at Concord sometime this week. I'm sure it will all be finalised then if he decides to go with us

The 'Clown' is on holidays.
The 'Clown's' manager has stated he will sit down with WT management to discuss their offer.
If the 'Clown' is copping a sucker punch, it is because of the NRL media circus that surrounds him.
If the 'Clown' has been parading himself, it has been with his family fighting fires.
Your comparison of that, to the behaviour of Matterson, tells me all I need to know about your judgement.
Thanks for your valued opinion.

There’s a few questions I have out of this post Tony:

Are we risking our integrity by going all out to finish above 9th? Surely we have to change our approach because what we’ve been doing ain’t working.
How is Latrell ‘parading himself about.’ He’s hardly said anything and has fought fires and travelled to meet cowboys - hardly parading?
How do you know Bulldogs are chasing him? I’ve heard nothing substantial in this regard.

Could be numerous explanations ...maybe the WT's have thought better of the deal and have pulled their heads in

Blaming Latrell like some are is ridiculous ..its a 2 way street

All these crazy posts about Latrell and others is really down to the earlier ‘in the know’ posters saying things like - Latrell signed 100% - a WTF signing next week (3 weeks ago)

They obviously know nothing at all.

All Chinese whispers.

I couldn’t care less really, so long as Madge doesn’t do an Ivan and waste our money for 4 years.

Exactly. I want Latrell to come here but it's a punt even if he does come here. I just don't want the really bad long term signings to happen again. Latrell is much more likely to be Hanley than he is to be Blair.

@NT_Tiger Hey mate, I’m sick of people making out he is a hero, in the video he posted , he was running a garden hose on smouldering grass, hardly fighting a bushfire, if he doesn’t sign when his manager meets the Tigers this week, withdraw the offer, we need him but not his impression of himself.

Dude

Just because he posted 1 video of himself "running a hose on burning grass" does not mean that was all he did there... for all we know he could of been right amongst the action where the inferno is..... patience is a virtue........

Exactly
Let this play out as there is nothing any of us can do
In saying that and the other hand
If I was offered $1,000,000? a season to sign for the tigers I would lick the soles of Maguires dirty boots after he walked on Bondi Bch if that formed part of the contract when I signed
But that's just me

I don't think anyone should criticize Latrell for signing with a particular club
It is his choice and he will have his reasons for doing so

But if Latrell wants to prove to everyone just how good he is then what better way then to come to the tigers and help us win a premiership beating the Roosters on the way
While playing Fullback for us and knocking Teddy off his mantle

You could call that sweet revenge if you wish and I think that would be something that could drive Latrell to Greatness in our game
It may not happen next year but with nearly $5,000,000 to spend in 2021 on further upgrades to our team Latrell and the Tigers could give it a real good shot at a premiership

Latrell
Follow in the footsteps of Arthur Beetson and become a legend of the game with the Tigers
We want you

@rex2ce
Yeah, I'm not sure who thinks he's a hero. But from what I've heard and read he's a pretty decent bloke off field.
I think he's a 22y/o footballer with several advisors of various qualities. He is negotiating potentially a very big employment contract and I imagine he wants to get it right.
I don't think it is fair or reasonable for anonymous forum members to disrespect him and call him a clown just because they are impatient with a process that they don't even understand.
I also don't think he needs to rush into signing with WT immediately after he meets with our management. I'd rather he, and Wests Tigers, consider their options carefully and come up with a mutually agreeable result.
When is the last time you negotiated a multimillion dollar employment contract for yourself?
The last time I did was never.

Is there a chance that Latrell is happy to let this continue for a while to keep getting his $14k a week from the Roosters as an "up yours" to them? And, does that mean we pay less if he does come?
