@TheDaBoss I was stuck in Taree due to road closure at this time, no one unqualified was allowed any where near the fires, not saying he wouldn’t fight the fires if allowed, but let’s be realistic here, he was more concerned re the size of the bulls balls

Lads.

We are firming....

https://www.cowboys.com.au/news/2019/11/24/cowboys-sign-holmes-on-long-term-deal/

Any particular part firming?

Said it on the other thread, approach Drinkwater and see if he is interested and use it to pressure Mitchell to make decision. Circs not the same, but the money saved if Mitchell / manager keep pussy footing around, would go to an other gun forward.

So for those that keep saying we are following a process and these things take time:

Cowboys certainly got the job done with Holmes quickly and efficiently. Well done them.

Holmes to the Cows had been rumoured since around Origin time..

We are being taken for a ride with this dude, if he gets a release from roosters and plays with us 2020, he’ll pull a Matterson at end of season and go to bunnies.
It may take a bit to sign a contract, but if anyone offered me 1 mill to sign, my only problem would be how many pages they wanted me to sign

@underdog Yes we are. We should now revise our offer accordingly.

Our negotiating terms when we made them I hope had deadlines - that’s how business works. Now Holmes is off the market, do we really think we should still be giving the same or are we going down the same track tearing up ridiculous amounts of monies on players and coaches who can still pull out anyway it seems these days regardless of what is inked?

I’m not totally sold on him for the money but happy to take a risk with the right return. If his sole focus was most money and see what happens with Cowboys then that is a big red flag for me. Higher the risk, the lower the multiple.

Let’s see how this plays out now but I will be gobsmacked if he gets what we originally said.

Yeah, I'm not sure who thinks he's a hero. But from what I've heard and read he's a pretty decent bloke off field.
I think he's a 22y/o footballer with several advisors of various qualities. He is negotiating potentially a very big employment contract and I imagine he wants to get it right.
I don't think it is fair or reasonable for anonymous forum members to disrespect him and call him a clown just because they are impatient with a process that they don't even understand.
I also don't think he needs to rush into signing with WT immediately after he meets with our management. I'd rather he, and Wests Tigers, consider their options carefully and come up with a mutually agreeable result.
When is the last time you negotiated a multimillion dollar employment contract for yourself?
The last time I did was never.

I had a very interesting conversation with my son when Brooks was negotiating his last contract. My son, who went to same school as Brooks, said, “Dad, if I was Brooks, would you be recommending I sign a 4 year deal with the Tigers or would you want me to get a good deal at a club where I’d be successful?” I sat there and stared at him for a long time, thinking, contemplating...I’ll answer him one day I’m sure.
Point is, we have no record to attract greatness. If he signs with us it is a huge gamble.
Note: I’ve taken my black, gold and white goggles off to write this!

I honestly think hes waiting to get out of his Roosters contract then go to Souths. They will get rid of Johnstone or Gagai. Hel play fullback for them.

Gut feeling. Id put feelers out to Drinkwater in case.

But not seriously negotiated until he was sure he would not be an NFL player.

Origin time? It was rumoured when he was still at the Sharks. It was even suggested the NFL attempt was a ruse to get out of his contract, to eventually get to the Cows.

Signing Latrell is a must,If we cant attract the biggest stars we lose in all departments.
Signing second raters will never win a Premiership.
LATRELLS Last year at rorters showed he wasnt Happy.
Could be the biggest signing since ARTHUR BEETSON AS AN INDGININOUS talent.
The Blues and Aussie set up want him ,youd think they would be pretty good judges.
If Latrelle fires hes guaranteed more big contracts and his future is set up, Fail he goes back to peanut deals. THIS his big chance hes the one under pressure not the CLUB.

It was rumoured he had signed a deal with the Cowboys before he went to the NFL!
