Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
You gullible fools!!!

I told all you fools from the start, players like Latrell Mitchell don't come to the Weststigers.
I really can't believe you actually thought it would happen.

Drone malfunction...

Someone is looking foolish..agreed..

Did you take my drone story seriously?

I genuinely think some people did, one of the highlights of this thread. And really, a summation of it.

Well if they did, it's confirmation that people will believe anything if it suits their bias.
Obviously I was just having a laugh at the whole situation.

My constant "has he signed yet" posts were also taking the piss out of everyone hanging on every piece of "news" to come out, I really enjoyed the whole ride.
Reading the stuff posted on here just shows how desperate we are to sign a quality player.

You are the first to incessantly whinge that the club is useless and mediocre and never do anything to change our forever 9th situation. They attempt to do so and the whole time you take the pessimistic route and dump on everyone who had hopes that it would come to fruition and that the club might finally be a place that could attract a player of LM's calibre. And then when it does fall through at the 11th hour you piss on the ashes of everyone's flamed out hopes.

Dick move.

You don't seem to understand the difference between "hope" and "belief"

I was all for him being a Tiger (after my initial reservations) I was "hoping" we'd sign him.
But I didn't "believe" we would.
Why?

Because players like Latrell don't come to clubs like the Tigers.
if you don't like that fact it's not my fault.

And it would have been fine if you left it at that. But you didn't.

Most of your posts in this thread have offered nothing except for sarcastic posts trying to get a rise out of people with a smattering of your actual opinion on the matter.

Because this whole thread has been a joke to me

You've made that painfully clear.

I understand you're upset, don't take your frustrations out on the ones who could see this whole thing was a joke and treated it as such.

I'm disappointed it didn't pan out, to say I'm upset is an overreach.

You're entitled to your opinion.

I reckon Megan Gale could offer you a round in the sack and you'd still find something to complain about.

What have I complained about?

I've been taking the piss out of this whole situation, maybe you're confusing me with someone else

Yep lot's of disappointment all around. I rarely post (the Chinese firewall causes a few problems for me!!) but have been reading with interest. Looks to me like letting Matterson go might have assisted in putting some space together for Leilua and maybe Utoikamanu from Parra? Yes he's from 2021 but it could be that part of the lure is "you can have $$ if you can get a release for 2020." Others have commented that we can't lure the top end talent to come here and that's true. Well, we can but we'll be paying overs compared to Roosters, Broncs and so on. I like what we are doing with the juniors. Perhaps we are paying a bit overs for some of these guys, but paying 20 or 30% overs for young players at the bottom end of your cap has a lot less impact if you get it wrong and pay 20-30% overs on players at the top end - Reynolds, Matalino, Packer etc...If we can develop some of these young to guys, pick up a moneyball signing or two like we have in recent years (Corey Thompson, Garner, Momo) and only focus near top end money on players without significant baggage (ie not the Mitchell's and Foran's) then we'll develop nicely. We can't do a Gold Coast or West Tigers of recent years, thinking out of desperation to make the eight, let's pay whatever we need to to get a few "proven first graders" then end up paying top tier money for average to good first grade players (Reynolds, Packers for us, Peachey, Cartwright, Boyd for GC). If you get those punts wrong, it sets back your cap for 2-3 seasons. Be cautious and if you are going to have a punt, make it an Abby type player who had the talent coming though but got punted because of injury (a poor man's Scott Prince) or something along those lines. Take risk at the bottom end of your cap, not the top end is basically what I'm saying.

What's the obsession with Lomax?

From what I've seen he's nothing flash
Him and Xerri are the most overrated players in the game

Just out of curiosity, of those players available, who do you rate?

Have seen numerous people saying this oh well move on, good to see the club has balls and blah blah. Bull. Total bull. This club is in a tragic spot. We lost our best player last season for Next to nothing, we have arguably the worst spine in the comp with only 1 player in it being a certainty. These resignings and Leilua mean absolutely nothing if we can’t get a marquee player for next season. Club is a joke and we’re in a terrible spot. Be lucky to finish top 12 next season

It's disappointing that it has turned out like this. Would've been a huge gain to have him in our backline but this just shows his heart was never in it and only coming for the money. With our recent history the only players we will get will be the ones that want bulk coin, or are unwanted by everybody else. It sucks but it is what it is. It's where we are at as a club.

A bit of stability, a team that plays their guts out and the tide will turn.

Going out on a limb here....none that would come to Wests Tigers

Jesus's I wish people would quit trying to impress anonymous strangers with. "I always said blah blah" & "I can assure you..."

It's so boring.

Go buy your girl some flowers... That might impress & you might get lucky

We released Matterson and Marsters early and now our best hope is to POSSIBLY sign Luciano Leilua and Zane Musgrove. I think this leaves us with a weaker squad than 2019. Paying $2000 for Season Tickets to NOT make the Semis again is a decision that will haunt me

Luciano is 100% with us, all pieces are falling in place and the Pom confirmed it

But we were told "We won't be releasing Matterson early unless it benefits Wests Tigers" we've negatively impacted our squad by releasing him BEFORE we had a better player secured.

It benefited us by not having to pay him a cent from his 2020 contract when we did...meanwhile the Rorters are paying Mitchell 14K a week to go fishing

That makes zero sense, Maybe I'm missing something.

Wests had a player who was worth ~ double what they were playing him but had a contract. That's sports. They did not have to release him but if they did, they would want market value for him, not what his contract was for.

So no, they didn't save 350 from 2020, they lost a 600+k player they were paying 350k for. That 350k will mean sweet FA in the cap situation and that move has greatly weakened the team.

I'm still at a loss to know what Wests got from the "deal". Apart from shafted. again. By poor management. Again.

Just like what Geo said... What's the matter son didn't want to be here so he was released... he will just cause a heap of problems and that WEAKENS the team

geez some people don't look at the whole picture... shortsightedness ???

Huh? I agree, people do not look at the long term picture..... Regardless of him not wanting to play with the club or not, he had a contract. Matto at 70% effort would be better than what is at the club now. Add to that the precedent that's been now been cemented with the latest turncoat to run to parra is if you dont like the club, just leave when you want.

Wests had a real chance to either get a player of RM market value or send a strong signal that he can rot in reggies. RM you would think would want to play well to get the next contract so he wouldve played in the firsts. If you think that wests proving to be a soft target, again, is sort sighted...well, you're just naive

Can the tiges hold onto the money they have until 2021 when there are better players available? because the general consensus is those players that are available don't look particularly fantastic...

It's a matter of whether we can forward pay some of the contracts. Guys who we know will be at the club for the long term, like Brooksy. But it would be limited how much we can do.

You could do it with the likes of Packer Mbye and Reynolds too..would equate to the same space next year..

Don't think they will go down that road myself..

He obviously didn't want to come

We could've let him string us along for another 6 months before having him tell us thanks but no thanks and than cried about it

Would you rather we did that?

Ahh the emotions of the forum...Take the POM at his word and move on. Latrell wasn't the issue in all of this, it's another peanut manager thinking he can play clubs off of each other that's the problem.

See this is what I don’t understand. Can’t these ‘adult’ players make a decision on their own without having to cowtow to their manager’s wishes? If they want to accept the offer and they don’t agree with the way their manager is handling things, can’t they just override them? It’s their life and their career after all.
