Thank Christ that’s over ..
Mitchell’s a flog ..ain’t worth 1 million

I said from the start this was a risky and very pricy attempt to solve our problem with so called a”Big Bang” recruitment.
When he didn't sign within a reasonable period the writing was on the wall for us. As someone already said we pulled the contract about a week later than what we should have done and in this period we very well may have missed the boat on a number of other fronts.
I know that some of us are disappointed but .... but believe me ..... we dodged a bullet.

What other boats? The woman basher and Capewell are the only 2 players that have made moves over the last week. If anything, they've pulled the offer at the right time, so they can make a decent play at JAC if he becomes available.

Brimson, Staggs and Papenhuyzen are the biggest name backs that have extended recently that I can recall. Curtis Scott may or may not be signed up with Canberra already. It's annoying that we were focused on Latrell and then got dicked, but I'm not going to criticise them for it.

How is Brimson going to feel if the Titans do sign LM, we might be able to pick him up cheap as the Titans signed him to play Fullback.

He is still contracted to the Roosters anyway doesn't have to do anything. As soon as South's money comes through he will either get an immediate release or the Roosters have enough talent to do what they like with him next season.

It's not a bad plan to be honest.

He better start writing an apology letter to Mr. Politis if that's the case, they've come out and said he'll be playing Canterbury Cup, the coach was on record saying they've spoken and he wants to play fullback - he's free to negotiate & opted out of the end of year trip. I wouldn't be surprised if the chooks lost Tetavano as a casualty of all this dragging on - Easts would not be overly content to just pay him for nothing when Billy Smith is ready to go

Edit: they were shopping Tetavano already

@Ponyo I think he’ll sign with Souths for 2021, play reserve grade for the roosters until Souths get the burgess medical retirement allowance and then he’ll go there pre June 30

What's the obsession with Lomax?

From what I've seen he's nothing flash
Him and Xerri are the most overrated players in the game

Just out of curiosity, of those players available, who do you rate?

Mitchell and Arrow

The cap money Souths are hoping for is not likely to come, if in fact it does, until towards mid 2020.

Won't do his representative career for 2020 much good,

True, but it’s probably better than going to the titans. That would be a career killer.

I am sure that Lattrell’s destination will be locked in less than 48 hours after you are looking at this post.

Ahh the emotions of the forum...Take the POM at his word and move on. Latrell wasn't the issue in all of this, it's another peanut manager thinking he can play clubs off of each other that's the problem.

See this is what I don’t understand. Can’t these ‘adult’ players make a decision on their own without having to cowtow to their manager’s wishes? If they want to accept the offer and they don’t agree with the way their manager is handling things, can’t they just override them? It’s their life and their career after all.

Mitchell was never coming here ...

How dare you say that!!!

Apparently Mitchell really really really wanted to be a Tiger but his manager hog tied and gagged him

There is the possibility that we have called their bluff. This will determine how bad things are at the Roosters. Might be some scrambling going on.

I really like our new Chairman

So now we're saying the door is still open???

If we've pulled the offer the door should be closed, otherwise what does it actually mean to pull the offer?

This is just ridiculous now.

We've either closed the door or we haven't, if we haven't, then the offer hasn't been pulled.

Seems like he's called our bluff

Basically seems to me theyre trying to do to Mitchell through Ado carr, what the cowboys used to get Holmes through Mitchell. Put the promised money back into the players market as a way to give the guy your after a kick in the rear to hurry up and make a decision. If he comes great use the money originally promised, if not the money is back out ready to be used on someone else in this case perhaps Ado carr.

Nothing is as black and white as you make out. It’s always shades of grey. The dichotomy is false. Personally I am happy the door is still open. Doesn’t mean he will come but it is good business sense.

@TIGER ....Yep the doors open if they want to walk through it, but what he said was they are now looking at other players and are not going to lock up a million dollars till LM makes his mind up.
Smart move by the Tigers

It would be a stupid move to close the door when negotiation is still an option.

I'm really glad you're not a part of the WT recruitment team.
