Latrell Mitchell Contract Discussion

I hold no ill will towards Latrell. His management team have destroyed the poor kids image and reputation. I know at the end of the day he employs them but the kid is 22 and been terribly misguided.

So after reading Madges comments where he clearly explained that the reason the contract was pulled was because of Latrell not attending a meeting and his lack of commitment to the club is there anyone who still wants to argue with me that it's his managers fault he didn't sign?

It's quite clear now (like I said) the reason why Latrell didn't sign is because Latrell doesn't want to play for us.

This is why I keep calling you fools, fools for believing that he wants to play for the Tigers, what will it take for you to understand that he doesn't?
Very slow learners some people on here

@TIGER where does he explain this? Do you have a link?

I think he was fooled by the way it was written. Maguire is never quoted as saying that.

You know champ, I don’t get into personally attacking people on the forum and I’m not going to lower myself to your level. But your constant calling forum members fools is disrespectful and abusive.
Also, I couldn’t be bothered explaining how you’ve misread the article quoting Maguire. Suffice to say your post is inaccurate.
I’m hoping the mods take your involvement on this forum out of your hands.

Smart move by the Tigers

So nothing has changed, we're still waiting for Mitchell, we're just playing semantics with the words "closed door" and "contract pulled"

The contract is still there if he wants it (it was never pulled) the door is still open (it was never closed) so the ball is still firmly in his court, nothing has changed other than we muttered the words "contract pulled" for a few hours to try to bluff and hurry him up.

This is a bigger joke than I ever imagined, we just look really ready desperate now

Pascoe said the doors shut ..
The doggy door and the cat flap !

Those saying the doors ajar are just living in hope lol

Well our chairman said the door is still open, so now we look like bigger idiots

Geez you must have incredibly high standards. The rest of us should look up to you. Surprising you choose to associate with such a bunch of losers.

So our chairman live on radio says "the door is still open"
And
Out CEO says "the door is closed"

And you think that doesn't make us look like fools?

I look at that and think that we're not communicating and presenting a consistent message, I ask why is one person saying one thing and the other the total opposite?

I wonder how confused Latrell and his manager are hearing 2 opposite responses, is the door open or closed right now?

Our CEO said that if he would like to negotiate a deal again, they will be happy to re visit but we won’t be approaching him or his management.

Can you show me where Maguire said that

It's quite clear the reason why the contract was pulled is because of Latrells lack of commitment, read between the lines, does it really matter if Madge did or didn't say those exact words.
The message is what matters and the message is as I've said all along and been flamed for,

Mitchell doesn't want to play for us!!!!

That’s probably because our chair is still obsessed with a “big head” signing and Madge couldn’t give a stuff any more.

Pascoe never said the door was closed. Never even mentioned a door. He said if Latrell and his management want to come back to the table, they are welcome, but for now the club is pursuing other interests. Pretty much echoing what the chairman said. You’re adding 2 and 2 and coming up with 5.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that if he wanted to be a Tiger he would have signed.
He doesn't want to play for us, do you want to hear him say it himself?
Aren't his actions and lack of action saying enough?

But all you want to focus on is me writing something that wasn't a quote from Madge, semantics

Madge is no fool, and knows what he wants at the club to achieve success, a competitive, fit, driven group that want to achieve the same winning goals, and anybody that's not on that same page won't be there. We have missed out on targeted players, but that is the nature of the beast. But what they are doing, is targeting youth that will become elite players, and that's great for the long term future of the club. We do need a fullback and more depth in the back row, let's see how it all falls in place over the next few weeks.

Wouldn't surprise me all that much if Mitchell's people contacted Pascoe sometime soon seeking further talks. Latrell's options, for season 2020 at least, look pretty limited at the moment. What we should do if this happens is another matter entirely.

I think the coach has made his decision..

"quite clear" and "read between the lines" are mutually exclusive. It may be quite clear to you because you are prepared to make assumptions after 'reading between the lines'. The rest of us fools are reading the facts that are written and treating the rest with scepticism.

@TIGER I'm not trying to put you down or argue mate. If it was quoted and facts then I would most likely agree with you but the actual facts we have is that 3 weeks in there was no progression so we have decided to pull the offer off the table. I refuse to believe any of these journalists. It is the off-season and most of the time it is their time to shine and rubbish the game

sounds like most people on this forum just want hope. Hope we can get a talented player like Latrell- a once in a generation talent. We're all in the same boat.

Think it is a lot more than that for many, including myself. Hope and prayers is the line from our PM whilst doing b****r all, whilst we have been seeing actions from our WT.

I am sure that despite retracting the Mitchell offer yesterday, the vast majority of supporters are happy that WT are now out there having a go and from the top down are openly expressing their plans and desires.

Certainly looks like they missed out on their first shot, but you never score if you don't attempt the shot.

I'll reiterate what I posted the other day, Mitchell is the be all and end all of nothing and as for consistency in his game go have a good close look for yourselves.

Personally I hope Maguire goes back to PLAN A and throws the kitchen sink at Lomax.
