Remember Newcsatle? 3 wooden spoons and then Mitchell Pearce said yes. After that quite a few good signings happened. We just need the ball rolling.

So we’re signing Mitchell Pearce???

Sorry

No But Wayne says Hi

I'm just not really sure where that big signing is on the horizon

Darius Boyd - were good at these types of signings

Dont even joke about something as horrendous as that please

Sorry - my bad

@TIGER doesn't seem to bother you if you make yourself look like a clown so not sure your why your worried if our Chair looks like an idiot or not.

I've said from the beginning that players like Latrell don't sign with the Tigers.
If you just read Madges comments he clearly explained that we pulled the offer because of Latrells lack of commitment to our club.
Which means Latrell doesn't want to play for us, which is what I've been trying to get through people's thick heads

So please point out anything I've said that has been inaccurate.

Can you give it a rest mate.
The "I told u so" attitude isn't impressing anyone.
All I've seen from you is some high and mighty attitude.
Wow, congrats... you're pessimistic and moaned and groaned about the tigers trying to sign a star player and it didn't happen.

You predicted correct now you want praise for getting it right? Get outta here kid.

Would it benefit both parties to give Mitchell a one year/ one million dollar contract as fullback? He needs time to sort himself out and we need a fullback. If he doesn't put in he wouldn't get that money anywhere else, and if he does do good we benefit, and he might even decide to stay. Part of the deal would be he doesn't sign anywhere else until season end.

This could be a new thing. It could be called “The Matterson Contract!!”
Pascoe: “we’ve decided to sign Latrell to a Matterson Contract. Then after one year he can spit the dummy and p**s off.”

Seriously though, I think your idea has merit

Well you can lead a horse to water and all that, but on a four year contract Latrell would just go to sleep. This way he would be playing for his future.

I said previously that no one knows yet whether Mitchell will become Greg Inglis or Owen Craigie. One year contract not a bad idea

Matterson contracts have to have a Sanity Clause because he'll be gone by Christmas.

What about a Santa Clause?

I wonder if you can put a clause in that says if LM is dropped as a fullback, his salary drops to 450k but he can also leave immediately if he chooses. That would protect both parties.

Even 450k beats playing for Jason Taylor.

Not a bad idea - 1 year 500K as fullback and if he performs and he is in the right head space offer the 3 year million dollar a year contract. He might find that he likes the place.

I don't see any losers this way. He would never have considered a short contract last week but the ball is in our court now thanks to some aggressive management.

every club would have 12 months to arrange their salary cap to fit him in. we wouldn't be a chance to retain him after a year. Would be a waste from our side too because we're no chance to win anything in 2020.

He'd be better off playing reserve grade for Norths. He'd have the same chance of winning the premiership as the Tigers anyway.

Just as a final point, if he's rejected us for 4 years at almost a mil a year i don't think he'd say yes to 1 year at half the rate.
