Latu Fainu #282

I don’t see the difference in head injury risk between the grades personally … you are just as likely to suffer further head injury in NSW Cup as NRL…

What do you expect to happen this week with his selection ?
Only thing I can assume is the lower grades are a lot slower, he's only young were not pushing for finals why not just ease him back in.

why wasn’t he picked last weekend though ? There was nothing to lose instead of persisting with Sezer… let’s see what he has FFS … we have been waiting all year
Latu
Got a Head knock last game injured again,
Maybe play him in the reggies for the rest of this year and let’s see if he can last without another injury.
Remembering he is just another kid beginning his career so let’s just forget about this year and start again next year for him.

Why not play him in the NRL this weekend? He played the 80 last week in reserve grade … they have nothing to lose right? Sezer won’t be here next year

Just my opinion
If he is as good as people have mentioned he should be able to kill it in reserve grade and get his confidence back up.
Hate to see him get another shot this year in our top side and heaven help us he gets another injury.
This year is over let him start again next year.

maybe they are keeping him in cotton wool until Galvin goes at the end of next year … Im struggling to see where he fits in otherwise…

Galvin will be the 6 next year and JL the 7 if they want their best halves combination to play
Why are you so convinced Galvin leaves next year? Because I have sources near it and they are saying the complete opposite.

This weekend is fine.
Surely you can understand of letting him find his feet in NSW cup after coming back from a head knock. The speed of the games between NRL and NSW Cup is very different. Be patient my friend.

I dont have a lot of faith in anyone here who claims anonymous sources

He rejected Richo’s offer for an extension - why ? Could be getting paid more money now..

Is he or his family enamoured with what his agent is telling him?

Have some faith mate

Luai will make the difference

Sezer has had his moments, but overall, he has been very poor given his experience.

He has failed in a number of areas where an aging halfback should at least be competent.

Last tackle options, kicking execution and unforced discipline-based errors just being a couple of areas of issue for him this season.
Yeah. He's had a funny sort of season. He's definitely been good in some areas, particularly first half of the season, but as the season has gone on a few areas have been exposed. The suspensions haven't helped.
For the first part of the season his defence was solid enough and he was actually driving the line speed. His kicking game was also pretty good, a big improvement compared to what we had become accustomed to with Luke Brookes and Brandon Wakeham.
Second half of the season he has shot out of the line leaving either side of him exposed, his kicking game has gone off a bit. Maybe the wear and tear back in NRL has been a factor, but he has been suspended for about 6 or 7 games from memory. He is worth keeping as a backup option for another season I reckon, but only if Bud Sullivan moves on.

He defence was pretty poor against rabbits, watched him miss and fall off alot of tackles ... I wish he hadn't been suspended, and galvin hip drop, really scuppered any combinations ....

Yeah I agree ....let him build some confidence at lower levels until seasons end

How much was the offer compared to what top halves in the game are earning?

Lachlan could:

- sign on the lower end of the scale now and commit.

- wait till next year, see how he gels with luai, in which case the tigers offer him more money.

- he gets injured and resigns at a lesser amount because he values loyalty after an injury.

- he leaves for ALOT more money.

He won't leave if we pay him what he's worth. He'd be stupid to lock in a $$ figure now unless we are offering him a generous amount.

Your sources don’t know?

But they tell you he is going to remain here … Do you want to elaborate on what more they said …and how they might know what he might do? I imagine info like this would be pretty tightly held …

Benji basically just said that we've had a horror injury toll, and then players haven't been in form of haven't got their fitness up to speed.
If anything, what he said was a slight on Sullivan, who's played a lot more Cup. Definitely nothing with Fainu, the poor kid only just got 80 mins under his belt for the first time this season.
Does he offer more value on the bench than TDS though is the question

Why does that matter? Is he currently one of the top halves? Is he always destined to be in the halves? His own coach isn’t sure.
We give our backup halves $500K. …

If the tigers consider Galvin a back up half then the club has a serious problem.
