The absolute best outcome for all involved for Chris to have 4 or 5 games back to back where he defends like a mad man speckled with the odd try.
This would see the whole discussion disappear and a Favourite son of ours remain where he belongs.
Good luck Chris, I'm still in your corner.

It's what we all want Spartan.

No it's not. It's what some want, and others want him gone because he's costing far too much cash for far too little return. Good bloke or no good bloke. He's in someone elses spot because of a crazy contract. If he had any conscience, he'd up and leave himself knowing full well he's not up to it.
I wonder if you got hurt at work and could no longer perform your duties as well as you currently do would you just quit? Or would you expect to be paid compensation for the injury?
Why should any NRL player walk away from a contract just because he got injured and may not be playing as well as they'd like? If a player scores 5 tries this week do you think they get and extra 5k in their pay packet because the club didn't expect them to play that well?

Well it's funny you should say that. I did my back at work while swinging a sledge hammer in 2008 I think it was, and had an operation. I didn't claim compo. I realise not many would do that, but I did.
**My point is, if he's such a brilliant club man, and he knows damn well that the club is struggling financially, and he must know that he is under performing and has done for an awful long time, then the right thing to do would be to man up and say look fellas, I'm cooked. You guys should move on without me. Not only is he taking someone elses place, but he's holding back the team, the club and the opportunity of another.**
What scoring 5 tries in a game has to do with anything I don't know where you're going there. That's the idea of the game. Put points on the board. Something Chris Lawrence hasn't done to any large degree for what seems like an eternity. As a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I saw him break the line. Ive seen him drop the ball a bit, miss tackles, run out of play….yeah, thats about it.

Spot on WD! I said the same thing in another thread recently, but got shot down for it also. I just think it would be the right and decent thing to do in this kind of situation. If I was permanently injured at work or wherever and couldn't perform my duties satisfactorily anymore then I would have to step aside and perhaps look for a less physical role within the company or move on altogether - it just makes sense to me, rather than hindering your team mates and those all around you.
