Any news???
Great win but if we lose him it could be a massive loss.
Benji looks so much better with Lawrence outside him.

Benji just said it was Lawrence's hammy, hopefully it wasn't too bad. Benji said "hopefully should be right for next week.

The positive was it didnt look to bad, it looked like a small twinge, hopefully he'll be alright. If we beat Penrith next week, we are virtually assured of a semi spot.

HAMSTRING STRAIN FOR CHRIS LAWRENCE
By Wayne Cousins

Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence will have an MRI scan over the weekend to determine the extent of a hamstring strain.

Lawrence suffered the injury on his way to setting up the match winning try for Beau Ryan in the thrilling 16-14 victory over St George Illawarra Dragons at the Sydney Football Stadium tonight.

An ultrasound has confirmed the hamstring strain.

"The ultrasound showed that there is no major, major tear which means it is not at the top end scale,' Lawrence said.

"There is something little there so it looks low range. I felt like I could have probably stayed out there but with 4 minutes to go, the trainer took me off when I mentioned it.

"It is pretty sore now."

I think at worst he will miss next week and if it was a final he would probably play but he can afford a week off to get it right just be interesting to see who takes his place

I believe the 2nd most important player in the team other than Benji.

We are an 8th placed side really at best without him. On both those tries he had a hand in tonight if it had happened on the opposite side of the field I am of a strong belief we dont score.

I dont mind if he misses next week or the next two.I woudlnt risk him unless hes 100%

Ice up and rest up. Now that the Tigers have accounted for both Manly and the Dragons, they can afford to rest Lawrence for the Panthers and Eels matches. Either slot Brown into the centres, or Sheens will shift McKinnon back to fullback and move Moltzen into the centres.

I'd rest him next week if he isnt fit as he will be of vital importance for us for the remainder of the year. Would hate to see him rip it fully. He didnt look too bad though.

I reckon 2-3 week injury He was able to continue to back up at half speed after we scored . How it pulls up over next 48 hours will be crucial

I hope Chrissy Lawrence is back next week, he is a beauty isn't he? Just on another note I just saw a rehash of the game on channel 10 and it showed Soward wanted to come off with a back injury he was obviously in pain (normally you have to drag players off), but he was told to stay on!!!! So we targeted him and went in for a try. Good for us but lousy of the training staff at St George or Bennett, he is now injured with a maybe season ending injury with his back. Probably excaccerbated by staying on. I know this is not our problem, but is is questionable for them to risk their main playmaker like that. I was quite astounded.

Lawrence confident leg injury is not serious

Chris Lawrence (L) played a crucial role in the Tigers' winning try before hobbling off with a leg injury.

Map: Balmain Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence is confident he will be fit for the NRL finals after dispelling fears a hamstring injury suffered in Friday night's win over St George Illawarra could have been related to his hip dislocation.

Lawrence sent Tigers fans' hearts to their mouths when he left the field soon after playing a major role in his side's match-clinching 75th-minute try.

The injury is on the same side as the hip he injured in round three against Canberra and which sidelined Lawrence for four months.

Coach Tim Sheens said it was possible the Test centre could experience problems in his right leg over his career.

But Lawrence said a preseason of strength work could prevent that.

"I got all the strength back in my hip and everything like that but it's obviously going to take me a full preseason to get everything a hundred per cent the same strength," he said.

"That's with every injury.

"When you're off for so long it doesn't matter how much work you do on it, it's going to take months and months of rehab so we'll see.

"My right side's probably just a little bit weaker than my left.

"After a full preseason of really hammering the strength on it, it should be fine."

Lawrence underwent an ultrasound immediately after the 16-14 Sydney Football Stadium victory and will have MRI scans over the weekend.

"It's a bit sore, we'll see how the scans go over the weekend and hopefully it's not too bad, it's only a few weeks," he said.

"(The ultrasound) showed that there wasn't a major tear which means it's not top-end scale but there's definitely something little there so it's probably low range.

"We've still got four or five weeks til the finals so that's good for me, it gives me a good chance to come back."

Lawrence said he had been more concerned about the Tigers scoring to overhaul a 14-12 Dragons lead than the injury.

"I accelerated to try and kick away and felt it go," he said of the 70m Tigers effort.

"I knew if I passed too early I'd bomb the try so I just tried to hold on and draw the man.

"Lucky enough we got the try."

St George Illawarra five-eighth Jamie Soward suffered back spasms and left the field in the 66th minute, while back rower Beau Scott suffered a hamstring problem.

Left edge of Ellis-Lawrence-Lote = we are premiership contenders.

Left edge missing Lawrence and Lote for the next few weeks = we could lose even the 'easy games'.

Class is irreplaceable. Massive loss if he's out again.

Hopefully it's just a strain and will only miss a week 2 at the most..
The team looks completely different out there with him on that left hand edge.
