Let them go now

hi all, im a newby to the tigers forum and i live in bris with all the scummy bronco fans - unfortunately.
i am a life long fan and used to frequent leichardt as a kid in the late 80's
firstly i want to wish ivan cleary all the best. he has an enormous job ahead of him but to me it seems he has already made some big calls of quality. pulling moses' enormous contract was a great decision. you just dont pay that amount of loot for a kid who really has done nothing.

as for tedesco and woods, i am really gutted teddy has gone. on the flip side that germ we call our captain -woods. he can piss right off to the dead beats at the the dogs. this bloke sits on nrl fox with a smug look on his face and blames everyone but himself everyweek. he is an over rated stats chaser and is non effective in defense.
i guess we will see some short term pain with the movements of the 3 lads. however we will have plenty of loot to be very active in the next 2 years. im prepared to hang tight and let ivan assemble a new roster of good players, rather than scum like woods.

I'm gonna be a father in September the baby can grow up and support who they want I don't believe in making your kids become fans of your team, then he or she can choose who the hell I can support next I don't wish upon anyone to be a tigers fan.

They should still be picked in FG. Take the emotion out of it guys, we have no one better to replace them with. People are too emotionally invested in this. Worry about what you can control.

Your right at this point there maybe no one better to replace them but at the same time if the other guys are not given a crack then how do we really know that we don't have better. Like Josh Reynolds would have to be one of the least talented 5/8's currently playing but what he lacks in skill he certainly makes up with passion and enthusiasm (which is something our club captain appears to be lacking), just maybe someone from reserve grade could just be our Josh Reynolds but cant get a go.

So how long do you go through this season playing guys that are leaving before deciding to give another player a crack to prove himself?

Unless there's a change of heart by Cleary these 3 will be around for the year.
It will be interesting to see:
1\. How they perform knowing they won't be around next season
2\. What effect it will have on the rest of the team. Will their presence be destabilizing?
3\. What Cleary does if and when we're out of finals contention.

We can't afford to tank the rest of the season, which is what we would be doing by dropping these blokes. It's just not a professional way to go about things and it would be pretty unappealing to potential signings. Cleary won't do it and nor should he.

I get we cant afford to tank trust me I don't want to see us finish last whish would be highly likely with out these three, I tend to think that perhaps we don't have players to cover to the abilities of teddy and MM in their positions but surely we can bring along a prop to play off the bench and gain some experience going forward.

I also thought somewhere along the lines id read that Nofo through his junior years kept teddy out of fullback?? maybe then throughout the remaining games he needs to play some fullback to give Ivan an idea as to whether he plays fullback next year or do we need to spend up looking for a replacement (ie Dugan- not that I want him)

I get the unprofessional approach, but what happens if we keep playing like we all know we do and finish 14th with those three playing anyway? I think we're better off looking ahead and getting some cohesion with those on the bus, that way at least potential signings know they're walking in to a team that gives 100% and are committed to the cause, rather than uncertainty of how they'd hold up without Teddy, Woods and Moses.
As far as I'm concerned; Teddy and Nofo to split the duties, Woods to the bench and Brooks to control the team in a traditional 6/7 role when he gets back with Moses as the link man.

I honestly don't want to see these scumbags in our jerseys ever again. If I have to I will be death riding the hell out of them. The season is over I may as well enjoy it. I'm really looking forward to the next leichhardt game. I'm sure the comments on the hill will be interesting to say the least.

I hope the precious ones wear ear muffs.

Let them feel the same pain if we do loose a game
Let Woods face the media after Sunday as captain if we loose then on Monday strip him of it
Hay we can blame them if we loose

I think you have it the wrong way around. The best thing that could happen is we start killing it, make the 8 and pack every home game out. Have them leaving with regret.

Ur most probably right but atm i just cant support these dogs…..i wonder how the players are feeling.i woldnt be happy if the guns in my team walked out claiming they couldnt win a premiership with this lot....thats gota hurt.

It would be funny to have us make the grand final. Then the team as a whole say no we don't want to play with you. Drop them for final. Sorry boys you didn't think we could make finals. So you don't deserve to be playing with us.

I think that some of us are used to a better time when players like Roach, Jack, Elias, Pierce were tigers for all of their playing careers and we just expected them to be there. Today is a different game and i guess we just have to get used to it. I do think that the league however needs to look at clubs that bring thru junior players who become club figureheads and can just be snatched by clubs with bigger outside sponsorship deals.I think we will all get excited again when hopefully Ivan buys smart committed players who we all get to enjoy now and in the future. ET has been with us for less than a season and we have adopted him because of his qualities and want to make him Captain so we will survive. As to Woods i am very disappointed in his actions as a captain and should have been more upfront, but then again he has never really been a upfront player on the field and i wish the dogs the best of luck getting anything out of him, maybe a haircut clause in his contract might be a good start.
I am worried about how these players will put in over the coming months BUT more worried about their treatment by fans over the balance of the season. Cleary will need to be very careful in monitoring their form and the used of players like Felise.
