Liam Fulton Forced into Retirement

Great player ,very underrated hards as nails , you knew what you were getting and never gave up

My Liam Fulton moment that describes him was a game v the Knights when he got knocked out

He gets up obviously totally out of it , Benji put a bomb up and Liam chases on instinct and then collapses again

That told me a lot about Liam

The Liam Fulton Appreciation Society will live forever

You will be greatly missed by all Tigers fans (bar Watto , the Giraffe hater )

Sad day for all us Wests tigers fans, he was such a great player and shame he couldn't finish off his career on his terms, thanks Liam for all your hard work and dedication over all these years, and it was a privilege meeting you at the coaches night this year

Great club player that always put in his best. One of the first players to come through the junior teams and play out a full career with Wests Tigers.

A very solid defender and pretty handy ball player too - threw a cracking cutout pass to win the 2010 semi final against the Roosters.

Just heard the sad news , what a great club man , what a great player in our team , best of luck to him and his family in the future , I hope he is kept around the club , he is a genuine real nice bloke

What a sad sad day
But his health is priority

Thanks champ for your contribution

That's what, the fourth Wests Tigers player to be forced to retire due to injury? Pretty heartbreaking

Easts never made the 8 in 2011,maybe saints you mean.

I am both happy and sad.

Sad because he is my favourite Wests player at the moment. I love how he always gave 100 %. He was also very friendly and approachable when I asked for a photo at the SCG heritage round last year. It is still my facebook profile pic.

Happy because, the long term damage to the constant head knocks is a scary thought. I hope he finds something fulfilling to do in his retirement and enjoys his family time !

So sad to see my favourite tiger end his career like this.
Fulton always gave 100% every game and tackled like a machine.
His courage will be sorely missed.
Liam may not have been the biggest player we had but he had the biggest heart & never gave up.
He was always a great club man and encouraged the newer players.
I wish him every success and happiness for the future, whatever it may hold but I hope he will remain a familiar face around West Tigers for many years to come.
Liam on behalf of all the West Tigers supporters, thanks for the awesome memories"

x2 … absolute champion club man and even a cereer cut short fults can be rightly proud of his place in weststigers history both on and off the field. best wishes to you and your family liam

Far from ideal circumstances under which to retire, but the most important thing in all of this is Fulton's long term health. If retiring now means he can live a normal, happy life, then you can't ask for more really, not when your long term health is at risk.

I'd put Fulton in a similar category to Mark O'Neill, not the most talented player, or the biggest, but certainly gave his all and you knew what you would get each week, which was 100% out of him. I wish Liam and his family well for whatever the future holds.

He will certainly be missed as he never gave up and played well above his weight.I hope that his future with his family is everything that he would want it to be.Very unfortunate that it came to a premature end like this

Fulton in the right side would have played rep football for a long time. He was a great footballer, great club man and a great bloke. You cant find a home for every x footballer at the club, but Fulton is a must, he will keep people smiling and that is very important in a football club.

Have you ever heard the media or another player bag Fulton!!!!!Never

Great player and great bloke. Sorry to see him retire early. Wishing him all the very best for the future!

It was here that I expressed my absolute delight that the tigers had resigned Fults for a further 4 years and I was told by certain ppl here on the forum that he was a lightweight and a waste of money blah blah blah, we'll today is a sad day for our club with Liam retiring I for 1 (like most of us) will miss him greatly just like the team will miss his 30 odd tackles a game he made the right decision to retire no game is worth having brain damage when you are getting knocked out like Liam was every game . So to you Mr Fulton Thank You for helping us win the 05 grand final the many games I watched you play and the effort you have put in over the years go and enjoy your life now with your family Tigers Forever

Liam, be proud of what you have achieved.
Not many people get to play in a NRL grand final, let alone be in the team that wins one.

Your long term health and well being are far more important than playing footy, and when it all boils down to it, footy is just a game.

Enjoy the rest of your future with your family and may you be blessed with good health, and fun times/memories

Great warrior and a good player that played way above his weight. I hope that all your wishes after playing the toughest game of them all come true.Good Luck Liam….
