great post, where was the game plan last manly game. we knew turbo would be on, how come it was always cheekam left to defend him on his own

better have something cooking guys

After watching the first episode of the doco I’m thinking there is a game plan and the players don’t follow it.

I suppose its better than a game plan and the players don't know it.

Here is something for people to think about...

Souths removed their assistant coaches a few years ago as they felt they were not suited for the modern game and Madge needed help with tactics. The bloke gone? Snoopy Collins was let go. Siebold came in and, like him or loathe him, added incredible tactical nous. The perfect balance for Madge's speeches and rev ups...

Fast forward a few years...and guess who our lead assistant is? Snoopy Collins. Madge bringing back his mate, who Souths removed years ago as they needed a more progressive assistant.

If people can't see an issue, then I really don't know what to say...

Seibold's at the Knights now isn't he...

The way I see it .. there is no magic game plan he can come up with to beat Manly..

A win will come based on effort and attitude from the players.. much like Canberra on Thursday.. they was no special moves..there was however a lot of hard running and more importantly speed in defence...not only getting up but hitting hard when doing so..It wasn't a masterplan from Ricky..the players owned the result..

The litmus test is on the whole Club..may not win but let Manly know they are in a game of Rugby League..

I just don't want to see the following:

1. Soft tries on Nofa's wing.

2. The starting backrowers beaten on their inside arm grabbing.

3. The starters not be able to hold the fort for the first 20 and get into the grind.

If we lose, we lose. But I just want to see tactical adjustments to help with those three, season long, issues.

Keep chipping away..

Well, you could call it chipping away...with negative connotations.

Or you could call it applying some responsibility and asking questions as a Tiger's fan of 40 plus years...

**Here is a challenge for you Telltails...open a thread re our assistants.**

1. Explain their benefits, what they bring to the table

2. Explain how they have helped modernise our team and tactics.

I am looking forward to your post. I will read it objectively.

You have no faith in the coach - you are not alone - yet you have predicted the team to win by 4 against possibly the strongest side Manly can field - reliant on Maguire' s game plan.
At what point do you evaluate the difference between the playing squads when coming up with that prediction?

As I mentioned before, every team in just about all sports has one, huge, backs to the wall win in them a year.

Mage has not been able to produce that for 18 months. I have lost faith yes, but not all. I'd like some modern, high footy IQ assistants in for 2022...

Madge needs to be able to get them ready for today though, yes. Manly have been 'up' for a while and they were flat v Newcastle after a similar period of being up.

The ground has historically suited us...and, this is it. It is the whole season. Lose today and it is over.

I expect Madge to produce something.

Even if we lose by 4 after a battle, that will be a win in terms of Madge showing he can be the bloke for us long term.

But we simply can't be beaten by 20-30 down all the same holes as multiple other games.

Cleary got us two wins v Melb...with a much worse team vs a much better team than this Manly one***

*** painful to even admit Cleary was our best coach in ages as I despise the snake.

I accept that plenty are not sold on Maguire and with good reason. But let's not pretend that a win or loss today will be reliant on a lot more than Maguires game plan alone.

So much negativity on this forum. Bit over it really.

Its the truth, its hard when the team we love is not performing well.

We have outclassed all over. Broncos forwards even had the better of us. Loss by 20 points would be a great result. Expecting something like 50 10

I'm not so sure - MKM was the centre who was exposed last time & Musgrove who had a shocker isn't playing nor is the other centre JTJ. The Mikaele 13 worked last week with Joffa offa the bench. Yes, Twal is missing, but I think Seyfarth will be hungry given a fresh chance. High scoring game with a Luke Brooks field goal at the death to win for mine!
