Melbourne are going to love having JAC on the end of their backline this year. His pace is such a weapon.

He is looking good, but Col doesn't rate him.

He definitely needs to work on his defence (and plenty of other things). He's 21 and has played a handful of FG games and only trained with a FG squad for 12 mths. Time is on his side.
That said, he's a winger. The good defensive wingers play centre.

At least it wasn't the coach at the Panthers demotivating the players.

I was really disapointed with what said and following from that how we preformed.

Gets you really pumped for the season right?

Bet our memberships and casual interest will really sky rocket after this weekend!

I am pumped for the season. Takes more than a poor performance at a mickey mouse tournament to dampen my enthusiasm.

I don't think he's much of a player, but he's hardly worth the fetish people have for treating him like a punching bag. Is he a world beater? No. He's below average, but with our cap situation, we're going to have players like him. Like it or lump it.

It's a bit rich for the club to be sending us all emails about flying to Auckland to watch the team play and how we should buy the Nines jersey when they didn't give a stuff about giving the fans something to cheer about.

The club at a minimum should issue a public apology to its supporters, especially those who made the trip to Auckland and those who purchased merchandise. It is really very poor and undermines what the NRL is attempting to do holding the tournament in NZ.

You know a couple years ago i half entertained the thought of going to N.Z for the Weekend with a few mates for a Weekend of 9's action but there was a bit of Yes , No , Maybe's from Mates , it didn't eventuate .

Now after seeing the Squad that took the field this year and the lack of importance our Club gave to this Tournament….i don't give 2 hoots about it now , i reckon i watched no more than 20 minutes worth over the Weekend of this .
No Clubs give a rats about it so it seems , some more than others a real shame if you ask me .
I hold grave concern for this Tournament.

I don't think they asked fans to go, but instead said things like hope to see you there or something along those lines.

So to summarise:
Rankin still sucks, but will be there round 1
Day 1 was likely a result of Taylor's "we don't care about the 9s" attitude
Brooks was the Tigers best in our only game on day 2

Crowds were noticeably down this year… stadium less than half full both days
