Brooks was not the problem today mate . We were in it up to our eye balls. Right side defence , ie. Garner AD and Jimmy needed a rocket . Our field position was good , our game plan was good , our attack for the most part was pretty good .

Honestly that last 2 minutes doesn’t count , a fluke offside try and a Hail Mary on our tryline.

There’s a lot of kids in this team . talau , AJ , AD and they all get beaten 1 on 1 .
I. Just glad that portion of our season is over . That was torture. We are just off the top 4 , in quality . It’s mInly execution and losing key moments that’s holding us back .

We just competed mate . I’m saying this team is built around a 21 yr old half , a 20 year old fullback , the future 9 is 19, our left side edge is 21 . We have another 20 year old on the bench , and for the most part everyone is under 26 bar Tamou and Roberts .
It’s a slow process , and I think we will break the drought this year . That’s my point .

I think we only competed when Parra played bad, same as last week. Its been a slow process for a long time now, we need to demand results sometime.

Mate I’m frustrated as well . We always lose the 50 /50 plays , some of that is officiating , but most of that is maturity in competing for every last crumb we can get .
And make no mistake it is maturity and time together . The Raiders team has been together 5 years . The roosters team , have won premierships , and this eels team have been together a long time as well .
Our issue is the constant change . There’s no continuity . Every time someone drops a ball , there’s cries he needs to be dropped , every bad game someone plays, he needs to be dropped etc . And many coaches like Taylor and potter and even Madge last year , have adhered to this type of thinking .
Which imo was fine , because the players weren’t there yet .
But now with Laurie, AD , Brooks and Liddle/ Simpkin , the players are there . So we now have to watch them clunk around and play disjointed footy , until they figure it out .
This is why I think it’s different to previous years . And if the brooks hate brigade want to get rid of him , then replace madden with brooks . But the ages of the spine are then 20,22,21, and 24 or 19.
That’s spoon territory . That eels team has been settled for a long time now , and even they arnt ready yet as Mahoney and brown are early 20s themselves .

The storm halves are deceptively older than you think , Keary Teddy , friend , and (insert gun youth half here), are all late 20s early 30s.
This stuff takes time . And like I’ve been saying , every team we have played this year is top 4 , and has strong continuity. We have zero .

Our blokes are young and have talent,they have to gel as a team,this will come in time....Brooks has to learn to feed the backline JTJ is wasted out there if he is denied ball...Brooks has had time to become the general and I did think this year would be his standout,however I think he is still a private learning the routine,maybe he hasnt got what it takes...ever so frustrating....
Overaul this team needs to start showing NRL quality .otherwise a roster cleanout will be needed AGAIN...

We are a shambles in attack

Our defence is horrible .....we play dumb in both attack and defence

Brooks was one of our best today. 3 try assists, gave plenty of early ball to LL and Talau, steered the team in attack and made no mistakes. We were soundly beaten in the forwards, and had no line speed in defence. Your analysis of the game shows your bias against Brooks and general lack of Rugby League knowledge.

He was dreadful.

We died with the ball 2 or 3 times today on the last ..
Because Brooks hasn’t got the mettle

We died with the ball because in most cases there is no support player looking for an offload.
There was one time Lucy nosed his way past two defender and found Brooks (yes Brooks) in support.
Laurie tries to fill that role also but it’s early days for him to get into the team structure. But apart from Lucy we have no ball players in the forwards who promote the football.
I’m not too down on Brooks performance today. I’m disappointed with our forwards and goal line defence.
That again was the reason for our loss today.
You don’t run down sides like Parra when you give away so many stupid tries.

Brooks was not the problem today mate . We were in it up to our eye balls. Right side defence , ie. Garner AD and Jimmy needed a rocket . Our field position was good , our game plan was good , our attack for the most part was pretty good .

Honestly that last 2 minutes doesn’t count , a fluke offside try and a Hail Mary on our tryline.

There’s a lot of kids in this team . talau , AJ , AD and they all get beaten 1 on 1 .
I. Just glad that portion of our season is over . That was torture. We are just off the top 4 , in quality . It’s mInly execution and losing key moments that’s holding us back .

We just competed mate . I’m saying this team is built around a 21 yr old half , a 20 year old fullback , the future 9 is 19, our left side edge is 21 . We have another 20 year old on the bench , and for the most part everyone is under 26 bar Tamou and Roberts .
It’s a slow process , and I think we will break the drought this year . That’s my point .

I think we only competed when Parra played bad, same as last week. Its been a slow process for a long time now, we need to demand results sometime.

Mate I’m frustrated as well . We always lose the 50 /50 plays , some of that is officiating , but most of that is maturity in competing for every last crumb we can get .
And make no mistake it is maturity and time together . The Raiders team has been together 5 years . The roosters team , have won premierships , and this eels team have been together a long time as well .
Our issue is the constant change . There’s no continuity . Every time someone drops a ball , there’s cries he needs to be dropped , every bad game someone plays, he needs to be dropped etc . And many coaches like Taylor and potter and even Madge last year , have adhered to this type of thinking .
Which imo was fine , because the players weren’t there yet .
But now with Laurie, AD , Brooks and Liddle/ Simpkin , the players are there . So we now have to watch them clunk around and play disjointed footy , until they figure it out .
This is why I think it’s different to previous years . And if the brooks hate brigade want to get rid of him , then replace madden with brooks . But the ages of the spine are then 20,22,21, and 24 or 19.
That’s spoon territory . That eels team has been settled for a long time now , and even they arnt ready yet as Mahoney and brown are early 20s themselves .

The storm halves are deceptively older than you think , Keary Teddy , friend , and (insert gun youth half here), are all late 20s early 30s.
This stuff takes time . And like I’ve been saying , every team we have played this year is top 4 , and has strong continuity. We have zero .

After today you would have to get rid of Talau and Kepaoa.
BJ played strongly in reserves scoring and setting up his winger for a few.
Cini was strong again at fullback and safe under a high ball.... might go well on the wing.
Brooks should also go but there’s no strong pressure from reggies where the halves don’t look up to first grade yet.
Same with Simpkin....goes from dummy half EVERY time near the opposition try line.
