The other thing I forgot to mention was the Raiders line speed in defence off their own line was ***unbelievable***, like it almost , *really really looked like they were 3m offside every time.....*

The reason why they looked offside, is because they were offside .. crikey sitting inline with the try line .. when we played the ball 2m out .. i mean when the ball hit the ground .. Scott (?? .. i think) was already standing 3m off the try line .. way offside but the ref Sutton never looked out wide .. it was unbelievable .. how he could allow them to stand so far offside .. Scott made the tackle a milli-second after we caught the ball from the dummy half pass .. whats the use of having 1 ref, 2 touchies and 3 people in the bunker if they cant rule on this .. !! (shakes head in disbelief .. !!)

Another thing i got confused was the advantage.... kepaoa or nofo knocked it on and they ran 15m before being taken into touch by another huge tackle by daine.... but the ref called no advantage.....isnt it 10m+ before advantage is called?

I think that rule was changed a few years ago and it is now a referees "interpretation".So if the refs dont like you "tough"

I don’t think Madge will change much for this week apart from Doueihi to 5/8, we have to keep Laurie at FB he’s the answer there. But i would love Madge to think about dropping Bj he’s just got dumbs plays that cost you, bring Talau to centre. Also think about Garners spot Tuki or Tuilungi Garner is horrible. AJ is also on thin ice for mine, I know this wont eventuate but this is where I think we could get immediate improvement.

It was always an interpretation I think, for decades. That's how I recall it as a kid, though 10 metres was a rough guide. More recently they tried to add greater definition around the concept of 10 metres being measurable. That didn't work, so they reverted to "interpretation".

I personally don't mind it, because I think any concrete guidelines will just get shown up by the million possible variations after play-on.

It was R1, so maybe everyone was a bit rusty?
