Lawrence looked heavy

Rowdy looks so far out of touch but as with Jennings the first named on Tuesday !

If Rowdy doesn’t get selected he and his sister will be calling Danny Weidler immediately.

That is beneath you Avo....You are too emotional.

We are trying to get to the top of the table - why are YOU trying to get to the bottom?

Lawrence offers absolutely nothing full stop
Jennings is an oxygen thief
Eisenhuth offers more than Seyfarth
And Brooks is the common denominator on why we’ve failed for so long
Clean the barnacles of your glasses ?

The common denominator of why we come 9th and not get the spoon every year..see i can say stupid things

You need to stop defending him
Your credibility on this forum is diminishing with every loss
He’s a garbage halfback

Oh well..

didn't see much of that last week after a win..in fact quite a lot of forum members had him as 3 points..

When will you give it up mate???

The honey moons over for the coach ! do
Know what’s worse the playing group or the coach !

I’m not sold on Madge at all ...
Apart from Walters that bench is pure puss

Madge is hopeless. Everyone on here gushing over him. He’s about the same as JT. Cleary far better.

I get that you are upset.

So I'll pretend you didn't come out with that drivel, Avo.

Granted my comparison to JT and Ivan were perhaps a little over the top and heat of the moment (even though he’s yet to achieve more than either of them yet). However, I don’t rate Madge as much as everyone else and I think overall he’s been quite disappointing. He’s not a messiah like some seem to think. I’m struggling to see any improvements in the past 12 months.

I’ll just say this. Madge is known for his hard work ethic - something we sorely need. Last night he was seething. He was hurting. He hates losing. Maybe ego driven - I don’t care. Would love for some of our players to be this passionate about winning rather than tweeting that the end of the game was poorly reffed. Just a reminder tigers players: they hadn’t won for a year!

I just think it's going to take time. He's still carrying $4 mill worth of Cleary's baggage. Once his younger recruits reach NRL then we can judge him on his merits. The Grant swap was genius, Blore a great signing, even Walters was a smart move. Compare those deals to what previous losers have left us with and I'd say we're heading in the right direction.

Nobody mentions that Marshall has decided it better to stand in the oppositions attacking line instead of our defending line. Just another example of him never being held to account. What the hell is he doing? Brainless play that went a long way to costing the team the game in the end.

So the gold coast player foot inside the 10. Penalty to us I'd have thought

Yep, possibly, but he shsould have been onside contesting the ball. We were defending. Well, 12 of us were.

Yeah, not disputing your point. Just a crap club TBH, I think I'm done.

Joey Leilua posting on Instagram upset about one of the refs calls with the short kickoff - that’s flat out embarrassing. Don’t go blaming the refs mate take some ownership about how rubbish a performance that was. Madge needs to have a word with him about that

I don't blame BJ for that, at least he cares.

I'm still gutted, the year is over for us, we won't make the finals this year, not after that. I'm not being defeatish, or negative, I have lived through this before, we all have, and we know how this story goes. Remember when Knights were last, for three years, and they'd still beat us (one year only us)?

I'm trying to be solution focused so, what we need, seriously, to build a winning culture, we need to recruit big forward leaders, pay them $1m a year JWH for 3 years perhaps, Nelson Asofa-Solomona for 4 years, they aren't perfect but there's no one out there better for our needs, and we will need to pay them big overs to entice them.

Next week vs Raiders (we need big changes)

1 Doueihi (his positional play is terrible, but we have noone better at present)
2 Cini (Nofa needs to have a spell. Despite the good things he does, there's too many bad things, he's better than Jennings/ Thompson though)
3 BJ Leulua
4 MBye
5 Bradley (Jennings can go. Why Bradley, because not Nofa/Jennings/Thompson)
6 Walters (Benji needs to have a sit down, game's beyond him now)
7 Madden (Brooks, also, needs to know we expect better from him)
13 Twal
12 Garner
11 Leulua
10 Aloiai
9 Grant
8 Musgrove (Need something more in the forwards, we are seriously lacking. And this is the only player we have that might add to them, so change we must.)

14 Blare (Lawrence we know is not the answer, need to try someone else)
15 Mikaele (Job to be aggro when he comes on 25min mark)
16 Eisenhuth (Tackle Tackle Tackle)
17 Taylor (Tackle Tackle Tackle)

I'm with you 96%. Can't do Taylor.

That'll be good for at least a 20 point thrashing.

well 2 then stand corrected

Sorry but I have to disagree with your assessment.

I can't see how he was responsible for two tries, in fact I can't see how he's responsible for any. Can you explain what you think he should do with the try where they kicked in behind him? He can't sit back too far if the inside men move up - that leaves a hole for a runner and a vulnerability close to the line. Name any winger in the comp and I'd be sure I can find a similar try against them. I also believe this is when the fullback should be offering cover and I have grave concerns about his positional play.

I imagine the 2nd try you think he's responsible for must be the final try because he ended up closest to the scorer. I just watched it again and he was marking the opposition winger with Doueihi about 7 metres inside him (imagine the howls of protest if he came in and left his winger).

The fact he ended up almost under the posts and closer to the ball than Doueihi is a far greater condemnation of the fullback than the winger. In fact if you look at this you will see at least 4 players closer to the posts than Nofo, including Doueihi on the far right.

![Screen Shot 2020-06-08 at 8.32.21 am.png](/assets/uploads/files/1591569530781-screen-shot-2020-06-08-at-8.32.21-am.png)

Go a couple of frames further and you see Nofo overtaking Doueihi...

![Screen Shot 2020-06-08 at 8.32.40 am.png](/assets/uploads/files/1591569723751-screen-shot-2020-06-08-at-8.32.40-am.png)

It was a tremendous effort to get there but it shouldn't have been his play to defend - clearly not his fault. Where were the middle players or the players from our left edge? Why wasn't Doueihi back given he was 7 metres closer.

Like any player, Nofo has his faults, but to blame him for these tries is questionable.

I actually feel for the guy - he's one of the few who has a red hot crack every week and is one of the most maligned guys to have ever worn the jersey.

While I'm at it, without his two tries against Saints we lose. Without his two tries and an assist yesterday we're not in the game. Right now, he's the only bloke in our team who looks like scoring.

Finally, I apologise for any over analysis, I am very OCD and enjoy scrutinising things like this.

Completely agree,i will critisize any player who gets it wrong but some people on here seem to just blame Nof just because he is on the field. In no way was he responsible for 2 tries scored against us last night the first he was on his wing marking up with BJ outnumbered in a 3-2 overlap(as usual)The kick is put in goal behind him which is the full backs(AD) job to clean up.If he had stayed back for a possible kick and not moved up as he is coached to do with BJ it would have left a 3-1 overlap and i would have blamed him then for not supporting his inside man.
I cant even imagine what the 2nd try he is being blamed for could be.

I think BJ was responsible for that try - he came in and ended up tackling nobody.

Let's be realistic, a good kick behind the line will always be dangerous - it doesn't matter who you're playing or whether it's in the middle or the edge. This is why the Roosters consciously try to block the ball getting through - they back their defence to hold out multiple sets.

With defences moving up together it's critical the fullback is properly positioned to cover kicks through the line. Teddy and Slater are/were the best at this. They always seems to be in the right sport at the right time. Corey is pretty good too, I can remember a few times when he's saved tries covering kicks.

AD is still learning the job and I'm not sure he's 'fullback fit'. The 40-20 and the final try weigh heavily on him for a lack or urgency. Nofo is quick but he shouldn't be passing our fullback from 10 metres behind in a 20m sprint.

Maybe - but not last night.

Credit where credit is due. I even gave Jennings credit last week and I think he is one of the worst wingers I have ever seen. I noticed you said awhile ago he was good under the high ball - how good was he last night - as good as he is at everything else .... HOPELESS.

Really harsh blaming Doueihi for that last try. He followed the ball across field and it got kicked the complete opposite way not much he can do. It’s really on those defenders in the middle to keep their eyes open and stay alert to something like that.

Unfortunately our bench didn't provide much go forward. Not sure what's happened to Musgrove, but he was good in the limited game time he's had.

I'm not sold on Twal at lock. If anything, Lawrence could fill that role and our prop rotation could be Aloiai, Twal, Mikaele and Musgrove.

Garner and Leilua in the back row and Lawrence in the 13 to mainly defend. Even Elijah Taylor is a shout at 13.

Seyfarth and Clark went ok, but we need more off the bench. I think these guys need another year in reserves before making the step up.

Although we didn't play well, we only lost it in the last minute and had a few strange calls go against us that led to tries. Last year we missed the 8 off the back of some last minute losses as well. We just need that bit extra to get us over the line in the tight ones.

Twal is the best lock we have, what I reckon is that Aloiai and Mikaele can’t come off at the same time. Start Aloiai and Clark, Aloiai interchange with Mikaele and Clark with Musgrove. Chee Kam instead of Lawrence on the bench as well.

I still don't think Madge is to blame totally for this loss, after hearing his presso he said the team stuck to the plan in the first 15 minutes then they went off the rails and didn't ….
that tells me the leadership on the field at the time decided to ditch the plan and do their own thing...
Benji and Brooks are the ball players, both had underwhelming games, maybe therein lies the problem we have had for a number of years and the turnover of coaches...
