**live game feed** vs the Warriors

After the spray he gave them at half time you can guarantee that every player did exactly as Madge told them after the break. One out plays up the middle all night, and playing Douehi and Twal who were both injured as others have said. He's taken a razzle-dazzle team and regimented them like his own private army - that's brilliant in one respect because it's fixed our defence, but it doesn't work in attack when the team should be let loose to chuck the ball around and do what they do best. They have become predictable, and that's probably one of the reasons that Souths moved Madge on.

If the locker room report was correct, at half time Madge apparently told them that they were to go out there and make things happen. After our two early try’s the team thought and played like the game was in the bag.

I don’t think they played to the game plan at all.

And even if they did play to Maguire's plan the Warriors clearly had a better plan!

I believe we lost that game rather than the warriors winning. Not kicking the goals, not controlling the ruck by allowing them to offload even when we had 3 in the tackle and most importantly playing one dimensional football which is what happens when we lose the ruck.

Good chance we finish bottom 4 this year.

I agree with you. But honest question that I’ll get shouted down for. Under Cleary we finished 9th. In Madge’s first season we finished 9th. This year I think everyone would agree we have a better team on paper. So why are we going backwards on the ladder?

Very tough draw this year. I think we will finish 9th or 10th probably end up winning the same percentage of games but they’ll need to pull their fingers out. Most games we look like we are playing better then we did last year

The Coach needs to be held accountable tonight Lawrence should not have been in the centre’s.
Hiku outclassed him tonight & that says it all if a backline player was in his position that final attacking play by us would of probably been a try & Hiku would not of scored both tries. Talau should have played in his position with Jennings or Kepaoa on the wing & Reynolds should have started in place of Walters he offers heaps more in every aspect of the game than Walters the team selections are hurting our performances & if we don’t make the semifinals I would not be in a hurry to resign the coach.

You wanted the plodder Jennings or a kid who’s been here one week? There wasn’t a better team than the one he named.

That ones all on the players. They didn’t turn up. Joey will be back next week for Lawrence

I just finished watching the game on replay. While we didn’t deserve a victory I think we got the rough end on some big decisions. The Lawton try was only scored because Lucy tripped over an offside Warriors player at marker. Decision would have 100 percent been reversed if it was referred to video ref. Is that a play we could have challenged?
There was no evidence that Hiku planted the ball when Doueihi held him up. I think he did a great job in acting like he planted it convincing the ref he had scored. I know I would’ve allowed the try if I was ref based on his confidence. Video ref had no option but to go with the on field call.
Conversely when Hiku scored in the corner there was no evidence he remained in as the view was obstructed. Despite this the video made the assumption he had scored because it looked like he was in based on the position of his foot. However if they’re being consistent he should have stuck with the refs call given there was no conclusive proof. If you look closely at the replay the touch judge has the perfect view. Much better than the video...In addition, I think everyone got fooled by the position of his foot. If you look at the front on shot in slow mo you can see Hiku’s lower leg hit the touch line at the same time as the ball is grounded.

All of that, plus not having Packer. We have some great young forwards but they need an old head like Packer to lead the way and teach them that the game is all about aggression and attrition. If they can't get aggressive they should switch to soccer.

Yes the performance was on the players but that was not the best team available. Do not tell me Walters is better than Reynolds & Jennings in my opinion is a better backline player than Lawrence.

Madge has played his cards, dropping underperforming players. But tonight his tactics just simply didn't work.

Lawrence in the centres got stood up by Hiku a bunch and our forward pack should simply be ashamed. They really have learnt nothing from the Titans game. I'm also worried Maguire doesn't know how to jump-start our attack. We had Benji, Brooks, Walters and Grant on, with Brooks being inserted way too late and overall we looked completely clueless.

It seems crazy but Reynolds needs to be there against these low-placed teams because he brings effort and grit. Drop him for the classier teams, we lift to our opponents level and thus need talent and skill to win those, so play Brooks in those. Sorry but Walters is not a first grader. Next season Douehi replaces Benji, move Mbye to fullback and Talau to the centres. And whatever we do, recruit some speed in the backs and throw some money at a psycho, talented forward to replace Packer. We have some big young lads but no experienced, hardened players to complement them aside from Packer and BJ.

Respect the views of all supporters because we are all passionate and hurting after that but the Douehi comments are astounding. He is a slug but to suggest he didn’t have a go or lacks heart as some have said is flat out ridiculous. Did so many good things tonight and tried his guts out on one leg. Let’s try and be a bit objective please ...

I not saying he isn't having a go, just think he is a centre and not a fullback.

He's soft in defence...should have bundled Hiku out, but got swatted.

There goes the finals...

I think Twal was the other marker, and looked like a slow motion scene from the Matrix. Try was ok, just poor defense, even with LL falling over.

As Madge said in the presser, we lost the forward battle by not putting in the effort.

The draw is not an excuse as we got beaten by the Titans and Warriors. This year we haven’t beaten one good team.

And lost to a couple of poor ones in the process.

I said before and as much as some don’t want to heat it , the loss falls at the feet of the COACH , it was his game plan to play up the guts e plan one pass of the dummy half that’s all we done . Now if that was not his game plan he would have sent trainers out to get it wider . Maybe Madge is not as good as we think , because what was dished up last night was bloody off all .

The forwards were ineffective. No platform to play off. It's a simple game if your forwards don't have some ascendancy in defense and in getting your team some momentum you are in trouble. Ive seen them play better and I've seen them play like this before -with the same result. As soon as we missed the goal in front and the Warriors got a sniff after the first try it was obvious we were in trouble. The old headspace factor can't be discounted with the players they probably could feel what was happening better than anyone.
