Taylor may be the genius behind this win. In that second half we barely gave a penalty away, and turned the ball over once (Lawrence, when we were on the attack). When we didn't gift them field position or possession, they had absolutely nothing. We only really turned it on after the Watmough error, once we got ahead, we never looked back. No it wasn't pretty, but it was a gritty, ugly and uncompromising performance that many on here have been wanting from our boys for the last few seasons.

Once again we just stayed in the contest, terrible execution terrible kicking, but we just continue to give ourselves a chance, I'm sure this is a big thing for Taylor, hopefully we can start to click in attack soon because it's getting real painful to sit through. That was truly awful.

You can be a negative Nancy or you can look on the positives. We won and there were plenty of highlights.

Great outcome and a fantastic final 10 mins. Some flukey tries and some favorable calls make the scoreline flattering. I will now turn my attention to the "Richards is a liability" thread for my post-match entertainment

i have no idea, both teams looked flat in attack, especially us. defence is good but long way to go with attack, look toothless at times.

At least the game lit up in the last ten minutes instead of the first 10.

What a dire seventy minutes of football. Parra couldn't hang on to the pill and we had nothing in 5th tackle options.

Taupau needs to learn when to chance your arm on a hail mary pass and when to hang on to it… Say the first tackle 10m from the line...

Yes both teams were poor in execution. The game didn't live up to a quarter of the hype. Have to say though, it's great to be poor and get the win. Kinda makes up for being awesome and taking the loss

Well that blows out of the water the fact that the side struggles to score points in the last 20 minutes!.
Thank you very much Andrew Voss!, and BTW welcome back to calling the games that matter Vossy!.

84% completion rate
19 missed tackles
nearly 1800m run
8 errors
wasn't pretty except the last ten but we stuck it out and waited for them to make the mistakes which in previous years would not have done. attack needs work but happy with that victory.

I know the halves were having a ordinary day, though Robbie made sure that second half stayed dour, by eliminating Brooks and Moses and feeding the pigs himself. We played telegraphed around the ruck and were getting punished for it. The Eels were so compressed that it wouldnt have taken much to run around them, but Farah persisted hammering the ruck…

They say good teams make there own luck - and we did that.

You can't do anymore than win. We hung in there and in there and Kapow!!!!

Even though Richards is a liability - we still won.

Seriously - How good can we be when JT starts working on the attack.

Patience Forumers - small steps and we are getting there. Would not have ground out a win like that in previous years.

Also Good on Rowdy for an excellent game today. Well done Chris.

It was a very poor refereeing decision not to overturn Robbies dropped ball. We scored another 12 points from that point that I don't think we would have got without that decision. Having said that there is no way Parra would have won had they made a correct decision. parra had nothing in the second half and against a top side would have lost by 50.

Lets see what comes of it but the video ref could have quite easily made the decision based on Watmough not being square at marker and leaving early.

No one ever get those calls when you reach out from marker and play the dummy half.

If they were going to overturn that decision then it should've been a penalty for offside/marker not square. Simona got penalised for not being square in the first half and he was much more square than Watmough was.

King Richards and King James
He again won the game for us, Richards the LEGEND  People complain that he is slow, but if only Lawrence is faster and has football brain of Patty :frowning:
Not a bad result after a few "fans' again wanted to forfeit with 20:0
Woods was again the best (187 m from 21 hits, 32 T, 0 MT), Galloway (167 m from 19 tackles, 28 T, 0 MT), Taupau (110 m from 10, 27 T, 1 MT) had a few strong runs, Simona (147 m from 14, 7T, 0 MT) was dangerous, his pass to Richards was excellent.
Everyone contributed, another good team effort. 19 MT (vs 40 opposition) is very good considering the conditions
Farah was very good in defence, but he slows our attack🙁
Brooks and Moses, we shall expect more, Drinkwater with his kicking game must be taken into consideration.

Go Tigers

Agree. If you allow that much freedom from the marker then spoiling tactics would make scoring near impossible inside the 10\. Would be nothing but arms reaching around knocking the ball down.
