When the Cowboys, got in front in the second half, I thought to myself, even if we go on to lose this I won't be upset as the guys, even with not much to play for, have tried their hearts out...
Then to go down in that way... I'm devastated and truly heart broken for the team and coaching staff...

I thought for an inexperienced coach presser he spoke well but he could have said things like "I am so extremely disappointed with how the bunker got involved and the outcome....I feel the team, the supporters and the club have been let down by these decisions. The players have lost faith in the system etc.
Statements like this gets the point across without getting fined and doesn't compromise the club taking action.
We also don't know what Gardener was advised to say because it seemed very preemptive to me. Sheens may have been in his ear.
He has my respect because he took over at late notice and we won even though the scoreboard doesn't reflect that.

I’m still seething I couldn’t give a shit about a hollow apology from the NRL or the refs. I want the correct result to be reinstated, this not only has ramifications for us and potentially not getting the spoon it could shape the nature of the 8 or top 4.
Also getting results now could help our recruitment going forward it could also determine who gets moved on and who gets retained ect what a joke the Nrl is absolute farce.

I love how he got away with it and Kenny gets busted and sin binned for a dodgy shoulder charge. Maybe it was a shoulder charge but there wasn't much in it.
Yeah I had the sound down at that stage - what did they make of it?

Well there's a new type of play to come out of this match.
What you do is: any kickoff, particularly the critical ones, you put all 12 non-kicking players on one side of the field. Then you kick for 20 metres.
You don't kick for 10 metres because there's not enough runway for a defender to make an escort-shaped run. You kick for 20.
You have every one of your 12 players sprint through in a line and you collect every defender possible, because every defender will turn to watch the ball go over their heads, and naturally the defenders will also jog backwards towards the football.
Everyone one of your 12 players collides with a defender and hits the deck. Then when the opposition fields the ball, you challenge the call of "Tackle 1" and then the bunker has to adjudicate 12 kick-defence collisions, one of which is bound to be close enough to be ruled an escort.

Yeh I said that too mate but you also raise a great point about recruiting which I didn't think of.
This potentially can cost the club so much money.
Sponsors are more likely to jump on a team like the tigers if suddenly we have the cattle and are likely to get a fairytale run into the finals in 2023.
I think we all were.
The outcome of that game was an absolute disgrace.
NQ have no honour and the ref/bunker should be held accountable for their massive failings tonight.
Few bannings on the forum tonight it seems.
Hopefully we all wake up less angered tomorrow.

The stupid thing is that Payten complained about difficult decisions earlier in the season - he asked why the top teams always seem to get the rub of the green.
And now he gets one - now it's "karma".
And the second stupidity is that some other coach can surely claim that the previously bad Cowboys decisions were karma for their own club.

No - that is one difference.
Another difference is a bad sin-bin against Kenny M for bracing himself when being run into by Dearden.
The main difference was Cows being allowed to use a challenge when there was no decision to challenge. Literally through the rule-book out the window to permit a last-gasp snatch by Cows.
If Klein had half a brain he would have realised that the referral by Townsend was not permissable and rule "no penalty" to hose down the mistake that had been made. Instead he amplifies the mistake by ruling a very dubious escort penalty to change the outcome of a match.

Good points.
What kills me is our team fought with heart right to the last second. We score two tries in like 5 or so minutes to get us ahead. We had a man down for a dodgy 10 minutes in the bin. They are a good team as well.
