mckillrick is a beast in the middle. Hit all there forwards all day.. Sign him up long term!!

He has been the shining light of 2017 for the club. But we need to be careful with a long term contract, an upgrade yes but only 2 years. He has bad knees although you would not know it, cartlidge issues according to P. Sterling I think mentioning it.

A lot went against us too.

Chee Kam was onside imo on try 1.
Dogs rorted HIA. Tolman and Eastwood both taken off HIA with a cut and leg injury only to come back on. 4 free forward rotations!
Elliott was held and then lost the ball in the lead up to Holland's try.
Brooks held off the ball from the strip at the end.
Penalty on McIlwrick for a great, great tackle that forced Morris to drop the ball.

We had the penalty count but rightly so. We were very well behaved.

Totally agree. Especially the Elliott tackle. Did they not learn from Friday night? If the guy is tackled and on the ground he can't get the ball able. It is either a penalty or a lost ball and the Tigers should have had the ball on halfway.
Great win when a few decisions didn't go our way. I hope Wood$ feels good about his new team, maybe he has gone out to dinner with them tonight.

I love our hooker rotation. Liddle went well. Made all his tackles. But McIlwrick is awesome!

Disagree to a slight extent . We seem to die in the arse a bit when Liddle comes on .
Can Mcllwrick play 80 ?
If he can , he should !

I agree that MM should play 80 if he can. But Liddle is getting blooded and is doing well. Young small bodied fella defending in the middle in a weak defensive unit. I didn't see him miss one. McIlwrick actually flattens people though. He is excellent. How he took this long to make grade is beyond me.

If re-signing him isn't our next priority then I'll be a monkey's uncle

He was quoted in todays paper as saying " It would be awesome to stay here."

This guy needs his own thread. So impressed with him he has definitely been one of our best this year and i hope Cleary sees his value.

I don't understand all the love for Liddle, seems pretty average at best. Doesn't do much for me I'm afraid. We lost our go forward whenever he was on. Mcllwrick on the other hand, as you say, was awesome.

Are you serious Hobbo - Liddle is just learning, he has to come on to get that experience.
His defence was terrific today and his service from DH was excellent.

Have no idea what you expect from a 20 year old. MM is really good yes but Liddle is the future.

Maybe Woods will go out to dinner with them tonight.

However he certainly put it on them during the game. That's all we want him to do.

Mcllwrick is 25 and he's a gun and he's also what we need ATM .
Yes Liddle is only 20 and looks like a promising prospect , but he should be plying his trade in reserve grade ATM .

I don't think I have witnessed Liddle do anything special on any occasion. Mcllwrick is excellent, if old Robbie could play 80 mins then train Mc to it as well.

McIlwrick has a chronic knee issues bone on bone ..even when at Newtown they had Kurt Kara coming off the bench giving him a spell in ISP…

Great signing though one of the highlights of the season so far...

Tedesco held up by a player who shouldn't have been their but somehow it wasnt a penalty try

My thoughts on that no try decision as well. If Reynolds isn't there Tedesco scores. Isn't that a professional foul? Or is it different to the Brenko Lee sin bin?

Thx Geo , never knew Mcllwrick had bung knees.

I'd still be extending his contract though , he's good !

I was confused about this at the crowd as you heard them say if it's not a try Reynolds is off side. As I'm watching it Reynolds is the main defender and all we get is a penalty, if he stays out of the play we score 100%

Agree …. he will improve with experience.
For goodness sake he is just 20.

Plying your trade in reserve grade is not going to teach you anything about NRL.
Even if you stayed there for 50 years.

Liddle defends very well, and will put on a bit of size as he gets older. He will also build confidence and has a very good running game. He does get some time in the naughty corner for going for a try himself from dummy half. Both him & McIllwrick have scored from that play recently, but the dogs are a bit tougher around the ruck.

And look where it got brooks and moses .
It's taken then 70 odd games to show glimpses of being ready for the main stage .
Playing hooker in the NRL is a massive ask at the age of 20 , the kid looks promising , but he needs more bulk and another pre-season under his belt .

He does need to put on more muscle - enough so it doesn't slow him down.
If he is not NRL familiar what are you going to do if MM knee goes - play Rankin?
